How a 25 Year Old Asian Man Stumbled Upon a Sweet and Delicious Cure for Acne Permanently!

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

When dealing with acne, we somehow have the gut feeling that our diets do affect us. Well, you’re absolutely correct! It’s a proven fact because the toxic substances contained in certain food will cause your liver and kidney to overwork. Thus the skin, being a natural waste disposal organ will take over some of the tasks, and end up contaminated with the toxin which you chowed down so heartily at the diner’s just hours ago.

I recently discovered a natural cure for acne when I was holding a potluck in my house a little while ago. As everyone needed to contribute some food or beverage in a potluck, I opted to provide the drinks and some other light snacks. Little did I know that the drink I concocted will give me a surprise when I woke up the next day and looked into the mirror. Needless to say I was an instant believer in my own accidental discovery! Here are the secret ingredients:

First ingredient: Apple – Make the apple juice and add some of the pulp into the juice for some texture. Grind the seed to fine powdery texture and mix a bit of the apple seed into the juice, not too much, but just a little. It may create a powdery texture but it’s beneficial as it can effectively clean your colon. Apple contains lots of pectin, which is helpful in maintaining a good digestive system. Pectin also acts as an antioxidant which protects certain skin related diseases like acne. A dirty colon will keep toxic substances locked in your body, which will eventually flare up on our skin. So a clean colon is essential in keeping our skin healthy and clear.

Second ingredient: Pineapple - The enzymes found in the pineapple will fight free-radical damage and also cleanse the skin by dissolving blackheads and dead cells from the skin’s surface. Thus also unclogs the skin and prevents buildup of acne and pimples. Generally, pineapples heal the skin.

Third Ingredient: Cucumber – Cucumbers are hydrating, nourishing and they possess astringent properties. Cucumbers have the same pH level as the skin, thus they aid to restore the skin’s protective and natural acid mantle. Constant ingestion will cool our body system and serve to sooth and smooth our skin. Having a cool body system will reduce the risks of getting acne and other pimples related breakouts.

By mixing the juices of these three natural fruits and vegetables together in equal portions, one will have a natural and healthy cleanser which will maintain body balance and clear up our acne with consistent intake.

Our skin is the barometer of our health and therefore, good skin is a sign of a good health, particularly our digestive system. Acne patients often have poor digestive systems and may get constipation from time to time. With daily consumption of this concoction for at least three weeks, anyone and I mean ANYONE will be able to see the beneficial effect promised in this article! GUARANTEED! No, I don’t sell fruits.

Faucet Selections

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

The dictionary defines a “faucet” as ‘A device for regulating the flow of a liquid from a reservoir such as a pipe or drum’. This is a bit older explanation not able to describe the utility of the modern faucets. The modern day faucets are something more than a regulator of the flow of water.

They provide a variety of functions in the kitchen or in the bath. The kitchen faucets comes with pullout and pull down sprays facilities for water filtering all in a variety of makes and styles where as the faucets in the bath are plenty available with fine matching accessories to suit the taste and likes of the consumer. However, it would be ideal to follow certain basic principles to make the best use of bath faucets.

Let us start with the bath. High spouts always facilitate easy washing of hands and filling water in cups or tumblers in the bath . The water purification system build in the faucets also makes available purified water for brushing of teeth and mouth washing protecting the teeth with the fluoride in tact. There are even faucets that provide cold drinking water without losing any of its natural minerals by passing the water softening system.

Leaky faucets are a perennial problem. The best way to prevent leaks is to provide a washer free or cartridge based faucet. The latter variety avoids the frequent need to change the misfit or worn out washers. These faucets provide a leak-less performance though out its life. This one-piece technology is conducive for a hassle free usage. The cartridge replacement is a one minute affair by taking out the old one and replacing it with the new one.

Like all plumbing products faucets also calls for quality material for durability and better service. It is always better not to be ‘penny wise pound foolish’. Instead of going for cheaper variety of brands, faucets made of good and durable metals like brass or copper makes the life easier in the long run. These faucets not only give you a superior performance but also present an elegant appearance in the bath. The faucets manufacturers offer a plethora of varieties for the modern bath or kitchen. It is your responsibility to choose the best suited for the kitchen or bath.

The industry having standardized the products, there cannot be any confusion with the selection of this accessory. However one needs to understand the basic details of your sink or bath. For example if one needs to select a faucet for the kitchen it would be appropriate to keep in mind the number of mounting holes under the sink. The exact number of the mounting holes may have to be found out if the same is concealed behind the existing faucets and deck.

The faucets for bath are available in two configurations such as the center set and the widespread set. The former is a 4-width type while the latter is of 8-width variety. Though the styles can be changed the size cannot be changed unless of course you want to replace the sink itself in the bath.

Before going to the plumbing accessory shop it is wise to ascertain the size and the type of the water supply lines that normally is either 3/8 inch or ½ inch. The supply hook ups comes in various materials like copper, braided copper and flexible plastic. Having confirmed the size of the of the supply line one has to shut off the water supply, remove the parts and take it into your favorite hardware or DIY store and select the faucets of your choice of the size and type best suited to your bath or kitchen.

The selection and fitting of a faucet may look simple however a wrong and thoughtless selection may prove futile and end up in a perennial problem and a sheer waste of your hard earned money.

The author is a regular contributor to Today’s Faucets where more information about faucet styles, selection and sources is freely available.

Music And Movies Download Sites - Are They A Scam?

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Surfing the Internet, looking for music and movies to download, you will find a lot of so called music and movie download sites. These sites do not provide you with music, or movies to download, no, they provide you with file sharing soft ware you can use to search for, and download music, movies and games. Most of them also provide you with cd burning soft ware and they have a helpdesk for those members who run in to problems with their downloading.

These site are under attack.

First of all there is the entertainment industry that want to shut them down.
They claim that these file sharing programs are used to download copy right protected materials.
This is true of course, but lots of people download and trade files legally on file-sharing networks. You can, for example, legally download music from hundreds of bands and thousands live concerts, as well as multiple software titles and games.
File sharing has enabled music fans from around the world to build the largest library of recorded music in history. File sharing is not illegal as long as you obey and comply with all relevant copyright laws.
Sharing copyrighted material without permission could be illegal in your country.
In america the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) are leading the fight against the sharing of copyrighted music. Others, like hollywood’s MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) are also starting to get involved and are taking legal action against the music and movie download sites.
It will not be easy to shut down these download sites. Especially since the Internet has no borders, it will be an almost impossible task, to get all the countries in the world to agree on how to legislate Internet downloading.

Another attack on music and movies download sites comes from, what I call, seasoned Internet users.
They claim these download sites are a scam, because they charge for something you can get for free.
Well, you could get it for free, that is true.
These download sites provide you with soft ware to search for and download files from the Internet.
They provide you with soft ware to burn these files on a cd should you wish to do so.

All this software is available for free on the Internet, but for an Internet novice it could be a daunting task to look for this kind of soft ware, to decide which soft ware to use, how to use it.On top of that they have to make sure that they do not download spy ware, ad ware or what ever.
Joining a download site and have all the info in one place is not a bad option for most of them.
Another advantage is the fact that these download sites provide a help desk for their members.
Is it a scam if you provide info that people could get for free elsewhere?

Consider this.

You are looking for a telephone number, so you look it up in the phone book.
Say you do not have the right phone book, you can go out looking for it.
You probably can find this free info in the library.

You can also pick up the phone and ring an information service.

They will provide you with this free info
and they will charge you for it.

So, is this information service a scam?

I do not think so, and I also do not think that the music and movies download sites are a scam.

Provided of course that they tell you what you can expect from them before you sign up with them, and that they deliver on this promise

If you want to join a download site, chose one that gives a guaranty that you can have your money back if not satisfied.

Once you have joined, test out everything, especially their helpdesk.

If you have no questions, ask them a few things you know already, just to test their response.

And last but not least, do not hesitate to charge back your money if you are not completely satisfied.

Happy downloading!

How to Create Your Own Monster

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

“You’ve created your own monster, you know”, my mother said ominously. My Rex cat, Houdini, had just burrowed his way inside my sweater for the third time that morning, letting out a squeal of indignation when I tried to resist.

Houdini has separation anxiety. But in his tiny little mind, separation means I’ve been out of his site for at least two minutes. Or I’ve closed the bathroom door and left him on the other side. Or he hasn’t had his ears scratched or his belly rubbed in eons (about ten minutes.) Houdini follows me everywhere, like the most faithful of hounds, and craves my undivided attention almost as much as his next meal.

If all of this seems annoying, it’s not nearly as bad as when the little fellow plunks himself down in front of me and literally tears chunks of his own hair out because I’m not paying attention to him. With Houdini, it’s always been easier just to give in.

My husband takes all of this in stride. My mother, who (fortunately for Houdini) only visits now and then, thinks it’s the height of absurdity.

Growing up under Mom’s roof, I learned that dogs and children should obey, and cats just mind their own business. I adopted my mother’s dog training philosophies successfully. Cleo (a fine-looking mastiff and our now-famous website mascot), is a perfect lady. She’s a wonderful dog with the gift of self composure and not one to question authority. Cleo would never stoop to the kind of antics that are Houdini’s specialty. Besides, she’s too big to crawl inside my sweater.

So why does this particular pet behave like a spoiled child? Why do I give in to him? Is it because I forgot to have children? Mom swears that those little squealing sounds he makes don’t come from a cat. “He’s manipulating you”, she tells me. “He’s learned how to sound like a baby”.

Maybe I’ve got what I like to call “lap dog syndrome”. I’m referring how we treat smaller pets who are easily cuddled and coddled, are highly portable, and who look adorable wearing funny little outfits. Some might call it “empty nest syndrome”.

Consider my Grandmother Rosie and her Toy Poodle, Cocoa.

Cocoa arrived long after Rosie’s children had grown up and left home. Rosie knitted lots of little sweaters and hats for Cocoa to keep him warm and stylish. She kept a mixture of Coke Syrup and Pepto Bismol on hand to settle Cocoa’s nervous stomach. And dog food could never pass his lips, so Grandma cooked fresh chicken for Cocoa every night before sitting down to her own dinner.

We had to spell out “c-o-o-k-i-e” and “P-e-p-t-o B-i-s-m-o-l” around the dog so he wouldn’t get over-excited. And Grandpa Henry was obsessed with keeping Cocoa clean. This was one poodle who never had tear stains under his eyes, and whose little “tushy” was spotless.

Bear in mind that we’re talking about the late 60’s, when treating pets like children wasn’t really “mainstream”.

Today, it’s commonplace. The pet industry is huge, and much of it caters to our desire to spoil our “children”. So these days it’s easier than ever to create your own monster. Besides bending to your dog’s every whim, you can shower her with gourmet treats, dress her to the nines, and offer her a standard of living well above what many of the world’s humans aspire to.

Today, Grandma wouldn’t have to knit any sweaters herself, and there would be plenty of remedies made expressly for Cocoa’s nervous tummy. Grandma wouldn’t board her baby when traveling. Instead, she’d hire a professional pet sitter, or take Cocoa with her to a pet friendly hotel. The hotel might even have a dog gift shop, with lots of squeaky toys and delicious “c-o-o-k-i-e-s”. And Cocoa would go everywhere with Grandma in his own little dog-sized carrying case, probably made from fine imported leather or snakeskin.

I wonder how many owners of large breeds behave this way? Are there other syndromes out there, like “macho dog syndrome” (a guy thing, no doubt)?

The truth is, all pets start out small and cuddly. No one is completely safe from creating their own monster, large or small. So thank goodness there are enough great resources available for anyone to become a virtual dog training expert. (Or cat, or parrot, or horse…)

I’ve learned my lesson with Houdini: It’s much easier to teach your pet the rules from the start. Puppy training is easier than dog training. And un-creating a monster is a heck of a lot tougher than creating one!

But I’m weak. For now, it’s easier just to give in. And besides, it time to rub Houdini’s belly…

Preserving your Photos with Scrapbooking

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

The first thing to do is get those photos out of the magnetic albums immediately and throw away the albums. That takes care of a lot of it right there. But then you might have some pictures that are stuck! You’ll want to remove them very carefully, maybe with a letter opener or a butter knife as they might tear. If they are very valuable to you, take them to a photo shop and have them do it for you.

Next you will want to sort your pictures out chronologically and by subject or person. You might want to work from the present and go back, since recent events are much easier to remember.

If you want to scrap them, start from the present also and use archivally safe materials. All materials should be acid-free with a ph level of 7 or above. Acids might cause discoloring of paper, become inflexible, and eventually become brittle as time passes. It can also destroy photographs or other memorabilia it comes into contact with. Your memories are precious to you and you’ll want preserve them properly to pass them on from generation to generation.

If you’re just starting out with scrapbooking, you will also need an acid-free adhesive, a paper cutter, acid-free pen, and of course acid-free cardstock and patterned paper.

Journaling is very important in a scrapbook. It tells the “story” of the photos. Remember that your journaling should include the who, what, when, where and why or else it is really of no interest to the generations that follow if they don’t know who the person is or the story behind it.

The photos that you have not scrapped yet should be placed in an acid free photo box and properly labeled. If you have as many photos as I do, then you will know why this is very important to sort and label everything. It saves a lot of time, confusion and chaos.

Make sure you only put your favorite or best photos in a scrapbook. If they are blurry or too dark or light, it’s not likely to look any better in a scrapbook. Although you can crop or cut your own photos improving them to a certain extent. The person or object may appear larger or you might want to just cut off objects or people that do not belong in the picture.

When using cardstock or patterned paper, make sure that you color coordinate the paper with the picture and mat the photo. Matting a photo means adhering the photo to a piece of cardstock slightly larger than the photo creating a small frame around it. This emphasizes the photo and makes it stand out.

There are various embellishments you can use to give your layout an added touch, such as, eyelets, buttons, ribbons, metal letters or other objects, clips, brads, snaps, hinges, stickers, diecuts, embossing, vellum, etc. This list is very long! Have fun getting started!

Tips and Suggestions on How to Learn a Foreign Language

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Some Absolutes:

1. Foreign Language courses are not like other courses you must never
procrastinate. Procrastination=failure in foreign language courses. Therefore you
must spend a minimum of 15 minutes each day and a minimum of 3 hours a week.
And additional time whenever possible. However, you should never spend more than
45 minutes studying the language in one session. Split your study up into several
small sessions.

2. Class Attendance is mandatory and necessary in order to pass the course and
learn the language.

3. Some occasional review of all material you have learned previously is also very
important to your success. (for example, the vocabulary)

Some suggestions to make the different parts of learning a language easier and
more successful.

Reading:

1. Concentrate on reading for comprehension without looking up every unfamiliar
word. Look up only those words which cannot even be guessed or determined based
on context.

2. Read a little bit of the language every day. Especially the chapters in the
textbook.

Speaking:
1. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes, listen carefully to your classmates and
SPEAK UP!

2. Practice speaking out loud on your own, in a group of friends studying the
same language and with your pets such as a dog or cat.

Writing

1. Practice writing every day

2. Try having a friend dictate some of the language to you while you write it down
and then check what you wrote for accuracy.

Some Miscellaneous Helps

1. Develop a Good Attitude, have reasons and goals for studying the language.
Know what you plan to learn and how you will get there successfully

2. If you need help get it. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for help for fear
of sounding stupid, or being embarrassed.

3. Get audio tapes of the language and listen to them or make you own tapes and
listened to yourself in order to perfect your pronunciation.

4. Read out loud.

5. Make flash cards for vocabulary and try using different colors for different
genders of the words and for different categories of words such as nouns, verbs,
and adjectives.

6. Practice in study groups, become good friends with some of your classmates
and they can help you out.

Some additional reading sources which can help you.

Taming The Book Proposal

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Taming the Book Proposal: The Basics Oh, that most maddening of
documents! For so many of us eager to move forward with our
nonfiction projects, it looms large like a guard at the queen’s
castle, blocking the path to publication. Its perfection eludes
us yet it stands there teasing, “Complete me, or your manuscript
will never see the light of day, mwahahahaha!”

In truth, that’s a lie. Every author has the option of
self-publishing. However, there are advantages to writing a book
proposal instead of a whole book.

One advantage is that it usually takes less time than writing a
whole book. Two, it creates the possibility of getting paid to
write your book, perhaps just a few thousand dollars, perhaps
tens or even hundreds of thousands. Three, it forces you to get
clear about what you’re doing with your book, on a number of
levels.

Even if you want to self-publish, a book proposal serves as a
sort of business plan for your book. The time and energy spent
on research, evaluation and comparison of your ideas at the
outset pays off down the line many times over. After all,
wouldn’t you rather find out now that someone else has said
similar things more eloquently and have a chance to amend your
manuscript, than publish the darn thing only to read terrible—or
worse—no reviews?

The process of polishing your book proposal is also an exercise
in discipline and focus. It brings the purpose of your book, its
scope, depth and message into sharp relief. It will get your
thinking muscles into the best shape ever to produce the most
marketable book of which you are capable. However, you must
dedicate the necessary time and energy to educate yourself, move
through multiple drafts and polish this behemoth of a document
to perfection, or else hire someone who knows how to do just
that.

Here are some answers to questions you may be asking right now:

What is a book proposal? A book proposal is a document intended
to sell a publishing staff on publishing a particular nonfiction
book. It is the way most nonfiction books get published by major
publishers. It reads very much like a business plan about the
book proposed. It can be anywhere from 10-100 double-spaced,
12-point 8 1/2 X 11 pages—most are 20-60 pages, including sample
chapters. It generally uses a very specific format and
specialized language to make its case.

What does the book proposal do? It answers a series of typical
questions that different departments of book publishing
companies need answered when deciding which tiny handful of
proposals, out of hundreds, to take a chance on. It acts on your
and your book’s behalf to answer questions like, Why this book
over all the others in its class? Why now? Why this author?

Who sees my book proposal first, an agent or a publisher? It
depends on whether you choose to have an agent represent you, or
go directly to publishers. Many publishers will not accept
unagented material, so make sure you check a given publisher’s
guidelines first.

What does the book proposal contain? Generally, a book proposal
contains a cover sheet, table of contents, along with the
following sections: overview, author bio, author’s marketing
plan, market analysis of buyers, comparative and/or competing
books, outline, sample chapters.

The overview contains a hook, or means of enticement, draws the
editor in, and gives a general summary of the book’s purpose.
It’s sort of like an article about the book. It should make you
want to read the whole thing!

The author bio puts any and all of your experience related to
writing the book, in its best light. It’s different from a
resume or CV. It looks a lot like the “about the author” blurbs
you see in the back of published books, below the author’s photo.

The author’s marketing plan, or “what the author will do to
promote the book,” shows the publisher that you know what it
takes to sell your book, and details how you plan to do it.
These days, ironically, publishers don’t put much money into
publicity, unless you’re already famous. An author with a
well-thought-out marketing plan will stand out from most of the
others who pay far less attention to this section, thinking
instead that the publisher will take care of it.

The complementary and competing books section identifies and
describes books that both directly compete with and also that
complement the proposed book. The purpose of this section is to
show the editors what has been done before, and how your book
fits in. The reason for this section is twofold: One, many
editors are too busy to keep up-to-the-minute records of what’s
being done in every field, and so rely on the author to educate
them about what else is out there. Two, just as many editors
know exactly what’s out there, and want to know how your work
purports to compare.

There’s a paradox here: On the one hand, you want to point to X,
Y and Z books as evidence that this topic you’re writing on is
really hot. On the other hand, you want to make a strong case
that yet another book—namely yours—is still necessary, and why.
So you have to point out strongly yet tactfully—you never know
what relationship the person reading your proposal bears to your
competition— what yours will do that others haven’t.

The market analysis makes the case for the size of the book’s
audience. It usually covers a broad view of current interests
and buying patterns in the larger culture that bode favorably
for the book. It may include recent movies, documentaries on
television, facts about memberships in organizations or clubs,
social or ethnic groups whose constituents would be likely
buyers of the book. For example, a book with an exercise theme
might cite the circulation of major fitness magazines,
membership in health clubs or recent TV shows on related topics.
This approach can be adapted to whatever the subject: parenting,
cancer, gardening, dogs, mental illness, business, or
entrepreneurship.

The chapter outline tells chapter by chapter what your book
contains, and the sample chapters, usually about 30 pages worth,
represent the best samples of your writing.

Why are so many book proposals rejected? Most book proposals are
rejected because the ideas presented in them fail to convince
the publisher that the author has a worthwhile (read:
marketable) project. Making a project appealing to a publisher
is a specialized skill, very different from creating the project
itself.

In my experience, authors, whether of fiction or nonfiction are
by nature creative people. If you’re reading this, chances are
at some point in your life, you became enamored of an idea or
ideas, and felt the urge to move your thoughts into the world in
book form. Your mind is alive. You have something to say.

A successful book proposal, on the other hand, is a specialized
marketing document that follows a particular form, and answers
very specific questions in a way that gets a “Yes!” from
publishers. Unless your field is marketing, and in particular,
the marketing of books to publishers, chances are you don’t have
expertise in creating a book proposal. And why should you? It’s
nowhere near as much fun for most authors as working and playing
with their own ideas.

The majority of my clients who give me book proposals to review,
even those who have read books I’ve recommended and claim to
have followed them, give me proposals almost certainly slated
for rejection. An excellent book proposal is a tough document
for most authors to produce on their own. However, help abounds!

If you are determined to write your book proposal on your own,
can really, truly follow directions, and have the patience it
takes to polish your work with dozens or hundreds of revisions,
I recommend Michael Larsen’s book, How to Write a Book Proposal,
and Jeff Herman’s Write the Perfect Book Proposal. Read them,
study them, write your proposal, rewrite it several dozen times
(no, I’m not joking) and have it professionally reviewed by
someone who really knows what they are doing. Polish it to
perfection—in this business, in which 99% of all proposals will
get rejected, good enough simply isn’t.

Then, if you want an agent, make sure you find one with a
successful track record of selling work like yours, otherwise
your polished proposal may gleam, twinkle and shimmer for
unappreciative and unqualified eyes. Unless the agent has
specified otherwise, query them first via a one- to
one-and-a-half page letter. For the query, read and study John
Wood’s How to Write Attention-Grabbing Query and Cover Letters.
Then have at it. Spend at least three weeks on this query
letter, and get feedback from at least three people, at least
one of whom truly knows the field.

proposal RIGHT NOW? Check out our classes.

What’s the risk to get cancer?

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

In all the publication, The World Health Organisation (W.H.O.)
summarise what we know about cancer from scientific research:

Cancer is largely preventable: By stopping smoking, providing
healthy food and avoiding the exposure to carcinogens. The most
frequent cancer types are curable by surgery, chemotherapy or
radiotherapy. The chance of cure increases substantially if
cancer is detected early. Quality of life of cancer patients and
their families can be greatly improved by the provision of
palliative care.

Recommendations from the World Health Organisation concerning
cancer include action in the following areas:

· eliminating exposure to cancer causes · reducing individual
susceptibility to the effects of these causes · serving the
greatest public health potential · identifying the most
cost-effective long-term cancer control · tobacco control ·
obesity control · control of composition of the diet · control
of consumption of alcoholic beverages

Cancer control is a public health approach aimed at reducing
causes and consequences of cancer by translating our knowledge
into practice. The prevention programmes from the World Health
Organization sees cancer-prevention as part of integrated,
national strategies. They identify the risk for cancers above
are common to all non communicable diseases including heart,
diabetes and respiratory problems.

All Prevention programmes for all chronic diseases are able to
use the same surveillance and health promotion techniques.
According to WHO recognised causes of cancer include:

· occupational and environmental exposure to a number of
chemicals · links between a number of infections and certain
types of cancer · parasitic infection schistosomiasis · exposure
to some forms of ionizing radiation · excessive ultraviolet
radiation

W.H.O. treatment priorities to day Very important: Early
detection improves chances of survival, but WHO stress ‘only
when linked to effective treatment’. The WHO wants to increase
our awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer and help set
up regular screening of apparently healthy individuals. Very
important: Accurate diagnosis of cancer is the first step to
effective management. Care of cancer patients starts with
recognition of some kind of abnormality in the body, followed by
a visit to a health care facility for diagnosis. Once a
diagnosis is confirmed then the disease is ’staged’. The patient
might be referred to a specialist cancer treatment centre.

The Orthodox treatment for the cancer is likely to involve a
mixture of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal therapy and
surgery. The primary objectives of cancer treatment are: cure,
the prolongation of life and improvement of the quality of life.

Survival rates - the statistic datas

The Survival rates in standard treatments vary according to the
variety of cancer. - uterin corpus, breast, testis and melanoma
produce a 5-year survival rate of 75% - pancreas, liver, stomach

All About Wrongful Death Cases

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Do you know anyone who has been hit by a reckless driver or a careless motorist, shot dead due to mistaken identity, killed due to medical malpractice, etc.? These are examples of wrongful death cases. Generally, these cases are caused by another person’s negligence, carelessness, malpractice or inaction. Even though the death is unintentional, it is still the responsibility of the defendant to provide just compensation for the survivors or victims of wrongful death cases.

Prior to a wrongful death incident, you can file wrongful death lawsuits if you are a relative of the wrongful death victims. Winning these civil lawsuits can recover payment for damages to the victims’ lives. The compensation may cover medical and funeral costs, lost wages including future earnings, lost benefits, lost inheritance, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of support or companionship, general damages, and punitive damages. However, the last compensation may not be awarded without additional evidence of malicious intent.

Simply, the immediate family members such as the parents, spouses and children of the deceased can file the wrongful death lawsuits on their loved ones’ behalf because they are almost always eligible to file a claim. Minors may need an adult guardian to take a wrongful death lawsuit to court. Moreover, other family members including the stepparents, grandparents and dependents may also be permitted to file suit in some states.

If you realize you have a valid wrongful death claim, you must first consult one of the experienced wrongful death lawyers in your area. Doing so is very important because a wrongful death lawyer can help you gather evidence, understand the law, complete necessary paperwork, and build a convincing lawsuit against the defendant. In addition, to have an attorney can also help lessen the pain, stress and suffering you may be experiencing due to the incident.

The law states that there is a certain amount of time allotted that a person who has lost a loved one due to wrongful death has to initiate a lawsuit. Family members are usually allowed between one and three years from the time of death to file a claim. If they fail to do so, their claims may be shelved forever. Therefore, if you have lost a loved one because of wrongful death, speak to a personal injury attorney for details regarding the reliability of your case now. After all, your loved ones deserve justice for their untimely death and you too for your misery.
