The temptation among internet marketers to SPAM is greater than ever. By now, most people know that SPAM isn’t the popular food from Hormel but a pseudonym for “unsolicited commercial email,” also known as UCE.
SPAM is a definite no-no. It’s also the quickest way to destroy your online reputation.
Unlike conventional mail, unsolicited email can provoke a hostile, negative, and destructive reaction. There are individuals on the Web who will contact your Internet Service Provider, harass you, “bomb” your server with countless emails and do everything possible to either shut you down or generally make your online life miserable.
There have been instances where marketers have sent SPAM to recipients with great results. The benefits are only short-term, however.
“Netiquette” allows for the selective transmission of emails to recipients who have expressed an interest in specific subjects or topics related to what you offer because they have “opted-in” to an email directory or source.
Purchasing email addresses from an “opt-in” source is considered to be acceptable but should still be approached carefully. Make sure the lists are up to date, highly qualified and originate from a “double opt-in source.”.
There are other methods available that are appropriate to the Internet and do not risk the wrath of SPAM. Banner advertising and ads on ezines, or electronic magazines or newsletters, are cost-effective and highly targetted.

The Trust Issue in Marketing
by Darrin F. Coe, MA
copyright 2004
One of the prime motivating factors in the purchase decision making process is “trust”. A consumer will at some point for however long or short of a time, ask the question, “Can I trust this company/person/product?”
In today’s ever-changing world of marketing, electronic media, email, and advertising innovations and intrusions, companies, and businesses are marketing to an ever increasingly suspicious consumer, who is conflicted between their desire not to be “sold” to and their desire to consume. They are looking for ways to establish believability, credibility, and trust.
According to a paper by the Peppers and Rogers Group (2004), 36% of major U.S. corporations view privacy as an important part of the company’s brand image.
It is my belief based on consumer thinking that one way to develop a competitive edge in the marketing world is to place greater emphasis on tying privacy policy to brand. This strategy places a direct link between trust and purchase while developing the beginnings of long-term relationship.
I suggest highlighting your privacy policy in all your marketing in a way that makes privacy, trust, and your brand synonymous. Let the consumer know that here is a business that will respect your privacy. Let them know that your communication with them will be relevant to their consumer needs. And you can let them know that information they share with your business will be used to better meet their needs and will not, knowingly be used against them, sold, or given to third parties.
It might even be smart to develop a short marketing campaign that focuses on your commitment to your customer’s privacy, instead of simply stating that you have a privacy policy or stating your policy in unreadable font at the bottom of your literature.
About 50 % of consumers today have little more knowledge than brand or product recognition and have little desire to acquire extra information about a brand or product, so it behooves the marketing community to link recognition of their brand to trust, safety, and advocacy. Instead of selling to consumers, target your marketing to help them believe that you are making them safer and more secure by purchasing your brand and then back it up!

They’re free! You only need a brain and a computer which if
you’re reading this now, you meet the criteria. Time needs to be
put in to do the required research and make sure that your
information meets and exceeds the needs of your chosen market.
When organized properly, your information becomes a positive
cashflow asset. Robert Kiyosaki is a strong advocate of creating
positive cashflow assets. Many people think of assets as those
things that have value but a real asset puts money in your
pocket on a daily basis. Examples of free content that became an
asset is any musician that you know and love. The Righteous
Brothers are a classic group that came up with a few
chart-topping hits and assuming that they wrote the music
themselves, created an asset that has continued to create
revenue even decades later.
It’s fast and easy to create info products. This article took me
about an hour to create and as part of a series of articles
could be sold as a ebook or mini-course that created cashflow.
You can have unlimited inventory and instant access for your
customers. A eliable webhosting account will only cost you about
$20 per month and your digital asset can be sitting on the
server, downloaded repeatedly and you’ll never run out of
inventory, it’s fantastic! Stop thinking about physical
products, focus on digital.
The profits from an online website are instant and automatic.
Each time a consumer buys, your account is credited. No hassles,
no paperwork, all profit! As you may be aware of, an exra
talented person may be worth $100 per hour and have a capacity
to earn 2 hundred thousand dollars per year. What if they want
to earn more, they are limited to their earning capacity. You
are well aware of the need for leverage hence you’re reading
this article. Online enterprises are one of the best forms of
leverage. You can create a 24 hour money machine that never
tires.
The types of info products you can create are ebooks or
electronic books, where your information can be saved as a pdf
or in a custom application. The next is an audio product where
all you need is a decent microphone and earphones. Software can
be downloaded for free or cheaply that will compress your audio
into an appropriate format. The final type is video. Here again,
there is free and cheap software available to make it happen. No
special I.T. skills required.
Have a unique product with a unique selling proposition. You can
surely think of at least 1 thing that differentiates your
product from the rest in the market. The more content you
create, the more money you can make from your website.
Hope you enjoyed this article. All the best with your online
aspirations. Take action and make it happen.

In the last few weeks, I have noticed an increase in tools or
methods devised exclusively to fight the Spam fight. I applaud
the originators ideals and their ingenuity, but I must voice my
concern about the way in which such concepts can often backfire,
sometimes in the nastiest of ways.
I abhor spam. I hate it with a vengeance and would do ALMOST
anything to rid the Internet of it entirely. The worldwide
financial consequences alone run into billions of dollars
annually. It is comparable to the disruption that the propagation
of viruses causes and is responsible for creating a completely
independent niche market for the sale of tools and software
programs designed simply to combat it. Although, I would imagine
that even those engaged in this area of marketing would also
welcome it’s demise, however unlikely it might seem at the
moment.
The latest is a web page that we are all being asked to link to
which, as I understand it, will result in the email addresses
listed on that page, which are ‘known’ spam originating
addresses, being inundated with so much spam, generated by their
own ’spiders’ (entities which crawl the Net looking for email
addresses) that their data will be effectively useless due to
the spider being effectively sent on an endless ‘loop’. A simple
but brilliant little idea - But is it safe?
What if an innocent email address should find it’s way onto that
web page? What if one is maliciously placed there? Does that
email address get caught up in the vicious circle of unsolicited
email? Maybe not, but even if the method precludes this
particular ‘backfire’, more to the point, is it right to spam
the ’spammer’? If you rob a thief, doesn’t that make YOU a thief
too, regardless?
The fact remains also, there hasn’t been a means of stopping
spammers that has worked yet. Will they be somehow able to turn
this idea around and use it against the Internet population?
I can understand the anger, frustration and the sometimes, sheer
desperation that some may feel after having been an especially
badly ‘bashed’ spam victim, but doesn’t this type of ‘payback’
solution smack of ‘Internet vigilantism’ or ‘taking the law into
one’s own hands’ (something that is wrong and dangerous, no
matter how justified and tempting it may seem to be)?
Apart from the obvious ‘dragging down to their level’ in which
this method results, isn’t it illegal? Are the people who have
put together this web page and promoted it’s use in danger of
the authorities deciding that they too, are contributing to the
daily plague of spam? I do hope not, as I know their intentions
are based in a sense of fighting a huge, common evil.
I heard that the first ‘high profile’ case against a spammer in
the U.S., resulting in a hefty jail term, concluded only last
week. I know that the wheels of ‘justice’ do turn slowly, in
almost everything but I believe the reason for that is so that
mistakes and more injustices do not result.
That is my concern with Internet citizens deciding to, as I
said, take the law into their own hands and perhaps overlooking
where their actions may backfire, or worse, give the spammer an
even more powerful tool with which to assault their victims. I
shudder to think what spammers, especially those who fall victim
to this new idea, might do if they find the identity or email
addresses of the devisor/s of this idea.
We have relatively new laws to deal with spam and it’s
perpetrators. As I said, there has been, to my knowledge only
one ‘notable’ and ‘highly publicized’ instance of the law at
work, where the Internet community has been able to feel a sense
of ‘justice’ and, yes……payback, revenge, whatever. Give the
Law a chance.
Again, I do understand the need for action and I know exactly
how people feel about those who would spoil one of the
communication, information and media marvels of this, and the
last century. However, I think we need to, at least, give the
law a chance to make a difference before we even think about
resorting to such means to dissuade spammers from plying their
trade. If to no one else, we owe it to ourselves.

Texas Hold ‘em is a poker game that has taken the world by storm. So what is it about this particular poker game that created such a sensation? There are several points that play into the popularity of the game, including the “star status” achieved by some of the professional players. Add to that the fact that the game is fairly easy to learn for anyone who has a rudimentary knowledge of poker – instantly allowing groups of people to gather to play in games and tournaments that mimic those World Poker Tours as seen on television.
In the largest cities and smallest communities around the country, people are meeting up to play Texas Hold ‘em. Though some don’t limit their poker playing to only this one game, many groups are holding Texas Hold ‘em tournaments as their main draw. Words like “river,” “flop” and “pocket pair” are bandied about during these poker games, just as they are during the major poker games being televised.
And while the folks who play in those local tournaments aren’t likely to ever be the stars of their Las Vegas counterparts, there’s no doubt that some of the winners (and losers) are taking their cues from the World Poker Tour stars.
Phil Helmuth is arguably one of the best-known poker players on television today, but it’s not only because he has won so many poker tournaments. It’s also because Phil is such a character. He’s been known to throw a fit (on television) when things aren’t going his way. He once made the comment that he’d just been beaten by someone who couldn’t even spell poker, and that those winning at his table simply weren’t playing right. Despite his attitude (which even he admits is often childish), he’s very successful and has written books on playing poker.
Mike Madison is another of the poker stars, also a winner but also a very vocal player. “Mike the Mouth,” as he’s known on the professional circuit, often spouts off to other players at the table. Both Madison and Helmuth are often chastised – both by officials and by fans – for their behavior.
But it isn’t the game that makes these men noisy and obnoxious. There are some true gentlemen sitting at those same tables. Doyle Brunson is often described as a “poker legend.” Brunson is older than many of the professional players, has won some impressive tournaments, and never ceases to be professional and polite.
Whether it’s on television or gathered around a table in a home in rural America, there’s no doubt that Texas Hold ‘em poker has become the game to play. Even if it’s only in your own home town, you may find yourself being labeled the next “poker gentleman” like Brunson, or the next “poker crybaby.”

5 Tips to Creating a Shirt that is not only authentic but also Expensive!
You probably will not start the hobby out as much of a tailor. My first few handmade items were a joke, but eventually I got to where I can put together a good uniform.
Basic sewing skills are all you need to skyrocket the authenticity and value of your Civil War uniform shirt.
1. To start, you could purchase a shirt that is already made that has machine buttonholes in it and rework the buttonholes to make it look more authentic. Take a seam ripper and pick out the buttonholes and handwork them.
2. I would stay away from shirts that were real fancy. Check original photographs to get a feel for the appropriate style for your Civil War uniform shirt.
3. I would pick out and redo by hand all exposed machine stitching. Someone can show you how to do that in about 15 minutes.
4. You should have about 6-7 stitches per inch. You have just increased the value of your shirt and made it more authentic.
5. Most shirts were privately obtained although shirts were issued at times even including blue striped British army issue.
Basic sewing skills are easy to learn and very useful. Learning how to sew can also make you not only an authentic Civil War Uniform shirt, but can increase your bank account as well.

The spinal bath is another important form of hydrotherapic treatment. This bath provides a soothing effect to the spinal column and thereby influences the central nervous system. It is given in a specially designed tub with its back raised so as to provide proper support to the head. The bath can be administered at cold, neutral and hot temperatures. The water level in the tub should be an inch and a half to two inches and the patient should lie in it for three to 10 minutes.
The cold spinal bath relieves irritation, fatigue, hypertension and excitement. It is beneficial in almost all nervous disorders such as hysteria, fits, mental disorders, loss of memory and tension. The neutral spinal bath is a soothing and sedative treatment, especially for the highly strung and irritable patient. It is the ideal treatment for insomnia and also relieves tension of the vertebral column. The duration of this bath is 20 to 30 minutes.
The hot spinal bath, on the other hand, helps to stimulate the nervous, especially when they are in a depressed state. It also relieves vertebral pain in spondylitis and muscular backache. It relieves sciatic pain and gastrointestinal disturbances of gastric origin.

This is the question all mothers face as their due date nears.
Whichever choice you make either to breastfeed or bottle-feed be
sure to stick with it. It’s not a good choice to try to
breastfeed and bottle-feed at the same time. The mother’s nipple
and the bottles nipple is very different shape, the baby will
find it easier to suck on the bottle nipples and may cause
problems when trying to suck from its mother’s nipple. This can
cause the baby not to get enough to eat when breastfeeding.
Be sure to take your baby in for regular check-ups, your
pediatrician will be able to tell you if the baby is gaining
weight and getting the proper nutrition it needs. It is also
reassuring to know just how your baby is doing and allows the
mother a chance to ask their pediatricians any questions they
may have.
Nutritionally, breast milk is the best, it has not been
duplicated exactly yet and probably will never be. It provides
nutrients that help in baby’s brain development. Breast milk
will protect the baby from illnesses, as long as they are
breastfeeding they are protected by a much more developed immune
system than their own, moms. Babies tolerate breast milk more
than formula milk, it rarely cause gastric problems and are less
likely to be over weight.
Here is a short list of something’s that can affect a mother’s
milk supply:
1. What the mother eats
2. Mothers nursing techniques
3. Mothers nursing capabilities
4. Amount of rest and sleep mother gets
5. Mothers state of mind
6. Mothers desire to nurse
7. Baby’s ability to latch on to mothers nipple
Formulas have come a long way and are packed with nutrients. If
Bottle-feeding is your choice you will find a wide range of
formulas to choose from. It has been said that breastfed babies
form a special bond with their mothers. I’m sure that a bottle
fed baby forms just as strong bond with its mother while being
held in her loving arms close to her body, hearing her familiar
heart beat while feeding.
Breastfeed or bottle-feed it all boils down to what is best for
you and your baby. Whichever way you choose a mothers love is
the same, constant and true. Enjoy every moment!

Do you know the benefits on the Internet today when searching for a lender to refinance your mortgage?
It definitely can be a daunting task and even an agonizing search to get lined up with a refinanced mortgage with better terms and rates.
Here are some tips:
Tip 1. Security and personal information
No one likes unsolicited propositions and today there are companies that take your privacy very seriously. The last thing you want is to simply make an enquiry and then to be barraged with Mortgage lenders that seem to come out of the woodwork. Reputable companies will display on their web site how your personal information is used and what is collected. Never deal with a web site that does not clearly indicate how your personal information is used and what a steps they take to prevent fraud.
Tip 2: Competing lenders under one roof
There are dedicated companies on the internet today that are not actual lending institutions but provide you with multiple financial service providers that want to compete for your business. This is a big advantage for you in a competitive marketplace because it really reduces the time searching for a lender with a mortgage that has better rates than their competitors.
Tip 3: Know your only shopping to refinance your mortgage
When different lenders contact you, let them know that you are comparing their Refinance options and rates with other lenders. They don’t necessary want to lose you to the competition and may even go to better lengths to get a better rate than their competitors.
Tip 4: No cost to you for information
Reputable financial institutions know that they are competing for your hard earned dollars and getting information to you should not cost anything. It is only after you decide to go with a certain lender and the deal closes, then transactions complete.
Tip 5: You are not committed to any lender for a quote
Companies that provide you with multiple lenders and the financial institutions giving you their quotes know that you are doing comparison-shopping for better mortgage rates and terms. You are under no obligation to go with a certain lender when you receive a quote. Even when you have all the information, it is your choice to go with a certain lender or to stay with your current mortgage lender.
In Conclusion, more than ever today, many companies take your privacy very seriously especially in the prevention of fraud. Instead of hunting for a lender one by one, there are companies dedicated to provide multiple lenders saving you a time-consuming search process. There should never be any cost or obligation to getting the information you need to make better decisions. Lenders will even give the extra effort knowing the competition may take your business possibly giving a better refinance deal than expected.

How many times has this happened to you in a relationship? After
it blows up, and you’re sitting there with your broken heart
trying to figure out what went wrong, it pops right into your
head — he said he would never get married, he said he wasn’t
ready, he said he was too afraid of getting hurt… He told you
these things, perhaps more than once, and you didn’t hear it.
If this is a pattern for you, you need to break it, so let’s
take a look at this from the Emotional Intelligence standpoint.
First of all, many times when I use the term “emotional
intelligence” to men who aren’t familiar with it, they laugh and
say there’s no such thing, or that it’s an oxymoron, i.e., the
two can never go together. I’ve never heard this from a woman!
Right there is a key point. Men are not as easy with emotions.
They tend to confuse pure sexual attraction with “love.” When
they’re ‘on point’ as I call it (you know, like a bird dog who’s
found the treasure), he isn’t thinking. He’s likely to be what’s
called “flooded.” Chemicals and hormones are rushing around that
preclude thinking. If you’re in the same state, who’s listening?
So prepare yourself for the dating scene. Know who you are and
what you want. If a man comes along who gives you a real zing,
stop and think. Take a look at who he is, and how he’s living
his life at this time. Find out what you can about his history
and do it early on.
One thing you can count on, in the early days of romance men are
much freer about what they will tell you. The love chemicals
kind of grease the brain and they say lots of lovely things, but
also will “blurt out” very informative things – things you need
to hear, and to keep in mind.
After her 13- month relationship with Tony broke up, my client
Alison told me that early on, when they were off on a lovely
vacation, Tony had told her something she should’ve paid
attention to. They were dancing at a beach bar in Cancun, the
sun was shining, there was laughter and music and margaritas all
over the place, and a lot of beautiful woman (besides Alison),
and he had laughed and said, “One woman would never be enough
for me.”
It took Alison 13 months to live this out and find it was true.
When she was ready for a commitment, she got nothing but
stalling. Eventually she caught him dating another woman, and at
that point she couldn’t ignore reality any more. He had said one
woman would never be enough for him, and yes, he had meant it.
There are times when we all say things we don’t mean. In fact it
comes up early in dating when we start to feel like getting
serious and maybe are having a little case of the nerves. Dating
at midlife, we don’t get to approach a clean slate like we do in
our 20s. We step into the current of someone else’s life and
there’s what we call “baggage.” But at the same time, this
“baggage” gives you the opportunity to see what the person’s
history is. It’s best to keep in mind what you know will work
for you, and what won’t, and to stick to it when the emotions
are running high.
Let’s take the example of male fidelity. However you feel about
this intellectually, you know in your heart whether you can
tolerate it or not. So let’s say it’s on your list of “must
haves” that you want a man who will be faithful. When you meet
someone, no matter how attractive he is, before you fall head
over heels and the flowers and sweet words are warping your
thinking brain, check it out. Find out his history. Ask around,
look around. Give it some thought, and get some coaching to see
what’s a pattern in his past, and what’s a mistake he’s been
able to learn from. The more you understand about how the male
brain works, the better the dating and the better the eventual
partnership.
Then distance yourself from the emotions, and take a cold, hard
look at how things are in the present. Notice how he acts when
he’s with you, not just what he says, or promises. Get some help
and guidance with this, because it’s important.
You need to know what you’re getting in for before you’re in
deep water. In response to our extensive research and interviews
with women about “the other woman,” we started a very discrete
investigative and coaching service with this in mind. Most women
find it’s best to do this at arm’s length, and let someone else
with a clearer head and experience do the work and provide some
direction. There are certain clues that can tip you off ahead of
time, and “a stitch in time, saves 9.” In this case it can save
your heart, time and energy, all of which are important.
Important also, is that it can save you adding negative
“baggage” to your own scene. Know those women who are in to
“male bashing?” Stick with the good guys and you won’t have to
go there.
Intuition is a major part of EQ. If you’re hearing things, or
seeing things that send off an alarm, don’t ignore them. Take
action while you’re still thinking clearly. The longer you stay
in a relationship, the more likely you’ll get into your own head
and get confused; that’s what “love” is all about.
You don’t want to be “sadder but wiser” again, do you? Use your
EQ and start dating the emotionally intelligent way – using both
your head AND your heart.
