Minerals, Vitamins and the Digestive System

Filed under: Online Nutrition Resources — admin @ 9:26 pm

It is through the digestive system the body is able to make use of the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that are consumed. The digestive system breaks down the material until it is in a form that can of use on the cellular level. There are several vitamins and minerals that directly affect the quality and efficiency of the process of digestion. Making sure to achieve the standard recommended daily intake levels of these nutrients will help to ensure that your body is able to make the best use of the foods consumed.

The digestive process begins in the mouth, with the saliva and the teeth. Healthy teeth are essential to proper chewing, which breaks the food down so that it can pass through the esophagus, but also puts it into a form in which the enzymes can start their work. Calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, Vitamin D and Vitamin C are essential to the health of the teeth, as their very structure depends on these vitamins and minerals. Calcium and phosphorus are the primary building blocks of the teeth, with Vitamin D serving to enhance calcium absorption by the body and magnesium and Vitamin C being necessary to the processes by which those substances come together to form the structure of the teeth.

As with all of the important body functions and systems, the powerful vitamins that form the Vitamin B complex have a significant role in the digestive system. Thiamin, or Vitamin B1, serves to help the body have a good appetite, and also keeps the nerves in good working order. Nerves, the communicators of the body, are important to the process of digestion, as much of it is the result of involuntary movements that are regulated in part by the nervous system. Niacin, or B3, is necessary for the health of the digestive tract, serving, in addition to the general health and functioning of the digestive tract, to keep its surfaces healthy. Niacin also helps to keep the tongue in good health, able to perform its role in the digestive process efficiently. Vitamin B9, also called by the names folate, folic acid and folacin, is also important to the maintenance of the gastrointestinal tract. The bacteria in the digestive tract help to produce Vitamin K, essential to the blood’s ability to clot.

There are many minerals that serve as cofactors to the enzymes that break down food, meaning that without those minerals the enzymes would be incomplete and digestion poor. Manganese is just one of the minerals that serves this purpose, not only serving as a cofactor in the enzyme processes that break down food, but also in those that allow the body to utilize it. Chromium is a mineral that helps to regulate appetite, important for food intake.

There are many digestive disruptions that can be traced back to poor nutrition. Meeting the standard recommended daily intake levels of the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that your body needs is a good way to avoid inefficient and incomplete digestion. Nutritional supplements can offer a safe and effective means of meeting your dietary needs and health goals.

America’s Need For Debt Management

Filed under: Credit Strategies — admin @ 5:27 pm

The need for debt management has never been higher; consumer spending and consumer debt is at an all time high. More and more Americans are in financial distress because they use credit cards as a way of living and spend beyond their means.

The amount of debt that American’s are accumulating is growing larger each year as we continue to spend outside of our means. Many American’s are spending more money than they are making. Debt reduction becomes necessary when the money that is being spent exceeds the money that is being earned.

During a financial hardship, debt management companies help educate you on how to manage and or reduce your debt and offer you the help you need to get it done. Once you are aware of all of your options, you can make an educated decision about which debt relief program best suits your needs.

Often, debtors try debt consolidation programs or turn to bankruptcy only to find out that these solutions often cause more trouble than they are worth.

A good debt management program can help you eliminate your unsecured debts by up to 60% in just 12-36 months. Debt management companies negotiate with your creditors for you, so you don’t have to. An additional benefit of a debt management program is the fact that they assistance with creditor harassment.

Don’t let your debts control you. Through a proper debt management program, you can combine your monthly payments into one lower monthly payment and still pay off large debts in just 3-6 years. Debt Reduction gives you the power to eliminate your debts with the help of professional debt specialists on your side.

Many people have found themselves burdened with unmanageable monthly payments on a variety of different loans. This can make things very unpleasant, and can seriously compromise your quality of life. Using the services of a debt reduction company can help to ease this burden by lowering the amount of money you must payout each month and enabling you to payoff your loans and credit cards debts faster.

There are many different debt reduction programs available, but all share the same common denominator – namely that they will only work at their optimum level if you give them the time and effort that they require. It is important to realize that you did not get into debt overnight, and will not get out overnight.

Profit By Investing in Your Brand Account

Filed under: Market Brands — admin @ 10:02 am

In the Music Biz, marketing makes the difference between artist and musicians succeeding or failing.

There are a few marketing key terms that you should know to be able to market your music successfully.
This article deals with the first and most important marketing technique - branding.

Branding involves creating symbols that potential fans or “target’s” will associate with you or your product.
Those symbols when combined and attributed to your brand are then known as your brands identity.

Branding is reflected in everything you do or say as an artist or musician.

The pictures you take, Your autograph signatures,
your name, logo, interviews, cover art and anything audible or visual should all be taken into consideration when
developing your brand identity.

If your music brand is still young (under five years), be careful of everything you do or say.

Remember the Dixie Chicks? The Dixie Chicks were on top of the world until the day Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Mains made disparaging remarks about George W. Bush while overseas. With those remarks about George W. Bush, the Dixie Chicks branded themselves as “unpatriotic”. Hundreds of radio stations immediately yanked the Dixie Chicks music off the air.
Be warned, watch what you do or say very carefully.

Back in the day, artists had publicists who would coach them as to what to say or do. Of course this often made the artist’s
feel like puppets, but this practice usually kept the artists brand integrity intact. If you are a artist or musician be
calculated about every thing you say or do. If someone hits you with a question you don’t want to answer, say something like
“no comment” or “I’m all about music right now”.

Another thing to consider is your target market. Find no more than two markets or genre’s to market to. I’ve worked with
aspiring artist who say “I can sing all kinds of music”. Being a versatile singer or performer is a great thing, but not when building your brand identity. The majority of humans need to be able to categorize things in their minds in order to find a spot for them in our minds. Picture the human brain as a fleshy computer. It has many folders with many many files. If your target can’t file your product into one or two categories (genres)instantly, you will be deleted.

It’s best to pick one or two genres -max, to market to.
E.g. jazz and blues, hip hop and r&b, folk and country etc.

Build your own brand Identity - don’t let the public do it for you.

Recently, Arctic Monkeys sold over 300,000 using only
the internet to market their music. Arctic Monkeys came out of nowhere with their CD “Whatever They Say I Am, That’s What
I’m Not”.
Arctic Monkeys got lots of free press but not the kind they would have liked. News articles and radio features about Arctic Monkeys all said the same thing -”we don’t know who they are or what they stand for”. Well that’s no way to build a brand.

With all of the free press Arctic Monkeys have received you’d expect them to be on every American teens lip’s. Not so.
Most American Teens don’t even know Arctic Monkeys exist. Arctic Monkeys allowed the press limited access to their brand and the press did what they do best when the details are missing - they fill in the blanks with speculation.

If you are a young brand don’t let this happen to you. Tell people what to think and say about you through press releases, and brand building activities.

Let your brand account grow before you take deposits out of it.

With branding, consistency is builds equity. Once you have built your brand identity and start to get some good attention,
leave it alone and let it create value for you. Consider your branding efforts as putting money into an interest generating
account like a 401K. The more you put into the same account the more interest you’ll get. The more interest you get the more money you’ll get. Get it?

Artists and musicians who change their brand identity often don’t have much success establishing a solid brand identity
and have a much more difficult time getting people to remember who they are or why they should buy that brand.

What you are shooting for is what’s known as brand presence. To have brand presence, you’ll need to pick a target market, you’ll
need to build the the associative symbols that represent your brand, you’ll need to handle your young brand with care, you’ll need to limit where and how you market your brand, you’ll have to tell people what your brand symbolizes, you’ll have to invest in your brand and let it grow for you without changing it.

As you follow the steps above you’ll see your brand grow and give you a return on your investment.

Choosing Fish for the Garden Pond

Filed under: World Of Gardening — admin @ 8:15 am

Once a new garden pond has been planted and the waterlilies and other aquatic plants have been established for four or five weeks, ornamental fish can be introduced. There is no minimum number of fish necessary for a pond, although without any fish at all it will become a nursery for mosquitoes and there will be little chance of controlling aquatic insect pests. Even for the pond-keeper with little interest in ornamental fish, it is prudent to introduce half a dozen merely to control insect life.

The majority of pond-keepers find fish as important as plants, especially those who have a young family. Children love fish, although there is a danger of over-stocking, for there never seems to be enough in any pond for young children. There is also impatience to get the new pond stocked immediately it is filled with water. This must be resisted until the plants have had an opportunity to establish. While there is no minimum requirement for fish, there is a maximum number that should not be exceeded.

The most satisfactory stocking rate is 2ins length of fish to every 1 square foot of surface area. This is not of the total surface area of the pond but of open water uncluttered by marginal plants. This rate of stocking permits growth and development of the fish and makes natural breeding likely. Fish enthusiasts will often stock more heavily than this, but an absolute maximum is 6ins to every 1 square foot of surface area.

When purchasing fish a good guide as to whether they are healthy is the condition of their fins. Stout upright dorsal fins and well-expanded ventral fins are an indication of good health and this can be confirmed if the eyes are clear and bright as well. An obvious consideration when selecting fish is their liveliness. However, while a lively fish is likely to be a healthy fish, it could equally be a very hungry fish. It is common practice with many fish retailers to keep the fish a little hungry. This ensures that they swim and dart about the tank in search of morsels of food and therefore appear livelier than they would ordinarily. An added bonus is the reduction in the fouling in the tank.

With small fish it is important to see that there are no damaged or missing scales as exposed tissue is very susceptible to fungal infection. The same applies to larger specimens, although it is not so critical, and the likelihood of finding a large fish that has no scales missing is fairly remote. If an otherwise healthy fish has a few scales missing, then dip it in a proprietary fungus cure. It is prudent in any event to treat all newly purchased fish in this way as a precaution before introducing them to the pond.

Mazda Millenia: Simplicity and Luxury

Filed under: Cars, Trucks, USVs — admin @ 8:03 am

This midsize luxury car for Mazda was originally planned to be
introduced and to be marketed under Amati as the Pegasus and
would be from Amati, which is the luxury brand of the Mazda
automobile manufacturer. The Mazda Millenia was first introduced
in 1995 as an entry-level luxury car under the Mazda brand. And
just during that same year, the Toyota Avalon also made its
public debut, and this vehicle later on became the Mazda
Millenia’s competitor. This vehicle replaced the Mazda 929 for
North America. The entire production of this vehicle was then
halted in 2003 due to a quite unsuccessful experience in sales.
This vehicle was later on replaced by the Mazda 6.

The Mazda Millenia could be quite considered as Mazda’s
flagship, that is if Mazda were to sell a premium brand, which
it did not do. This vehicle offers value among its luxury sedans
counterparts. This vehicle has a supercharged V6 engine offering
a maximum of 210 horsepower. It is considered to be one of the
most interesting vehicles in the near-luxury class. It offers a
crisp handling that entails a comfortable and luxurious long
drive. Also, road trips would not be an uncomfortable one with
the Mazda Millenia since this vehicle also provides great and
easy comfort for its passengers. For a fact, the Mazda Millenia
has been designed and crafted to be a premium-brand product that
would be able to compete with well-known luxury vehicles like
the Infiniti I35, the Acura TL, and the Lexus ES 300. This Mazda
Millenia has been crafted and designed with two trim levels
available which comprises of the Millenia Premium, and the
Millenia S.

The last year that the Mazda Millenia underwent redesigning and
restyling, the vehicle experienced a complete replacement of
every panel forward of the windshield, along with its rear end
and tail lights. It has been given a sharper, clear, and more
defined look. It also came with 17 inch wheels and tires, along
with a small front spoiler that has become the Mazda Millenia’s
identity.

This vehicle has a maximum capacity of five passengers as per
its cabin. Standard equipment for this vehicle includes leather
seating surfaces, leather inner door panels, a steering wheel
wrapped in leather, a shift knob and handbrake handle, a wood
trim, an automatic climate control, a theft deterrent system, a
remote keyless entry system, a power tilt-adjustable steering
wheel, dual 8-way power seats, a power moonroof, cruise control,
ABS, a Bose premium AM/FM/cassette/CD stereo, traction control,
and front spoiler.

Further information on the Mazda Millenia and Mazda vehicles and
auto parts could be found in the comfort of your own homes

Business Ideas – Need a New Idea? Try Changing Your Perspective

Filed under: Product Tips + More — admin @ 7:21 am

One definition of creativity states that creative people look at
the same thing everyone else does, yet they see something
no one else does.

But even creative people (which includes all of you, of
course) can run into roadblocks every now and then.
Sometimes it’s not possible to see something different.
Sometimes you’ve just been staring at a problem for so long
it’s now impossible to look at it in any other way.

So what do you do in these situations?

Why not try changing your perspective?

Consider this: A friend of mind who does needlepoint has a
design that’s mostly black. Rather than simply stitching the
design on white canvas with black thread, she’s using a
black canvas and is stitching the negative aspects of the
design instead of the positive.

She changed the way she viewed the problem. And now she
has a really cool-looking needlepoint design that’s different
from most other ones out there.

Or what about this: An art teacher has her students turn a
photograph or object upside down and paint what they see
– not a picture but an arrangement of shapes.

By changing your perspective, you’re changing what you
see. And when you change what you see, you’re more likely
to create something completely different.

But — I can hear you all saying right now — that’s art. That
won’t help me with my business problem.

Okay, so here’s another story from the book “Thinkertoys” by
Michael Michalko. Back in the 1950s, experts proclaimed the
ocean freighter industry was dying. Costs were skyrocketing
and delivery times kept getting pushed back later and later.

Executives at the shipping companies kept focusing on
ways to cut costs while ships were sailing. They developed
ships that went faster and needed fewer crew members to
run.

It didn’t work. Costs continued to spiral out of control and it
still took too long to get the merchandise shipped.

Then one day, a consultant changed the perspective. Rather
than ask the question: ” In what ways might we make ships
more economical while at sea?” executives asked: “In what
ways can we reduce costs?”

Ta-da!

Ships are big money-sucking machines when they aren’t at
sea actually doing their job — shipping merchandise. And
when aren’t they working? When they’re sitting in port being
loaded and unloaded.

So, the industry came up with way to preload merchandise
on land. Now a ship comes in, the container carrying the
cargo rolls off, a new container already loaded with cargo
rolls on, and the ship heads back to sea.

That one innovation saved an entire industry. And it
happened because shipping executives changed the way
they viewed their problem.

Creativity Exercise — Change your perspective

So, how can you change your perspective and solve your
business/marketing problems?

Try what the shipping industry did and change the question.

Instead of looking at a narrow part of the problem (”In what
ways can we make ships more economical while at sea?”)
broaden the question (”In what ways can we reduce costs in
general?”)

Here’s another example.

Maybe your question is “how can I land more clients?” What
if you started broadening the question like so:

How can I land more clients?

How can I grow my business?

How can I make more money from my business?

How can I make more money period?

How can I be happier in my life? (I know, I know, money
doesn’t buy happiness. But it’s certainly nice to have.)

Maybe one of those questions is a better place to look for a
solution. Because maybe one of those questions is the
“real” question you want to solve, but since you never took a
step back to look at the big picture, you’ve never discovered
the right question to ask.

And if you don’t ask the right question, your muse will never
give you an answer that actually solves your problem.
