What is one thing a home business entrepreneur should be constantly working towards?

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

We will begin this topic with one assumption, that our home
business comprises selling through a website. Meaning we are
website owners. In which case, we may want to manage our website
ourselves or hire someone to manage it for us. In either option,
it is in our interest to know what goes into making our home
business a success or what we are paying for to achieve success
at it. Internet is full of claims, information, advice and
secrets on how to get success with home business. Some self
proclaimed as well as genuine gurus are selling info packed in
ebooks while some ask you to download videos and guarantee you
can replicate their success. What you have to understand is that
all these people are selling you the same truth…. “Increase
traffic to your site”. Everyone is teaching you the same skill
in their own language. This answers our basic question. The
internet home business entrepreneurs should be constantly
working towards getting more and more traffic to their
website/websites. They may use any school of thought that suits
them. Do a simple link exchange campaign or pay for links on
websites with high traffic. May follow particular ebook guru’s
techniques; take tips of SEO website owners…whatever. Anyhow
their end goal has to be constant inflow of traffic. Increase in
traffic. So home business entrepreneurs, keep this one thing in
mind. There are different ways and means available online to
reach the same end (I can’t repeat it enough-Traffic is the end
goal). Sales and profits will come only if there is traffic. You
might be selling the most wonderful product at the most
reasonable price, but if its not reaching the right audience,
there is little point, you will agree. So work towards traffic,
more hits, unique hits and there is no way you will not make a
successful home business entrepreneur. Analyzing this traffic is
another as important aspect, which we will learn some other
time. It’s a topic by itself. A very crucial one at that. May be
reading statistics gives you a clue that you run a home business
but lot of your traffic is coming from pharmacy sites. It will
help you plan your future course of action that much better.

How to Save Money on the Adwords Network

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Over the years I have had many accounts with Adwords, spending a small fortune with the Adwords service. So naturally I have picked up many cost saving tricks. I am aware that most people feel Adwords costs too much and delivers little results, this is completely untrue. Adwords is a service that is here to help us, so I have written this article to help web developers make the most out of the service.

1) Set your currency,

First and foremost, select the currency of which you locally trade in. You may think its wise to start your Adwords account in USD, but if you do not live in the USA you may get a shock when you find how much you have been charged.

2) Use negative keywords,

You are using the Adwords service to generate website traffic, so obviously you want the right traffic to generate revenue. Start by using negative keywords for people whom you do not want to click on your advert, the best place to start is the keyword “free”. As I doubt you want to waste money on traffic that will not generate revenue.

3) Make a strict daily budget

Make sure you have set out a daily budget, Adwords generally advise a way out of proportion budget. After all most new Adwords customers have no idea how effective the advertising will be. Do not start off with a bang, your pocket will feel it.

Just as important as the budget, be careful with the CPC rate. I advise you to start with a low number, each click soon adds up very quickly. I actually found that by lowering my CPC rate by 50% I doubled my visitor count…

4) Check those clicks!

One of the most talked about problem with Adwords is, click fraud. There are two main types of click fraud: the first is when any one starts clicking away at your advertisements trying to waste your money. It is very hard to stop this kind of fraud, if you are a victim stop your ads and file a report to Google ASAP.

The second main issue is now that google allows Web Developers to earn money off their websites by placing ads (Adsense) .some Web Developers try to cheat the system by clicking on their ads as much as possible. The best way to stop this kind of fraud is check your page log, Adwords allow you to block out websites that you do
not want your advert to be placed on.

Adwords does not have many protections against Click fraud, although they do disable Adsense accounts who cheat. Google are very hesitant to refund the victims, if at all. Reports tell many organisations are actually suing Google to get their money back, so be careful.

In this article I have illustrated some of the most beneficial ways to save money when advertising with Adwords. My main advice to you is, do not go crazy with your spending. You may not see the results you are after, it does take a while to get to know Adwords. I have had many successful ad campaigns using the Adwords network. However I do advise to look around, with the ever growing popularity of MSN search you may actually find it much more affordable.

Article Syndication for Better Search Engine Position

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

If you’re sick of being #987 for your best Google keyword
phrase, here are simple-to-implement changes that can
skyrocket your listing (and they don’t have anything to do
with what is ON your page!)

First, write some articles. Write at least one article of
150 to 250 words each week. While you can make it “keyword
rich,” don’t feel bound by particular keywords. The
important key is to make it appealing to publishers.

Your goal is to get other people to run your articles for
you.

Second, syndicate your article. Syndication allows other
webmasters to use your article on THEIR site. They want to
run the articles since it gets them a larger content set as
well as can help increase their own search engine position.

You can learn more about syndicating your articles here:

http://www.All-In-One-Business.com/groups

Third, whenever someone places one of your articles on
their site—with a link back to yours—give them two links
back in return. One link to their main page, and one link
to the page your article is listed on in their site.

When linking to your own article, use a keyword rich
linking text applicable to the article.

Here’s why this is important:

It is not just the number of links to your site that
matters, it is also the relative importance of the pages
linking to your site. The more important the pages linking
to you, the higher your search position.

So, when you link to the actual pages on which your
articles reside, you boost those pages “importance” and
ultimately the importance of the link to your page.

But there is even a better way:

If you own more than one site, link from a third site to
your articles on other people’s pages. This may help you
even more.

Children’s Christmas Activities

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

The problem with planning for children’s Christmas activities may be knowing when to edit the list. There are so many things that typify this holiday that adults may need to keep a watchful eye on the exhaustion level of all concerned. Plan but don’t over plan. Know when it’s time to just let them be kids. With concerts, plays, Mass, Christmas dinner, family photos and gift giving it’s easy for over stimulation and utter exhaustion to make everyone miserable. Pick and choose from the long list of holiday options. Opt in favor of those activities which can provide the best positive experiences without making too many demands. Let holiday vacations allow for rest and relaxation at least part of the time.

It may be best to simply have one major holiday activity– a party at home with some friends and family. You can come up with lots of good food and even make this the night that everyone sits down to that Christmas dinner. Go online and find some easy printable Christmas puzzles and games to keep your children quietly entertained for a while. You can also set up an ornament making table. Ornaments can be very simple, made of cut out felt and glitter or paper and a flour/water mixture pressed into a mold and left to dry overnight, then popped out and painted.

A good activity might be helping the kids to create treats for the local birds and squirrels. All you need is a pine cone for each child, some peanut butter, and lengths of string and bird seed. First direct the children to tie their string to the pine cone. There should be a little bit of stem that it can be tied to or the pinecone will be partially opened and children can loop their strings around the opened bases of the pine cones. Then adults should help them to slather peanut butter on the outside of the pine cone with a butter knife. Finally the children get to roll the pine cones in the bird seed. When done each child should have their very own bird treat to take home and tie to a tree for the local wildlife.

Custom Flag Printing - is White a Color?

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

This question I don’t really get asked its more I see when a person requests a quote and say’s “I would like a custom flag made using my logo the colors in my logo are navy blue, red, yellow and white”

After being a custom flag maker for many years I have found out that many flag manufacturers out there especially the one’s on the internet say that the custom flag above is 4 colors when they send the quote.

I would like to tell you right now! This is not true!! The flag above is only 3 colors WHY? White is not a color !

When we screen print onto the flag material if there are 6 colors in your logo then we will use 6 colors eg: blue, red, yellow, green, black, violet.

The color white is not used, the material is white so when we make the film to use to screen print your logo the part which is supposed to be white we don’t use any color.

So next time you go to have a custom flag made be shore they don’t charge you for the color white. If you have white in your logo the flag makers will use white material, most flags are screen printed on white material anyway.

Jason Littlewood of Custom flag makers has been making flags for many years supplying every day people with decorative custom flags see his and the teams work at http://www.custom-flag-makers.com.

Quilts and Quilting

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

For centuries, the making of quilts and quilting has been a living craft, a necessity of the times, where people living in poverty could still provide something useful for their families.

All early quilts were made from any scraps of fabric that came to hand. Subsequently, over the years, basic designs for quilts and quilting evolved and were passed down from generation to generation. Now, with such a range of designs, the skill in choosing fabrics, matching patterns and colours is exciting whether the quilt to be made is patchwork, appliqué or whole cloth. (The difference between these will be explained).

The word quilt is English in origin, meaning a padded bed covering, but this definition hardly does justice to the quilts made in America by the early settlers. Given such wonderful names as Grandmothers Fan, Drunkards Path, Storm at Sea, Wedding Ring, Ohio Star, Log Cabin and Flock of Geese, our imagination is captured even before we see the quilt for real.

We can also imagine the circumstances in which the early quilters worked, with groups of women seated around the quilting frame, working together to create the finished quilt. Such groups had a great social significance and would often have a party-like atmosphere. Special quilts would be made for occasions like engagements and weddings, and ‘freedom quilts’ would be made and given to every young man on his twentieth birthday. Even today, the social significance of quilting remains, through the sharing of ideas and the spreading of designs to groups in all countries round the world.

When you start to make your own quilts you will find that the satisfaction of seeing your finished quilt is such a wonderful experience. You will feel a great sense of achievement as your skill and creativity begin to grow. I would recommend that you always sign and date your quilt and also give it a name, after all it is yours and it is unique. I must warn you though, that after finishing your first quilt you may be so captivated by the possibilities of all the other techniques that this will be the first of many you make over the years to come!

Make Sure To Rest For Muscle Growth

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

One of the best pieces of exercise advice is to make sure you know that your muscles grow when your resting not training. That’s right, you don’t actually get bigger and stronger when you’re in the gym. It’s what you do after your workout that’s the real key to muscle growth. If you don’t let your muscles recover correctly, you’re body will become over trained and it will be in a state of constent “catch up”. This is far from the ideal state that you want your body in. What you want is to truly prime your body for your next workout and give it enough rest and recuperation to fully optimize your training.

The worst thing you can do is over train your body. This will lead to muscle atrophy (breaking down muscle) and you may experience the flu because of this. When you train, make sure to limit your resistance training sessions to 45 minutes max. Your body’s testosterone levels start decreasing after about 45 minutes, so anytime after this length and you’re really just wasting your time. Focus on hitting it with a high level of intensity for 45 minutes and get out of there. Take care of business and start your recuperation. When you get back from your workout, you might also try sitting in a jacuzzi or sauna to really relax and let your muscles recover. Rest is extremely important when training hard, so make sure to take the time to recover and grow from your training sessions.
