Refrigerator Cleaning 101

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Cleaning your refrigerator never seems to top your priority list until you’ve already made your weekly grocery shopping excursion. Don’t deny it. You were scouring the aisles like a maniac, as though you were a contestant on SuperMarket Sweep, not once remembering the filth that lies ahead. You arrive home, open the refrigerator door and feast your eyes on what could surely become the next biggest horror film…Rotten decaying vegetables, last months forgotten moldy leftovers, hardened orange juice spills and something gray and furry hiding behind an expired jar of mayonnaise.

Now, you’ve no idea where you are going to put all this newly purchased food. So, what do you do? You start tossing the obvious to make room and forget all about it. Until next week when you repeat the process all over again.

Don’t fret, there is a simple solution just ahead. But, first, mark a date on your calendar, before you go grocery shopping next week, to clean that filthy refrigerator. I know it sounds silly, making a date with your refrigerator, but be honest, are you going to remember to clean it?

The first thing you want to do is turn off the refrigerator and unplug it. Remove all food and condiments. Put perishable items in a cooler to keep them fresh, making sure to check the expiration date. Discard anything questionable. Take out all crisper drawers and wash them by hand in the sink. Leave them to air dry.

Now, you are ready to battle what has become the longest running scientific experiment known to your family, or what is commonly referred to as, the refrigerator.

Starting from the top and working your way down, wipe with a solution of dishwashing liquid and one gallon of warm water, and lot‘s of elbow grease. If it’s quite odiferous, use baking soda instead of soap. If you see anything that looks as though it has become permanently affixed, place a heated bowl of vinegar in your refrigerator for about five minutes. The steam will loosen up those stuck-on foods and hardened spills.

Once you have fought the battle and won, take a clean cloth and rinse everything down with plain water. Dry it with a towel or leave it to air dry. Now, that your refrigerator is sparkling clean reacquaint your crisper drawers to their spotless home.

Let’s not forget to clean the outside. Wipe the top and sides down, and while you’re at it, grab the vacuum and get those coils behind the refrigerator, too. If you are so inclined, add a box of baking soda or a small bowl of kitty litter to keep it smelling fresh. Voila!

Your family will thank you for saving them from food borne illness. Okay, maybe they won’t, but at least you’ll know that the apple they are eating was purchased last week and not last month.

4 Reasons to Create Your Own Podcast for Your Business or Hobby

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Podcasting is a powerful, inexpensive and easy new medium for sharing your message with a focused and passionate audience. As a podcaster you’ll become a recognized expert in your area of interest or expertise.

You can use podcasting to boost your credibility, build your list of customers and gain a fan base very quickly. This makes podcasting a great tool to promote a product or service.

Here are four reasons you need to start a podcast today whether for fun or for business.

1. Become a Recognized Expert or Celebrity in Your Chosen Niche

How would you like to be recognized as an authority in your area of interest or expertise? Podcasts are popping up all over the internet on every imaginable subject.

But things are just getting started. Chances are you can still be one of the first to start a podcast in your chosen niche.

You can quickly be recognized as an expert in your field. This is a powerful way to build a following or strong customer base.

Think about when you hear or see someone on the radio or TV. They have instant credibility. As a podcaster you will enjoy the same credibility. People will value your opinion.

You can leverage this position to influence your audience, promote yourself and even make money. If you have an audience that is interested in a specific niche, there will always be others who want to reach that audience, too. This is how you find advertisers or sponsors.

2. Quickly Gain a Very Focused Audience

With the right content, you will gain listeners fast. Not only that, but your audience is potentially worldwide. You can offer quality content to keep in touch with your customers and keep yourself, your product or your service in the front of their mind.

Podcasting is a great way to cut through the clutter and reach your audience. This is not like the radio where your listener is waiting for something that interests him. He has chosen to listen to your podcast because it interests him.

This makes podcasts very effective for promotion, marketing and growing a focused audience.

3. Podcasting is a Convenient, Automatic and Inexpensive Way to Reach Your Audience or Customers

One reason that podcasting has become so popular is that it’s automated. Listeners subscribe to your feed. This means they don’t have to remember to return your site to check for new content. When you post new content, it’s automatically downloaded to your listener.

Because listeners subscribe to podcasts, they have chosen to receive your content. They have already shown interest in your message by subscribing. In addition, a podcast does not get lost in SPAM like with e-mail. You can be sure your message is reaching a focused audience.

This means your content automatically reaches your audience without any barriers increasing the efficiency and ease of delivering your message.

Because your podcast is delivered over the internet, it’s a very inexpensive means of communication.

4. With Equipment You Probably Already Own and For Very Little Cost, Your Podcast Could be Online in Just Hours

All you need to start your podcast is a computer, a microphone and a broadband internet connection. Later, you can buy nicer gear if you want. For now you can get started with very little cost. All you need is something to say and a desire to say it.

If you were to try and do the same thing on the radio, you would have to face all kinds of FCC regulations to learn and follow. Plus you would have the expense of broadcasting. Podcasting removes all of that cost and trouble.

With my how to podcast tutorial web site, your first podcast can be online in less than a day.

SUMMARY

Podcasting is a powerful and easy way to reach a focused audience. Whether for fun or to make money, podcasting allows you to easily reach a focused and loyal audience. You can brand yourself as an expert or celebrity in your niche.

G8 to discuss world debt while Scots lack basic financial understanding.

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Last week saw the launch of Scotland’s Financial Inclusion
Forum, and with it requests were issued for local authorities,
banks, and other financial institutions, to work together to
generate and share ideas to help people take control of their
own finances. Those attending the forum were asked to help
ensure, “that poverty is not exacerbated by lack of access to
financial services”.

Deputy community minister, Johann Lamont, said: “It is simply
unacceptable that in Scotland there are areas where as many as
one in five people have little or no experience of using the
basic financial services so many of us take for granted such as
bank accounts and insurance.“ “I expect banks, the local
authorities, housing associations, community planning partners,
credit unions and other key players to work together to provide
access to bank accounts and affordable credit; to make saving
possible and help people understand and manage their everyday
finances and ensure that information and advice are available
when people get into debt.” The new initiative is intended to
provide £10m in support over 2 years in an effort to help the 10
local authorities with the worst problems to overcome the
concerns that prevent as many as one in five people in some
localities opening a bank account or buying insurance.

With the amount of help already in the public arena from the
likes of Which? ( http://www.which.net/ ), and the growth in
financial comparison web sites like Moneynet (
http://www.moneynet.co.uk ). This move should hopefully go some
way to overcoming the fear and financial inertia experienced by
many people over their own personal finance.

Health Club Regulars – Some of the People You’re Likely To M

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

One of the great benefits of belonging to a health club is the huge variety of exercise equipment that’s available. It’s also a great place to meet and observe a wide cross section of society. Here are just a few of the more notable health club regulars:

1. Screaming Banshee –- We’ve all been focused on our workout when out of nowhere comes a blood-curdling sound from the corner of the weight room. You look over and there’s a guy doing laterals with 20 lb dumbbells. It doesn’t matter what the exercise or weight is –- he’s screaming with every rep. If it helps his workouts, then more power to him! It certainly makes a good case for a Walkman.

2. The Strainer –- The Strainer can often be observed loading up a barbell or weight stack with poundage that he is unable to perform even a single rep in good form with. A favorite exercise of the Strainer is the triceps press down machine. He will position the pin almost near the bottom of the weight stack and then proceed to wrestle the stack downward with every ounce of his being. It’s truly painful to watch, but like a car wreck, it’s hard to look away.

After using most all of the muscles in his upper body along with several in his lower, he finally manages to complete a rep. “That’s one!” Yep, only nine more to go. Oh yeah, don’t bother trying to be helpful and tell him to use less weight. You’ll only be greeted with a nasty glare.

3. iPod Head Banger –- this is usually a young person, male or female, who seems to have ear buds permanently implanted into their head. Music can be a great inspiration during your workouts, but these folks turn the volume up to 11. Of course everyone in the immediate area can groove to the same jams due to the sound leaking out from their ear buds.

The hazard is that Mr. or Ms Head Banger is usually oblivious to their surroundings and you’ll need to shout to get their attention if the need arises. At least you can hear them coming and give them a wide berth.

4. Stanley Steamer –- it’s hard to believe, but there are people who actually use their gym memberships just to avail themselves of the locker room amenities. Take Stanley Steamer for example. He may come in on his lunch hour or after work and do some quick cardio work and then it’s right back to the locker room. The cardio work is just a pretext for what comes next.

He then will do alternating shifts between the dry sauna and steam room until he’s sweated out every last drop of water from his body. This process can go on for up to an hour. “Great for the pores!” he’ll tell you as he stands there glistening like a Thanksgiving Butterball. You go Stan!

5. Ken and Barbie –- there are some gym regulars who are so genetically gifted that they have gone into permanent “maintenance mode” for they’re training. Their routines consist of a solid core of shaping exercises with the strict rule that they must never, under any circumstances, ever shed one drop of sweat!

No hair is out of place and they look spectacular in their Lycra workout gear. In fact, you seem to never see them wearing anything else, even outside of the gym.

6. Chatty Cathy –- Cathy is a relatively new species that has evolved with the proliferation of cell phones and the trend to use them no matter where we are. She will take up position on the adductor machine and wait for a call –- any call –- which soon arrives without fail.

She’ll talk away for minutes on end. Occasionally passing the cell phone to any friends who have joined her for a “workout”. She’ll use these breaks to get in a few reps on whatever machine she’s parked herself on. Just to be fair and balanced, there are also plenty of Chatty Carls as well.

7. Swiss Ball Magician –- this is usually either a personal trainer or staff member who has learned a large repertoire of stability ball exercises from a special course or secret training manual. I marvel at the endless variety of moves they possess!

They’re on top of the ball, under it, along side it, between the legs with it, and around the back. They make the Harlem Globe Trotters look like pikers! Actually, I pay close attention when they’re around and try to cop some of their moves.

All of these types are well-meaning folks and they are certainly preferable to some of the knuckleheads that sometimes show up at the gym. They make going to the gym the enjoyable and enriching experience that it is.

Do You Want To Free Yourself Of Heart Diseases?

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

If the answer is yes, then follow the following steps to
minimize the risk of heart attack:

1. Take out time to relax and do proper exercises.
Cardiovascular exercise is must for people who have already
experienced heart attack. Exercise not only reduces the risk of
heart attack, it also relives us of tiresome schedule by making
us stress free.

living unhealthy and unhealthy thinking is one of the main
causes of the heart disease. After nurturing positive hopes we
will start feeling good about ourselves as well as relieved. You
will find yourself on top of the world. Feel yourself enjoying
everything.

our carbohydrates, fats and blood pressure.

Why A Final Inspection Is Necessary

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

In the sales contract, the sellers of your new home agreed to leave all the light fixtures, custom blinds, and refrigerator. When you walk in the home on moving day, to your surprise, all of those things are gone. In addition, the locks on the back door are broken; there is a huge stain on the living room carpet, and the garage opener doesn’t work.

Although this may be extreme, it could happen, which is why it is important to have a final inspection of the home you are purchasing before the closing. A pre-closing inspection gives you one last opportunity to verify that you are getting all that was promised in the sales contract. Although buyers still have legal recourse if they discover—even after closing—that the condition of the home is not as it should be. The best time to identify problems is before closing when the seller will be motivated to correct any deficiencies in order to close the transaction.

Typically, a buyer takes possession of a property one to three months after signing the sales agreement. But, a lot can happen before the actual move-in. Appliances and fixtures can break down, and walls, carpets and doors can be damaged during the seller’s move-out. Sometimes the seller will simply have forgotten that he or she has agreed to leave the refrigerator or window coverings with the house. Whatever the reason, problems identified before the closing have the best chance of being remedied.

If possible, schedule the inspection right before the closing, such as the day before. Ask your real estate professional to attend the inspection with you. What should you be inspecting? Using a copy of the sales contract as a checklist, first make sure that all items that should be in place (appliances, built-in furniture, window coverings, fixtures, etc.) are there.

Test each appliance to make sure they work properly. Bring along an electrical clock or radio to test each electrical outlet. Test all electrical switches and the garage door opener, if there is one. Run the garbage disposal and turn on every water faucet, checking under the sinks for leaks. Flush the toilets. Inspect the floors, carpets, walls and doors for recent damage.

If you discover that something is damaged or missing, make a note of it and inform your real estate professional immediately. In most cases, the seller is usually able to take care of small problems immediately, either by making a needed repair or offering compensation to handle it. And, if there are major problems, the seller can even sign a statement acknowledging the deficiency and agree to correct it. Although pre-closing inspections take time and may be inconvenient, they are important and well worth the buyer’s time.

New Bankruptcy Laws

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

George Bush’s Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act is going to make it much harder for everyday folks like you and me to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the most common type of bankruptcy that there is. This is the type that allows you to write off your debt while keeping your car and your primary residence.

With the new laws you will instead have to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, which is a whole different process. With Chapter 13 you will have to pay back most of your debts, the only change they have made to this law is that instead of 3 years you will now have 5 years to get back on track. There is a formula that will determine just how much you will have to pay your creditors.

George Bush’s Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act has most people wondering if they are going to be eligible for Chapter 7. To find out for sure you will have to pass a means test and if it turns out that your total yearly income is greater than the median income of the state that you live in then you will not be able to apply for Chapter 7.

Most of your retirement savings will be safe when you file for bankruptcy under the new law. Your IRAs will be safe up to the one million mark and rollover IRAs do not even have a limit so they are protected as well. You can also repay pension loans. All of this means that you will still have a secure future when you get to retirement age, which is a major concern for all of us.

Your home will be exempt from creditors but this does not mean that you can file away some of your assets in a brand new home. When you file you will have had to be living in your current house for at least forty months or else the amount exempt will be capped at $125,000.

World Cup 2006 Preview - Ghana

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Outright Odds: 250/1
Group E Winners: 12/1

After winning four African Cup of Nations titles and producing players of the calibre of Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah, the Black Stars have qualified for the World Cup finals for the first time in 10 attempts, stretching back to 1962.

Despite being a force in African football between the 1960s and 1980s, qualification for the World Cup was never a serious exercise and more recently the country suffered from poor management both on and off the pitch to scupper their attempts to reach the 1994, 1998 and 2002 finals.

However, this problem was eradicated under new manager Ratomir Dujkovic. The Serbian took over in December 2004 after Portuguese coach Mariano Barreto quit four months earlier. Dujkovic enjoyed success with Rwanda, leading a team dubbed as no hopers to their first African Cup of Nations finals in 2004.

His influence was clear as Ghana won four of their five remaining qualifying fixtures, including a 2-0 away victory over South Africa and eventually topping their group by five points at the expense of the Bafana Bafana.

Where Ghana excel is in midfield. Chelsea’s Michael Essien is a key player for his country and has also shone at club level, despite criticism of his £24.4 million price tag imposed by former club Lyon. They are captained by left-footed Stephen Appiah who now plys his trade at Turkish outfit Fenerbahce following eight seasons in Italy with Udinese, Parma, Brescia and Juventus. Sulley Muntari also brings with him Serie A experience as he is currently on the books at Udinese.

Ghana have been boosted in defence by the return of Roma centre half Samuel Kuffor. The former Bayern Munich defender was out of favour following a dispute with the coach but since apologising he is back in contention. Even without him Ghana boasted a mean defence, conceding just four goals in 10 qualifying matches, the least of any African nation.

Despite a strong setup, Ghana go into their World Cup group as the unfancied outsiders which could work to their advantage. They are pitted against one of the tournament favourites in Italy on their opening match so there is no real pressure for them. The team have gelled well under Dujkovic and are capable of causing an opening match upset.

Beyond that they could struggle as they lack players with a true cutting edge in attack. The responsibility will be on Vitesse’s Matthew Amoah and Modena’s 20-year old striker Gyan Asamoah.

Recommended Bet:
Ghana are capable of catching out slow-starters Italy in their first match and qualifying from the group would be a major success. Further tough games against the Czech Republic and USA could see the Black Stars narrowly miss out.

Ghana to beat Italy @ 5/1

Watch Profits Explode in 2006 by Opening an Ebay Store- The Professional Way!

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

“What’s the best way to go about Opening an Ebay store ?”

I am asked this question all the time…

An ebay store is one step higher than having just an ebay ID. You have a whole store which you can categorize and sell your items. It is usefully to open a store if you have a vast stock of items to sell, and you sell regularly. Powersellers have ebay stores.

The best is to sell brand new wholesale goods available from wholesalers. This one of the most easiest ways that people are using to earn a secondary income, by working from the comfort of their home.

Advantages of an ebay store?

-You can manage the items you are selling on ebay more easily + effectively.

-It feels more professional having a store, rather than just the basic listing page.

-You can put your auction items in catagories

-if you sell loads of items regularly or are a powerseller, then your buyers have more ease searching for items as they are catagories. More happy buyers = more sales, its that simple!

There are 3 levels of an ebay shop which you have to pay for using monthly subscriptions.
Basic Store ($15.95/month). Featured Store ($49.95/month), Anchor Store ($499.95/month*)
These depend on the amount of stock you are selling on ebay and how regularly you are selling.

Its best to start of with the basic store, which they are offering for Free for the first month, so why not give it a try ?

Things you should know.

The great thing about an ebay store is that you can edit the store colour + features to your needs, and be unique. You can have a red store, orange, purple, the choice is up to you.
You can also change the layout, your heading/name etc.

I teach hundreds of people a day on how to effectively open an ebay store.

Techno Witch II - Magick With Your PC

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

You’ve heard of applied science, well how about applied Magick. The personal computer is just a tool after all, so in theory you should be able to apply the ancient traditions to the modern ways. Here are a few ways that I think you can use your PC to practice metaphysics.

The Gods, Goddesses and energies that oversee the running of you computer include Mercury (Hermes) the God of Communication, Ariadne (the Weaver), the Archangel Gabriel (the Angel of Illumination, Vachu (the Hindu Goddess of Mystic Speech) or Chango, the God of Thunderbolts. If you are having computer problems light a red and blue candle to honour Mercury (for server and email problems), a purple candle to honour Ariadne (for site problems), Temple or Lotus incense to access Vachu (who can help with forwarding files), a yellow candle to access the wisdom of the Archangel Gabriel (to figure out how to get a program running) or a red candle to honour Chango (for problems with electricity).

When sending a resume or an important file …you can practice a bit of magic by creating a symbol for yourself to hide somewhere in the file or in the email. This symbol can represent success to you or prosperity. For instance $ would be an obvious one. Try creating, with a series of letters, numbers or symbols that are significant to you –a sigil that is attached to your emails. It is easy to create a sigil. Take a phrase such as “Money Come To Me” and shorten it to “MCTM” or “mctm” and put it in your tag before you send an important document. There are many sites on the web that teach you how to make a more obscure sigil using numbers and letters- just type the word sigil into your search engine. Once you create the sigil, blow it up into 24 point on your computer and “charge it’ by focusing your intent onto the symbol. Keep the master sigil in a file and attach a 9-point version to the bottom of files or emails.

Has someone sent you a nasty email? Don’t respond with words. Try this version of a reversal spell. Send the email back to them nine times. If nine times seems too much, send it back three times. This follows the rule of sending back bad energy to its sender three times three times three. After reading their own words, nine times, this may cause the sender to rethink their malevolence. Also effective, is sending the sender back a BLANK email. Press reply, erase all text and charge the blank screen with what you want to say. Send it. The person who sent you the bad email in the first place will probably react with confusion and some fear. NOBODY likes to open a blank email. The blank email has a way of clearing the problem.

You can use the naming and retrieving of files, to bring more luck, prosperity and love in your life. To do this you need to create a folder and fill it with files that contain one word such as LOVE, MONEY, and LUCK. Inside each of these files put a list of words that relate to your goal … for instance in the file marked money write things such as Quick Cash, Relief From Debt, Prosperity, New Car or what ever you desire. Put these files on your desktop, so each time you start up your computer, you are retrieving the magical energy of the words inside the files.

Turn your mouse into a Magick Mouse by storing it overnight inside a box or a “sleeping bag” that contains a coin, a sprig of rosemary, and a paper heart. There is an old saying that a “mouse in the house brings luck to the house. ‘ Every time you click your mouse, the energies represented by what you have stored in its “sleeping bag” is said to infuse your life with lucky energy.

Another good way to manifest magic is to use your screen saver. Try to choose imagery that supports your magickal intent… for instance, images of waterfalls and running water symbolize money, images of flowers represent love and images of clouds and sun represent the acquisition of experience and wisdom.

Never underestimate the power of a password either. When you choose login names or passwords, try and choose names that attract positive energy. For instance the password name “fatdope” might just attract more fat dopes into your sphere. Remember the cosmic principle of “like attracts like.”

Good times to do computer magic would be noon or on a Sunday, which are times influenced by the Sun, during the signs of Aquarius, Gemini or Libra which all relate to communication and are ruled by the planet Mercury.
