Using Audio Books for Learning English

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

My children’s knowledge of the English language is far better than their friends’. The only reason for it is the fact that they are using audio books for learning English. My elder son has just finishing listening to the last Harry Potter audio book. Of course he became a great fan of the story. I got him the original script along with the audio book so he can search for words he can not understand within the book. this Harry potter audio book was a book on tape and consisted of several 30 minutes audio book cassettes.

Students all over the world are learning English using audio books. Audio books are the most effective way of learning English. It is well known that the best way to learn a new language or to improve the existing knowledge of a language is listening or talking the language.

Learning English by using audio books broadens the vocabulary, helps understanding rapid speaking but more than all it is the only method that helps you learn the right pronunciation.

Using audio books to learn English is quite easy. You should only get audio books on Cd, books on tape or download audio books (You can also download free audio books).

You should find an audio book that best suits your needs. If you are a beginner, The speech should be clear and slow. I also recommend getting an audio book with more than one speaker.

I consider myself as a relatively good English speaker. Yet, listening to the English audio book version of Crime And Punishment by Feodor Dostoyevsky was not easy. I listened to each of the three audiobook cds at least a couple of times. I enjoyed broadening my vocabulary with rare words and listening to the british accent.

Henry James wrote : “Summer afternoon, Summer afternoon… The two most beautiful words in the english language”, so get your children the harry potter audio books on cd, get out for the summer afternoon and let him enjoy learning english using audio books.

911 Corp. has executed an independent research to find the best place to get audio books from. Find out the clear results and all about audio books only on the Audio books bible.

Start a Home-Based Newsletter Business

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Do you have a passion, something you love and enjoy talking
about with others? You have heard people say that you should do
what you love, sometimes what we do is not necessarily, what we
love but we do it because it pays the bills. Here a home
business opportunity to change that and to make some money from
something that is dear to you by starting a home-based
newsletter business.

The newsletter business is a huge business in of itself. Many
newsletters are distributed by a variety of organizations, from
for-profits to not-for-profits such as schools or charities. For
this reason, newsletters can be an easy sell since your audience
is not only accustomed to receiving newsletters but many people
look forward to receiving a short 4-page booklet about something
they find interesting and useful.

To get started, find a niche topic that you think others in your
community may find interesting and would like to hear about on a
periodic basis. Your topics could range from local bird
populations and species to bikes and bike trails. The topics to
select can be endless, but may be a product of your local
community and what the community finds interesting.

After you have decided on a topic, consider the frequency of
distribution, weekly/monthly/bi-annually. The period you select
may also depend on the amount of research you will have to
conduct. Even though you consider yourself an expert on the
topic, you may find yourself conducting research more often than
your first thought in order to keep the newsletters content
fresh and unique. You may even try to find a guest columnist or
conduct an interview with a local who knows something about the
topic. Lastly, you need time to sell a few advertisements to
offset the production costs of the newsletter.

To make your newsletters interesting consider a seasonal flare,
where the colors for instance of the newsletter match with the
upcoming seasons, bright reds, yellows and green for spring and
browns, grey and purple for autumn. Whatever you decide, make it
fun.

When it comes to pricing, the simplest method is to take your
production costs and add 20% to those costs. You may have to
absorb much of the initial costs if you do not have many
subscribers, which you should account for during the earliest
stages of launching your newsletter. If you have a computer and
a good laser printer, you can cut your costs dramatically.

Now that you have started up and are producing a quality
product, you have to distribute the newsletter. The quickest way
to get new subscribers is by word of mouth, which is when people
begin telling or referring others to your newsletter. You can
start by giving free copies to friends and family and ask them
to pass them around to their friends. You can drop off a few
copies at the local hair salon, dentist and doctor’s office.

To create a buzz, you can run a price promotion, half off for
the first six months. Yet even better, you can run a combined
promotion with another complimentary business. Let us say that
your newsletter is about migratory birds, why not ask the local
pet store if you can include a coupon in the newsletter for
something free, such as a sampling of new birdseed. The store
manager may have birdseed that the birdseed manufacturer’s
representative dropped off. This is a real win-win situation for
all parties involved as you get to provide your subscribers with
something free, the pet store gets traffic into the store, and
the birdseed manufacturer gets customers using their brand of
birdseed compared with that of the competitors.

I hope that you will have fun starting up your new business and
that it will be a wonderful chapter of your life.

Improve Your Eating Habits To Save Money On Prescriptions!

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Do you like the arthritis pain relief you get from over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pills (like ibuprofen)? But do they “bother your stomach”? Take an honest assessment of your eating habits. Think about your diet before you declare the cheaper NSAIDs off-limits and switch to the more expensive coxibs like Celebrex® or Bextra®. (Each costs about $100 per month!) If you tend to skip meals or eat poorly, any anti-inflammatory will cause indigestion, heartburn or a bleeding ulcer!

NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) work by cooling off inflammation wherever it smolders. The theory is: No inflammation, no pain. Inflammation happens because of an elaborate sequence of biochemical reactions in your body. Some of the steps in these reactions lead to good work elsewhere, like controlling normal blood-clotting, and defending the stomach’s lining from the acid within. NSAIDs block these reactions, and could interfere with your body’s healthy housekeeping. This is where their “side effects” come from.

When you swallow an NSAID tablet, don’t imagine that it sits in your stomach and burns a hole on contact. Instead, it is absorbed into your bloodstream, and then floats around and takes effect. One of these effects is arthritis pain relief. On the other hand, it could also hinder your stomach’s ability to protect itself. You can help your stomach and reduce the chance of side effects by eating properly.

A sound diet requires you to eat frequent, small meals and healthy snacks throughout the day. Having food in your stomach will give the acid something to do, rather than digest the stomach itself! It’s not just a matter of “take it with food.” By fueling and replenishing your body with a healthful eating plan, you could also do without fancy heartburn pills like Prevacid® (about $150 per month!)

Good health and a state of “wellness” means you respect the way all of your organs and systems are interrelated. Do everything you can to sustain your body’s vigor and balance in order to ward off anything that threatens it with pain and disease–or threatens your wallet with the cost of brand-name drugs!

Mixing Things Up

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

To say that the human body is an amazing machine is an understatement, especially when it comes to diet and exercise. Our bodies are constantly trying to achieve a state of homeostasis. The human body over time will make adjustments to try and adapt to its current environment.

The biggest problem with sticking with the same diet and exercise plan day in and day out is that your body will eventually adapt to that plan. The goal is to make subtle changes that keep your body guessing.

Use shock principles with your workouts

There are minor changes that you can do to your workout that will drastically improve your performance. One trick that I like to use is to take comparable exercises and swap them out from week to week. For example, let’s take a basic quadriceps workout. I’ll group my exercises into different categories

Category A: Free weight squats, Smith machine squats
Category B: Leg press, Hack squats
Category C: Leg extensions, lunges

During week one I will use one exercise from each category. The following week I will pick a different group of exercises from my list and so on and so on. For example:

Week One: Free weight squats, Hack squats, Leg extensions
Week Two: Smith machine squats, Leg press, lunges
Week Three: Smith machine squats, Leg press, leg extensions

*Note: These are drastic changes and the changes don’t have to be done every week but they do keep your workouts from becoming stale.

Another option I use in my workouts is to cycle the weight and intensity. I like to train hard and heavy for three to four weeks then do one to two weeks of lighter weight with higher repetitions. Another benefit to cycling your training intensity is that you can decrease the risk of injuries.

Tying it all together

If you notice that your workout program is no longer working for you then try mixing things up. Add a little spice to your workouts and change the tempo. You may be surprised that a few subtle changes can drastically change your workout results.

Treatments To Stop Snoring Now

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Even though a bad snorer may sound like a motorboat speeding over the waves, the truth is that snoring is caused by obstructed breathing, and obstruction can lead to serious problems. Snoring disturbs sleeping patterns and deprives the snorer of much needed rest. When snoring is severe, it can cause serious, long-term health problems, including obstructive sleep apnea not to mention disturbing the peace and quiet in the bedroom.

Simple changes, such as losing weight or sleeping on your side, can help as well as more drastic measures such as surgery. The following is a list of some of the best treatments to help with snoring problems.

Surgery is often used for treating snoring caused by obstructive sleep apnea. Different types of TAP (Thermal Ablation Palatoplasty) include bipolar cautery, laser, and radiofrequency.

• Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) tightens flabby tissues in the throat and palate, and widens air passages.

• Laser Assisted Uvula Palatoplasty (LAUP) treats snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea by removing the obstruction in the airway. A laser is used to vaporize the uvula and a specified portion of the palate. Removing excess tissue enlarges your airway and reduces vibration.

• Radiofrequency-assisted uvulopalatoplasty or RAUP. Instead of a laser, thermal energy is used under local anesthesia to scar and shrink the soft tissue in the back of the throat

• Genioglossus and hyod advancement is a surgical procedure that prevents collapse of the lower throat and pulls the tongue muscles forward, thereby opening the obstructed airway.

• Tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy treats snoring caused by problems with tonsils and adenoids. Often found in children.

If surgery is too risky or unwanted here are some non surgical ways to treat snoring:

• Use a nasal mask that delivers air pressure into the throat called a continuous positive airway pressure or “CPAP”. The mask is attached to a small pump that forces air through your airway to keep it from collapsing. CPAP eliminates snoring but many people find it cumbersome and uncomfortable.

• Change your sleep posture. Snoring is especially loud when you sleep on your back. Various pillows and strap-on devices will force you to sleep in the right position.

•Throat sprays coat the soft tissues of the throat with lubricating oils, allowing the air to move more freely and lessening the noisy vibration.

• Open up nasal passages with the following items including adhesive strips which hold open the airways of your nose, plastic devices to hold open your nostrils, and nasal sprays which reduce congestion or the swelling of nasal tissues. These methods will enhance your breathing.

• Mouthpiece devices are available often custom-fitted by your dentist which pulls the lower jaw and tongue forward, making more room at the back of the throat.

Oftentimes snoring can be helped with lifestyle changes but if you have concerns about snoring you should contact your doctor or dentist for a complete evaluation to discuss the snoring treatments available and to decide which might be the best help to stop your snoring now.

5 Step To Build Your Own Subscriber List

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Anyone who owns an online business must know about this: the
subscriber list is the most important thing to an Internet
marketer. A list of subscribers is what you need to earn a
steady income and the bigger the list, the better it is.

Your list of subscribers is the best source of selling your
product to. You can do a lot of things with your list - for
example conducting a survey, get ideas for your products, and
the greatest reason, where you earn most of your money from.

What should you do if you don’t have a subscriber list? Simply
start building one right away, and that is what you will learn
through this article.

1. Where do you start? You need to choose the right
autoresponder for yourself. The more reputable paid
autoresponders are http://www.aweber.com and
http://www.getresponse.com. Though using a free autoresponder is
not encouraged, you can get a descent one at
http://www.freeautobots.com.

With an autoresponder, you can collect the emails of your
subscribers so that they will be able to receive your
newsletters, e-zines, mini course or promotion.

2. Opting in The most basic requirement of an Internet Marketer
is to have a website. You need a website so you can include your
autoresponder’s opt-in form, and allow your prospects to
subscribe into your list.

Every single visitor that comes to your website is important and
you can’t afford to lose any of them. Try to offer an
irresistible free bonus to your visitors at a visible place on
your website with the condition that they must opt-into your
list so that you are allowed to send them the free products.

It can be an e-book, a newsletter, an e-zine or just a mini
course. If you are selling an informational digital product like
an e-book, it is a good choice to offer few chapters of excerpts
from your product as a free gift.

3. Using a double opt-in for safety It is important that you use
an autoresponder with the double opt-in feature. Many of times
if you do not have this feature, you’ll be easily shut down for
“spamming”. This is a result from people who has forgotten that
they subscribed to your newsletter and reported that you have
spammed, or someone else had inserted another person’s email
into your opt-in box.

Using a double opt-in ensures that you get targeted subscribers
as well, which means people who are interested in receiving your
newsletter.

4. Contacting your subscribers You must continue in following up
with your subscribers once they are in your list. Put up an
autoresponder series of newsletter, e-zine or mini course, when
it is the right time you can promote your product etc. This way,
you make sure you are in close relationship with your
subscribers and that they can trust you more, and trust can turn
you more profits.

5. Personalize your email It is proven again and again that
personalized emails are the best way of approaching your leads.
If your messages can start up with “Dear Bob,” “Dear Sam,” not
only can it increase your credibility and response you can sound
more personalized - like speaking one on one and people like
that.

To do this, you need to have a good autoresponder which allows
you to do it by using services from http://www.aweber.com,
http://www.getresponse.com, or
http://www.marketingtips.com/mailloop.

There you go with your own subscriber list, once you have
completed all these 5 steps you’re ready to go get more and more
subscribers and build your castle online.
