It is thought that earrings date back to 3000 BC where they originated in Asia and
appeared in 2 formats, one being the simple hoop earring and the other the more
elaborate pendant earring.
The oldest earrings ever found by archaeologists were discovered in royal graves in
Iraq and date back to around 2500 BC. Gold, silver and bronze hoop earrings have
also been found dating back to 2000 BC in Crete. In those days it was customary to
bury jewellery with the dead.
In 16th century in the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt a type of earring called an
earplug became fashionable and these fitted snugly into a wide stretched hole in the
earlobe. This type of piercing is seen on the sculpture of Tutankhamen.
Poverty in the Dark ages meant that work with precious metals dwindled although
some goldsmiths preserved designs that were to later emerge in 7th century Greece.
The most popular earrings then were the pendant type and they often featured
a bird or likenesses of the gods Eros and Nike.
In the 2nd century during the Roman Empire, earrings became a popular way for
rich women to show off their wealth and the use of precious gemstones in the
jewellery also became more popular.
During the Middle Ages, earrings became less popular and practical due to the
popularity of elaborate hairstyles and headdresses. In fact for a time it was
considered immoral for respectable married woman not to have their heads covered
in public.
In 16th century Italy, hairstyles changed with hair being swept away from the face
leaving ears exposed although for another 100 years things stayed the same in
England, Spain and France with the wearing of high collars keeping earrings out of
fashion.
By the 17th century, earrings became very fashionable accessory for the well
dressed lady across the whole of Europe. One of the most popular designs of those
times were the very large heavy pendant type earrings called girandoles which were
great favourites of Queen Victoria. These earrings required a substantial amount of
precious metals and gemstones and so were very heavy, which meant that most
people that wore them suffered from elongated earlobes.
Although earrings were popular with wealthy people throughout the ages, they were
also popular with poorer people who adopted their own styles which were less
elaborate and made from less expensive materials.
It wasn’t until the 20th century that earrings were completely revolutionised.
Different fittings appeared such as screw and clip on as well as those for pierced
ears and it also became the norm for women to wear earrings in the day and not
just for special occasions.
The 1960’s marked a massive change for the wearing of
earrings when designs became completely unrestrained and it became common to
see men also wearing earrings although most only usually wear one earring. Women
began to collect earrings and with so many designs available the choices were
endless.
Today the choice is even greater and the popularity of earrings increases with many
people now having more than one set of piercings in which to display their
jewellery. Modern materials such as titanium and different types of plastics have
also become popular in the making of earrings because of their lightness, design
possibilities and in the case of titanium because of its hypoallergenic qualities.
There is now a never ending choice of different types of earrings from modern
trendy cheap and cheerful everyday earrings to the more expensive gold, silver or
platinum earrings inlaid with diamonds and other precious gemstones.

As an author and a book reviewer I’ve been on both sides of the fence when it comes to book reviewing, and believe me I’ve seen the best and worst of attempts to review a book. It’s very important if you want to review books to follow certain criteria if you want to be successful at it and have both authors and other book reviewers respect your work. The following are some tips to keep in mind when reviewing someone’s book:
1. Remember the book you are reading or have read is someone’s baby, keep in mind how you would feel if someone denigrated your child in front of you. Be kind even when being critical.
2. Be objective. Don’t let your book review become a personal attack against the author. If you don’t like the book say why but keep your comments focused on specifics such as for example, the hero’s personality seemed in conflict with his actions.
3. Don’t just say what you don’t like, say what you do like.
4. Don’t be a spoiler, meaning don’t give away secrets from the book. Give an overview of what the book is about during your beginning paragraphs only, without giving away significant details which will be revealed later in the book.
5. Be prepared for the possibility the author of a book from a less than glowing review may contact you and be upset. People are human and while you know you’ve been objective there’s still a possibility the author may attempt to change your mind. Be firm, but be kind. You don’t want to alienate anyone, but neither do you have to change your mind.
6. Above all, have fun! As an author I enjoy reading reviews done for my books as it lets me know both where I’ve done well and where I might need some work. As a reviewer it’s fun because I get to help other authors in the same way.
If you keep these tips in mind when reviewing someone’s book you will have a better chance at both being a successful reviewer and at having fun while you do so.

It was May 3rd that saw the fall of the Minnesota Vikings, vice president of player personnel Fran Foley. Minnesota found many discrepancies with the vice presidents resume when reviewed for executive reasons. Top this off with many clashes with other management personnel in the Vikings organization, and a widely panned draft left little to be desired for his services.
There is a great story to all of this trouble however, as the original applicant for the job Rick Spielman, just happened to be available and made no bones about signing on with the team Tuesday. Spielman a former Miami Dolphins General Manager, and former ESPN analyst held an interview a while back with the Vikings and was passed up and they went with the now fired Foley only four months later.
The deal believed to be for three years, will see Spielman fall nicely into place with an already well-established Vikings management team. Spielman is well aware of the presence of ownership that takes a very large role in the decisions made in and around the Vikings club. This he believes is what makes this organization great.
Spielman spent 5 years with the Miami Dolphins, and saw much in the way of change over that time. Not only did he witness a disastrous season in 2004, he watched pro running back Ricky Williams receive suspensions and banning for substance abuse, under the collective bargaining agreement.
This will be a fresh and uplifting change for this wonderful executive and all the best is wished upon him in this upcoming endeavor.

Search engines index millions of web sites to generate the search results they return for key words. They do this using “spiders”.
Most search engines have their own spider that crawls around the web looking for web pages. Spiders are also known as “robots” because they are simply tiny little programs that run automatically, looking for web pages and recursively traveling through the embedded text links to index them.
Most robots look for a robots.txt file in the top-level directory of your web site, also known as the “root” where your home page is located on the web server.
The robots.txt file is a simple text file created in a basic text editor, like Notepad. It allows you to control what the spider is allowed to access and what it is not allowed to access or index.
The format of the basic robots.txt file is pretty simple:
User-Agent: [Spider Name]
Disallow: [File Name]
For example, to allow ALL robots complete access to your web site, your robots.txt file will look like this:
User-agent: *
Disallow:
The asterisk is a “wild card” character that represents ALL robots. Leaving the Disallow line blank indicates to the robots, that nothing on the site is disallowed.
The next example bars all robots from the cgi-bin (where your scripts are typically located), images directories, and the portfolio directories:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /images/
Disallow: /portfolio/
Note: You should use a separate Disallow line for each directory or individual file.
In this example, you may wonder why you would want to disallow a robot from indexing your portfolio directory.
If you are a photographer and you have thumbnail images on a portfolio page that link to enlargement pages launched in a pop-up window, you may not want those pop-up pages indexed. These are called “dead-end” or “orphaned” pages because only the enlarged image appears on the page with no contact info or menu links back to the main site. If the visitor entered your site on one of these pages, they would have nowhere to go and no way to contact you.
For a live example, check out www.AnJPhotography.com and look at her wedding portfolio. When you click on an image, it opens in a new window. The page in the new window is a “dead-end” page. A robots.txt file can keep search engines from indexing these “dead” pages so you don’t leave site visitors stranded.
This example keeps googlebot (the Google spider) from getting at the
private.htm file:
User-agent: googlebot
Disallow: private.htm
When you create your robots.txt file it is extremely important that you use a basic text editor (like Notepad) and NOT a word processing application like Microsoft Word. Applications like Microsoft Word can insert hidden characters that may make your robots.txt file unreadable. After you post your robots.txt file to the web server, you can validate it to make sure it is properly formatted. There are several free validators on the web. Here is one:
http://www.searchengineworld.com/cgi-bin/robotcheck.cgi
There are several advantages and some disadvantages of having the robots.txt file in your root directory. Protocol requires that all search engine robots start indexing your web site with the robots.txt file. This is the default entry point for robots if the file is present. Major search engines will never violate the Standard for Robots Exclusion. This is the primary reason it should be there. Beyond that, it can help with your search engine rankings when used correctly, and it can keep dead pages on your web site from being indexed. The primary disadvantage is that the robots.txt file may be viewed by nefarious individuals on the web, so you never want to use the robots.txt file to try to hide sensitive pages or directories on your web site (like passwords or private information).
For more information about the robots.txt file and complete list of robots, visit the following web site: http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/robots.html

Have you ever had this happen - You decide to do something different and exciting for your lover, like completely shaving your pubic area, but end up with red blotches and so sore you don’t even want your lover to see or touch you? What a drag.
The thought was a good one - really - You just made the same mistake most people make, thinking you could use just anything for shaving the pubic area.
The pubic area is quite different and certainly more sensitive than other parts of the body you might already be shaving. For those of you who know, the closest comparison would be with shaving under your arms.
Whether you’re a male or female, if you try shaving your pubic area with the same device you use for shaving your face, under arms or legs, it’s most likely that you’re going to irritate the pubic area skin.
Tell the truth - You were shaving with a wet razor weren’t you? Or was it your favorite triple-headed shaver you usually use for shaving your face?
Whichever it was, it didn’t give you the results you had been hoping for.
This doesn’t mean you should give up the idea of shaving your pubic area, just that you need to find out about better shaving tools for this area.
Just like thousands of others who already have.
What? You think you’re the first to want to have a hairless pubic mound? You might be surprised … Just mention your shaving experience to one or two of your closest friends and see what happens. They may be thrilled to finally be able to talk to someone about their own experiences.
And know this - Learning how shaving is best done in the pubic area is also important to achieving that silky, smooth look and feel you’re wanting.
Your friends may be able to enlighten you to pubic shaving tricks and tips they’ve learned along the way.
Just remember that every body is different and/so what works for them might not be best for you. But at least you may hear some things to think about as you continue to explore shaving your pubic area.
Allow your pubic hair to grow back in some, which will allow your skin to settle down, before attempting shaving again.
But do try again - Those who are shaving their pubic area, and those who are benefiting from it say it’s amazing how much it adds to intimate interactions.
All you need to do now is your own research to find out about the shaving tools designed for safely shaving the pubic area.
Bodworx International presents articles, tips, tricks and resources for hair removal from the entire body at their

If you don’t know by now one the best ways to attract free
traffic to your site is with articles. You find them in your
email. You find them on any website that provides useful
content. Take a look and you will see they are all formatted
the same way.
Attention-getting headline
Body of article ( usually offers tips or how to
information)
Resource box - That is at the end and involves a blurb to
plug your site or product and your link(s)
I’m sure if you think about it you can come up with some
ideas of your own for great articles. A good place to start:
What is it that you would really like to know? Find the
answer online with Google or go to your local library and
write away!
Aside from creating helpful content your purpose is to
promote yourself. Thus, the resource box. Do not include
affiliate links, leave your selling for when the reader
clicks through to your site.
Okay, you’ve written an article- what now?
Submit your article to the article banks. Article banks are
depositories for articles. Like a real bank you can make a
deposit or a withdrawal. There are several articles on my
site that I did not write. I made several “withdrawals” from
some of the banks. It’s a great way to get free content for
your site.
When you are re-publishing another author’s
article you must remember one very important thing: Never
ever cut-off the resource box! They worked hard to create
something useful for you. Repay their generosity by keeping
the links intact.
And guess what? if you take your article and make a
“deposit” it’s free for others to download and post on their
site or newsletter! You could find it scattered all over the
net in no time.
Why is that good? Because of your link in the resource box.
That link is going to bring you curious visitors which means
more traffic for you!
I know from personal experience when I find some useful info
in an article I want to find more useful stuff from the same
author so I follow the link.
And because you wrote so well about your topic I will
get the impression you are an expert. We both know
that may not be the case, but if people see you as an
authority in some area they will seek you out for tips,
advice and product recommendations. That means
more traffic and ultimately more money in your pocket.
There are dozens of article banks you can submit your
writing to for free. Just do a search on the net. And
submit, submit, submit! If you write it - the traffic will
come.

Your Pisces Baby..
February 19 - March 20
Your baby will have the most winning ways of all babies, and will dazzle you with the sweetest of smiles. She will dislike order and routine and will have an amazing imagination. Some Pisces children live in a world of make believe with imaginary people to talk to, and they believe in magic, fairies and myths - don’t ever tell them that Santa Claus does not exist, it will be traumatic! Young Pisceans can have a very active sixth sense. Your child may enjoy the company of adults more than that of other children. Pisces children rarely lose their temper, instead they will happily continue on their own sweet way.
Pisces children tend to avoid the limelight and do not seek to lead. Parents should not push their child into such positions. Their passive, non-aggressive natures mean that Pisces children can often be the victims of bullying. You will need to watch for this and to teach your child a strategy for dealing with such situations.
Young Pisceans seek attachments to people and animals rather than places and things. They need to be taught to believe in themselves to prevent them from becoming too clinging. Pisceans absorb all sorts of information like sponges (you may have a future Mastermind!) and need to be taught to distinguish between reality and fantasy.
Two Pisces children in the same family will get on very well together, often building an imaginary world. A Piscean parent with a Pisces child will also have an excellent relationship.

Email marketing is still one of the most effective forms of low-cost Internet marketing. It is one of the most widely-used internet marketing techniques and has an excellent reputation for capturing targeted prospects to your web site.
Using email as an internet marketing technique is virtually free! The only cost that can arise is the cost of an auto responder, some of them are free but I would not recommend them. Other than purchasing an auto responder your email marketing expenses are nil. That is why this internet marketing technique is one of the most viable on the internet.
The key is building a permission based list of email addresses that you can market to. When I refer to market I don’t mean sending them emails everyday asking them to send money. What I do mean is having an email marketing plan that builds a trusting relationship with your list so you can provide high quality and informative information to them.
With the increasing success of niche marketing on the internet email marketing still is an effective internet marketing technique. Niche marketing allows small, home based, entrepreneurs the opportunity to compete against the big boys! Find your niche, build your list, and be on the way to success. I am about to show you a way to drive your email marketing campaign into overdrive and create a never ending supply of cash with one press of a button.
1. Do Not Spam!!!.
Email marketing is not about spamming. It is about providing information to people that have requested you to send it to them. The information you send to them must be valuable to their interests.
2. It Starts with a Powerful Subject Line.
If you can’t get them to open it then your success rate will be zilch. The trust factor comes back into play here. When your name or company name appears in the subject line and you are recognized as sending them quality information your emails are more likely to get opened. Other effective tips to use include: using extra white space creatively, adding text symbols, starting each word with a capital letter, and ask questions. DO NOT make any outlandish or unbelievable claims, that just tends to turn people off and they think you are a scam artist.
3. Use the Power of Information and Your Subscriber’s Own Interests to Make the Sale.
You do not want to come off sounding like you are trying to sell them something. People want information so they can make informed decisions. By giving them information on topics they are interested in they are more likely to purchase from you at some point in time. Be genuine and have their interests at heart, believe me that this type of marketing will pay greater dividends in the long run.
4. Content is the Difference!
The content of the body of your email is critical to your success. Don’t make it too long and keep the fluff out by being concise. Tell them the information, describe the benefits of the product or service and let them decide. When you set up your email marketing campaign, remember that not every email you send has to have a potential sale in it. In fact it is best if it doesn’t because people get tired of being hassled and asked to spend money. Send them emails that include interesting articles about their interests, or simply a link referring them to a web site that they may like. The best way to reach out to your subscribers is to send them useful information. By doing this you will build trust and they will view you as a partner in their success.
Compiling a list of subscribers and sending them quality information is a very effective internet marketing technique. Remember to keep the information simple, the message honest, and build their trust with great content. Follow this easy outline and your email marketing campaign will produce a bountiful harvest.
Email marketing is a proven Internet Marketing Technique and is a great way to enhance your internet marketing efforts. Mark Williams has other terrific tips and Internet Marketing Strategies to help your marketing efforts.

We hear all the time about all sorts of techniques for closing people in sales situations, and other approaches that are designed for us salespeople to gain more business with our customers and prospects, too. While some of these approaches can be useful, there’s just no substitute for what’s considered one the best sales techniques around. That being:
Building great rapport with your customers and prospects, and having them feel you’re 100% committed to helping them attain their needs, wants, and desires .
But this is not how many salespeople are doing it in their own businesses right now, is it?
Frequently people will get into sales because they see it as a way to make big money. But they then fall into the routine of being forceful in their sales approaches, trying to move the customer in the direction that’s best for the salesperson.
The unfortunate reality is these salespeople don’t realize their customers can see what they’re up to. Somehow these salespeople feel they’re not telegraphing what they’re doing in any way that can be detected by the customer or prospect they’re working with.
With this in mind, just once I’d like to be in a clothing store and hear a salesperson say to the customer, “You know, that doesn’t look very good on you at all.”
Any salesperson that would tell me this would instantly raise their level of credibility!
Yet there are a great many salespeople out there trying to steer their prospects towards doing deals that may not be the best ones for the prospects, but they’re the best ones for the salespeople instead. And once your prospect picks up on this behavior, your relationship with the person is sunk. Now you’ve become just someone who “sells” to them, but they know now that they can’t trust your judgment and opinion. They have to determine whether or not the product or service will work for them completely independent of anything you now say to them.
The type of salesperson we all want to work with is someone we like who we feel has their number one priority being serving our best needs. When we both like someone and feel they’re committed to serving our best interests, we naturally just feel ourselves wanting to work with them.
The same applies for you, too, in your own business.
As an example, do you think if you were the one looking to buy or lease product or service that you could sense if the rep you were working with had your best interests in mind above their own? If your answer to this is “Yes,” don’t you think the same applies with your own customers and prospects, too? Don’t you think they can sense if you’re serving their best interests or looking out for your own commission?
Sometimes, for whatever reason, we don’t feel our customers and prospects share our same intuitive qualities in this arena. And it can cost us big time, too, if we haven’t already become the kind of salesperson who always puts their needs before our own.
Make sure you’re adept at developing great rapport with your customers and prospects, and make sure they always understand that serving their best interests is constantly your number one priority.
Once you’ve mastered this in your own business, people will sense that you’re the best choice they could ever make when it’s time for them to buy.
Best of luck to you out in the field

Love, sex, and intimacy are essential components that great marriages require for complete stability. Real love is the spiritual aspect, sex is physical and intimacy is emotional. It would be difficult to love your spouse if you only thought about yourself. This is not real love. Selfish people often have a difficult time giving of themselves, and yet, that is what love is all about. Love is more than a feeling, it is an action, and therefore, real love takes effort and sincerity.
LOVE:
In scripture, a husband is commanded to love his wife. What do you think is going to happen if that love is not a sincere love for his wife? She will feel frustration, resentment, and anger, and she will have a very difficult time submitting herself to the man she married. When a husband does not love his wife the way God has asked him to love his wife, all sorts of problems will develop in the marriage, mainly rebelliousness, and selfish thinking.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife, love himself. Ephesians 5:25-28
Husbands are commanded to love their wife for a very beautiful reason. It brings about the ideal biblical marriage that God himself designed. Marriage is a holy union, and a living symbol that needs self-sacrificing care. A husband should be willing to sacrifice everything, including himself, for his wife. He should make her well being of prime importance to him. Meaning, do whatever it takes to protect, care for, and love her, without expecting anything in return. I do not think there is a woman on this planet that if loved by their husband in this way, would fear submitting to her man if he treated her in this way!
SEX:
Sex between a man and a woman in marriage can be a totally beautiful experience when real love is felt and acted upon. The sexual relationship can be a healthy and productive when both husband and wife feel good about their designated roles and positions in the marriage.
Why do some women feel that all their husbands ever want or care about is sex? If a husband is neglecting certain areas in the marriage where a woman needs to feel like a woman and feel good about who she is, then she will feel exploited and abused by her man sexually.
A woman who feels neglected in the love department will not want to have sex with her husband. A woman, who knows that she is loved in ALL areas of marriage, will not have a hard time taking pleasure in having sex with the man she married. She will not have a difficult time initiating the lovemaking either.
This is precisely why God says for a man to love his wife as Christ does the church because if a woman rejects her husband sexually, what do you think he is going to do? That’s right, look elsewhere. So men, don’t neglect your wife in any area of the marriage, give away your love willingly, without wanting anything in return, protect, and care for your wife, and be willing to give everything up for her and she will submit to your love in every way imaginable to her.
INTIMACY:
Intimacy like love takes action to complete its purpose. Having a loving, giving, and sharing relationship with the person you married provides couples the closeness that marriage craves. The bonds of intimacy are shared on each level in marriage from romance, to sex, to areas of communication. Couples can feel intimate by sharing a simple conversation with one another.
Women who are loved and feel close to their husbands are more apt to be respectful and devoted wives. A woman who is truly loved will utilize all of her creative talents and god given abilities that she has been blessed with; her husband will never be in need of anything. So you can see how, love, sex, and intimacy are all desirable attributes for a healthy and productive marriage.
If you lack in one of the areas described above, discuss it with your spouse, find out together what you can do to bring out the attribute you are lacking and work on it together. I encourage you to see just how truly unique and special your marriage can be by loving and sharing yourself with each other on an intimate level.
Dear Children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18
