Is your site ready to face the New Year?

Filed under: Publishing — admin @ 11:17 pm

As we look back at another year, and forward to another, there’s time to reflect on how our websites performed in the last year and decide on what improvements need to be made for the New Year ahead. This is the first part of a two-part article that looks at 10 things that a website owner can do to improve their websites for the New Year.

Did your site perform as well as it could have in 2004?

If you own an ecommerce store, did it receive as many orders as you’d have liked during the festive period? Did you get lots of support requests asking for further information? Did your site suffer from a high abandonment rate? We all need our sites to be successful and produce a return on investment on the cost of promotion and advertising. However, it’s easy to be taken in by technology and miss the basics that will help improve the performance of your website, decrease abandonment and increase conversion.

The list below identifies 10 ways in which you can improve your website. All of the improvements can be made without major investment, new technology or the need for additional resources:

  • 1. Ensure that you make your USP/benefits clear on every page
  • 2. Ensure that provide improved ways in which your visitors can contact you
  • 3. Improve the quality of the information on your site such that they can make informed purchasing decisions
  • 4. Ensure that your site is accessible to all visitors and search engines
  • 5. Add new ways of delivering content to 3rd parties
  • 6. Improve conversion through removing unnecessary registration and requests for too much information
  • 7. Offer greater customer service through not only meeting ecommerce regulations but surpassing them
  • 8. Improve the site such that it offers an improved user-experience
  • 9. Stop worrying about page rank and start focusing on customers
  • 10. Take time to understand how visitors use your site and learn from that knowledge

1. Ensure that you make your USP/benefits clear on every page

The Internet breaks down many boundaries. Not only has the Internet made it possible for everyone to trade online, but it has also removed geographical barriers making it far easy to purchase products from overseas. However, as an ecommerce site owner, this leads to increased competition. In the high-street, you may have had a handful of competitors. Now, you may have hundreds or thousands. Therefore, it’s necessary to stand out from the crowd and clearly identify your business and websites USPs and benefits. These may be:

  • Price
  • Product quality
  • Service quality
  • Product knowledge
  • Product uniqueness
  • Product availability
  • Free delivery

No matter what your USPs are, make sure that they are clearly identified on your website and make sure that these USPs are visitor-focused by asking yourself the question, how does the USP benefit the visitor.

2. Ensure that provide improved ways in which your visitors can contact you

Visitors are bound to have questions regarding the products/services that you provide as well as about your business. In order to assist visitors make informed decisions, it’s important that you provide the answers to these questions on your site. There are a number of ways of doing this. These include :

  • Frequently asked questions – as you receive new questions from visitors, ensure that you add them to your FAQ
  • About us information
  • Improved product information

However, it’s clearly not always possible to pre-empt the full range of questions a visitor may ask. Therefore, make sure that you make it easy for visitors to contact you if they have questions. Also, ensure that these ways of communicating with you are clearly identified on your website by locating them in the header area of each page. Popular means of allowing visitors to contact you include:

  • Email
  • Telephone – clearly identify the hours that you can be contacted
  • Contact us form – an improvement on email as you can direct visitors to include information to enable you to be able to provide an improved service
  • Live Help – only provide live help if you are able to support it full time
  • Call me – make it easier by calling visitors back at a mutually convenient time
  • VoIP (e.g. Skype or Vonage) – save money by using Internet telephony
  • Ticket-based support
  • Forums

3. Improve the quality of the information on your site such that they can make informed purchasing decisions

Unless you sell unique products or services, there’s the possibility that you use product information provided by the product manufacturer or supplier. Although this information can be very detailed, in most cases, it isn’t or the information is targeted more at those selling the product rather than those wanting to purchase it.

Due to the ease in which the information can be used on your site, it’s likely to be used on many of your competitor’s sites too.

Stand out from the crowd and provide personalised content about the products and services that you sell. After all, to be able to sell your products and services, you need to be familiar with their use, features and unique selling points. Make sure that the product details you provide include as much information as possible in an easy-to-read and enticing format.

4. Ensure that your site is accessible to all visitors and search engines

Many ecommerce stores remain inaccessible to many visitors and search engines. Given the need to ensure that all websites are accessible to visitors with disabilities, it is very important to ensure that your website meets the WCAG guidelines for website accessibility. For more information about the guidelines, check out the RNIB’s Web Access Centre at http://www.rnib.org.uk/xpedio/groups/public/documents/code/public_rnib008789.hcsp.

Some of the most important visitors to your website are search engine spiders. These spiders visit the pages on your site and are used to rank the pages within the search engines for particular keywords and phrases. The spiders follow links to your site from other sites, and then follow the links within the site. However, there are certain impediments that may prevent spiders from getting to some or all pages within your website. These include:

  • Use of JavaScript menus – some JavaScript menus do not include links to internal pages within the website that search engine can follow. If possible, replace the JavaScript menu with an alternate CSS based menu.
  • Use of dynamic URL parameters – search engines are getting more tolerant to having multiple parameters in URLS. However, it is still advised that no more than 3 or 4 parameters are used.
  • Use of session IDs – Many ecommerce stores require the use of session information in order to be able to maintain information about visitors as they interact with the store. However, if session IDs are passed as URL parameters, they can prevent search engines from spidering the website.

It is very important that these impediments are removed in order that your site can be completely spidered. For example, an ecommerce site may have many thousands of pages (associated with the products). However, through the use of too many dynamic URL parameters or session IDs, the major search engines many only be able to list a handful. This therefore gives less content available within the search engines associated with your website that could potentially be found by a search engine user.

5. Add new ways of delivering content to 3rd parties

Article and news syndication using RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is becoming widespread across the Internet. However, to date, syndication of content for ecommerce stores hasn’t been as popular. This is set to change and ecommerce site owners start to use content syndication to keep their visitors and customers up to date with their:

  • Latest news
  • Special offers

The use of content syndication can be used to replace the need to publish opt-in newsletters. This saves you time and ensures that your visitors/customers are always up-to-date with the latest developments on your website.

In part 2 of this article, we will provide more detail about the following tips for website success in 2005:

Acupuncture: A benefit to the well Individual?

Filed under: Medical Resources — admin @ 10:40 pm

Before we begin a discussion about the benefits of acupuncture, let’s talk about the origins of acupuncture. It was first used in China over 2000 years ago, and is one of the oldest medical procedures in the world. It is a family of procedures that stimulates the anatomy of the body and helps to balance the energy flow throughout the body. It is this kind of acupuncture that is practiced in the United Sates today, through the use of tiny, metallic needles placed in affected areas and manipulated by hand or by electrical stimulation.
Acupuncture is the basic foundation for Traditional Chinese Medicine and is based on the belief that there are two opposing and inseparable forces within our body. They are known as the Yin and Yang of the entire person. The Yin is representative of the cold, slow, or passive principle, and yang represents the hot, excited or active principle. A healthy state is achieved by maintaining a balance state of the yin and yang. This is done through vital pathways or meridians that allow for the flow of qi, or vital energy. The vital energy flow occurs along pathways known as meridians. These meridians connect over 2,000 acupuncture points along the body. There are 12 main meridians, and 8 secondary meridians. Although traditional western medicine does not completely understand how acupuncture works, the proof that it does work has been shown in several studies conducted by western medical facilities.
Now, let’s move to the question of does it work? According to the National Institute of Health, the answer would be yes. Acupuncture has been shown to be effective in many areas of health care. Areas such as postoperative nausea, chemotherapy side effects, osteoarthritis, low-back pain, headache, menstrual cramps, addiction, carpal tunnel syndrome, and asthma, just to name a few. The study revealed that acupuncture was able to provide pain relief, improve function and mobility of joints due to arthritis inflammation, and served to complement standard care.
Although there are many who would doubt the effectiveness of acupuncture, once they are a patient, they are believers. It has been proposed that acupuncture works and produces its effects through regulating the nervous system. The theory proposes that since acupuncture produces its effect through regulation of the nervous system, it induces the release of endorphins and immune system cells at specific sites on the body. There is also the theory that acupuncture alters the brain chemistry by the changing the neurotransmitters in the brain.
Without doubt acupuncture was a benefit in the study, and as a patient myself, I can vouch for the wonderful effect it has had on my back. Although acupuncture is classified as an alternative medicine therapy, and there is still much to be understood about the way it works, it is a proven aid in maintaining optimal health.
But what about the well individual, can acupuncture provide a benefit to them? Absolutely. Because acupuncture works off the belief that we must maintain balance of our vital energy flow in order to remain healthy, acupuncture serves as the tool for realignment. Our vital energy flow can be out of balance, and we still feel and appear quite healthy. It is in this capacity that acupuncture serves as a sort of preventive medicine. Checking and balancing the flow of energy on the meridian points in your body is like your car receiving a tune-up before it is in need of a repair. get more health and fitness articles at http://www.anabolic.ca and http://www.takingsteroids.com

Enhance Your Already Perfect Penis By Shaving It

Filed under: Gender Issues Info — admin @ 9:44 pm

Shaving on and around the penis is being done by males not just for surgery anymore. Just take a look around the locker room the next time you’re at the gym.

Today’s males say shaving the pubic hairs on and around their penis is a way to feel fresh and look neat and clean. And cleanly shaving their shaft allows a condom to slip on and off much easier.

These are very good reasons to support shaving the penis indeed.

But - If a male is being totally honest, he’ll tell you that he is shaving his pubic hair because it gives his penis the appearance of being larger and it gets a lot more, ahem, attention when it’s cleanly shaved.

So for those of you males who are interested - Here are a few things you should know before shaving on and around your penis:

1) Never start shaving your penis unless you’re sober and fully alert. The pubic area is much more sensitive than your face, which means it’s much easier to hurt yourself, so you want your wits about you.

2) And while penis shaving is pretty easy to do, it does require patience and care.

3) If you’re shaving for the first time and have long pubic hairs, trim them with scissors or better yet, a hair trimmer.

4) Take a long, hot shower or bath. This will open the follicles, (the skin depressions from which hair emerges), and soften your naturally coarse pubic hairs to make shaving easier.

5) Pat dry your shaft and surrounding area with a soft, clean towel.

6) Apply a generous amount of a rich lubricant. Allow this to sit for at least 3 minutes before you begin shaving.

7) ALWAYS use a new blade in your razor.

Note: It’s rumored that if you start shaving your general pubic area, testicles, and inner thighs, you’ll get the best optical illusion, er, affect of a larger penis.

If you do decide to start shaving your general pubic area and inner thighs while you’re at it, make sure another new blade is easily available so you can change blades if your razor starts to drag.

Start by shaving the penis in the direction the hair grows, making sure you shave all sides. If it isn’t already erect, gently pull your penis upwards. This will make it easier to shave.

Once you’ve removed all hairs, go back and shave against the way the hair grows. This will give you the clean, close and smooth shave you’re after. But don’t shave the same area more than this second time or apply too much pressure. The last thing you want is a razor burn on your penis from shaving.

After shaving your penis, make sure to completely rinse off any traces of the lubricant with warm water. Then rinse with cold water. This will close and calm the follicles and generally tone the skin.

Pat, don’t rub, your penis dry with a clean, soft towel.

Some males apply a non stinging astringent after shaving. But to avoid any reaction, just lightly dust your penis with a talc free powder or plain cornstarch.

Ultimately, you want to prevent any kind of irritation to this newly raw skin. So focus on keeping it dry and doing what you can to limit initial friction. If you don’t already, wear some loose fitting boxer shorts for a while after shaving.

Many males go as long as possible between shaves in the belief that it will reduce skin irritation. But it’s been suggested that the incoming hair stubble is what causes skin problems, so shaving more often is actually better.

Males who are very physically active are usually shaving every other day.

While it’s a fact that eventually, after regular shaving, the hairs will become weaker and softer and your penis will remain smoother - If you’re not ready, able and willing to follow the regimen outlined here, you probably shouldn’t start shaving your penis.

Because anyone will tell you, there’s only one thing worse than a hairy penis - And that’s a stubbly, scabby penis.

A dry shaver is definitely the safest penis shaver. Do some research and discover the compact shaver that’s designed specifically for safely shaving the penis.

I Hear Excuses All The Time

Filed under: Cars, Trucks, USVs — admin @ 5:22 pm

I hear excuses all the time about why more people don’t restore their cars, I can’t afford it, it’s not practical, it’s just a car, but no I won’t sell it, I’d rather see it rotting in the back yard, or sent to the car crusher.

It’s better if nobody has it, if I can’t, I don’t want to see a person get who would actually care about it own it, or the most common one, nobody wants that old piece of junk any way, I’ve had it for years, and I don’t want it.

Believe me somebody is looking for just the car that you have to sell, it’s just a matter of putting you and them together, I realize that can be a hard thing to do, but do you remember how excited you were when you first got your car, it can do the same thing for another person to.

I look for people to buy cars from all the time, so I research the cars that are on the market, and the places where I can find them, and believe me, I’m not the only person who does this sort of thing.

A little later in the article I will tell you about some of these places that I have found to help you sell your car, or to buy one of course, but for now I will keep harping on the fact that you should not just let your old classic car rot away.

The first point is fairly obvious, they don’t build them anymore, and it’s getting hard to find one that’s in good shape, people are always looking for the classic American cars, and as long as their still around, people will always want them.

The second point is this, if these cars just disappear, we lose out on all the class and style that they have, every one of the old cars has it’s own look, and it’s own style, unlike the new cars, that all just seem to look alike.

Here’s point three, what if we wake up one day, and all the classic cars are just gone, like the dinosaurs that once roamed the earth, this can’t be allowed to happen, what a boring life that would be, if every car looks like the imports do.

All I can say is yuk, don’t let it happen, if you have a classic car and you don’t want to restore, then please sell it, but think about this, don’t look at it as your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, think about what you have, and the condition that it in, and please sell accordingly, most classic car buyers aren’t idiots, and you can’t slip one by them.

So do your research before you sell the car, and sell without trying to rip somebody off on it, you do yourself a favor by being honest, and you do them a favor by selling them just the car that they want.

Are You Too Obsessed with Pursuing Love with Single Women?

Filed under: Hall Of Relationships — admin @ 4:54 pm

Are you aware that you can become so obsessed about finding a girlfriend that it can backfire on you?

You can get so preoccupied with the concept of finding someone special to change the way you feel about yourself in a positive way. If this is the way you feel, then you may have an underlying problem with your self-image. That being the case, work on yourself instead of trying to find a relationship with single women that will miraculously heal your self-image.

One thing that can really hurt you in your pursuit of single women is trying too hard. When you try too hard you tend to come across as desperate, overly anxious to get involved with someone, appear depressed, etc.

This can really scare women away when you try too hard. You will do much better when you feel relaxed and self-confident when meeting and approaching single women.

So, in closing, it’s best not to become overly obsessed in finding someone to love. Another drawback to this mentality is you will tend to lose interest in other important areas of your life. Your friendships may suffer, you may stop enjoying your hobbies, become reclusive, depressed, give up your recreational activities, etc. You need to live a well-rounded life filled with lots of social activities, sports, reading, meditation, vacations, etc. and not spend all your time getting depressed because you don’t have someone special in your life. Be patient, my friend, and before you know it, you can meet the love of your life.

A Coffee Roaster For All Occasions

Filed under: Eating — admin @ 2:36 pm

Coffee roasters and those who roast, brew and serve the ultimate cup of coffee are now esteemed professionals within the social fabric of our community at large. A good coffee roaster is a little like a celebrity chef these days, complete with loyal followings, highly descriptive reviews and the ability to command premium prices for their products and services. As coffee continues to grow in elevation from merely a mundane beverage to something of art form, a good coffee roaster has begun to take on a glamorous aura.

But there is a café on almost every street corner or every suburb now and every barista thinks of him or herself as the best roaster on the block. The professional barista is a now fiercely competitive industry and cafes and restaurants across the globe fight to retain the barista that can produce a coffee that will have customers returning time and time again. So, because roasting is everywhere, how do you choose the coffee roaster for you?

Your first question is whether you’re looking for wholesale coffee roasters to supply your business, or retail roasters to keep you happily supplied with beans at home. But for our purposes, let’s say you’re looking for a retail roaster to feed your coffee habit because you are a die hard coffee lover.

One approach is to decide exactly which coffee beans you prefer. Once you have found the coffee beans that you like you can then search for that specific bean. It might take you some time to research this and you might want to join a coffee club so that you can do some extensive taste testing. They will send you a number of coffee varieties each month for a small fee and this gives you the opportunity to try out blends and pure coffees to see what you prefer.

But once you know what coffee you are after, the online suppliers can tell you which of the coffee roasters that carry the beans you are looking for, who has the freshest beans and who has most skill in roasting them to perfection. You might also want to look for coffee bean suppliers that are geographically close to you. By doing so you can be confident that the beans can be delivered faster and will therefore be fresher when they reach your door.

But before you make your final decisions, consider organic coffee as an option. Organic coffee is another choice you might want to make. This coffee is certified to have been grown and processed without chemical intervention and is becoming more and more popular with wholesale outlets. It generally has a mild nutty flavor. It is also becoming popular with celebrities who are eager to adopt the coffee cause. Organic coffee, understandably sells very well in Hollywood.

Now all that is left to do is try several brands of coffee to find out which one you like the best. Enjoy your next coffee!

Think you’re too busy to capture and store your memories in a scrapbook? Let me show you scrapbookin

Filed under: World Of Gardening — admin @ 11:19 am

Do you remember when your child lost their first tooth? You
probably took a picture to preserve the memory. You get a warm
feeling just thinking about that cute smile. Hey, why not take a
look at that photo right now?

What’s that? You can’t because you don’t know which box of
photos you stored the picture in? That warm fuzzy feeling has
quickly turned to frustration because you know that memorable
smile is lost, buried in some drawer or box somewhere, possibly
lost forever.

That scenario used to be the story of my life. That is until I
decided to stop losing memories and start cherishing them with a
scrapbook. What better way to relive memories– page by page,
memory by memory.

Okay, I know what you’re saying; “I don’t have time for
scrapbooking, that’s only for crafty people.” I know that’s what
I used to say. Then I discovered some simple tips to make
scrapbooking easy and yet still professional looking.

Basically, all you need to scrapbook is an album, some glue, a
pair of scissors, and some photographs or newspaper clippings.

Any fabric, ribbon, or bits of leftovers from other projects can
be used to embellish your scrapbook.

If you’re too busy to get those materials, you can even buy
complete kits that include not only the album but also the
background paper for your project. Some kits will even include
embellishments like beads, flowers, feathers, and even paste on
letters. Get one or more of these kits and you can create a
beautiful keepsake in just a just a couple of hours.

Once you have you scrapbooking materials together, it’s time to
pull out your photos. While going through your photos you’re
going to start thinking about a “theme” for your scrapbook page.

Creating a theme is important if you want your scrapbook to look
professional. It’ll also make the process of sorting through
photos easier and that’s the effect we’re after; fast, easy and
professional looking.

To create your theme, think about these questions;

- what is the overall purpose for my scrapbook? - Who is the
scrapbook for? - Who is the scrapbook about?

Once you have your answers -you have the appropriate subject of
your theme!

Now that you have your scrapbook theme, it’s time to start
planning your pages. Another tip I found that made this process
easy is planning a “Title” for my pages.

Titles can be as basic as the date of an event, the name of an
individual, or a specific event. Or they can also be more
interesting and exciting by including quotes, sayings, fillers,
or simple phrases. Some great places to look for title
inspiration; in greeting cards, advertisements, and commercials.

That’s it! You now have the basics to start creating great
looking scrapbooks. I wish I had known it was so easy; my family
photos have spent nearly all their memorable lives hidden in
drawers until I discovered these simple tips.

So what are you waiting for?

Now that you know these simple tips, you can save and cherish
memories forever in a professional looking scrapbook, in very
little time. And believe me, your friends and family will say
“wow” when they come over to take a look. Become an easy
scrapbook maker today!

How to Get the Best Deals for Real Estate Flipping

Filed under: Real Estate Portal — admin @ 11:12 am

People often marvel at the profits that can be made in “flipping” real estate. They wonder how someone made such a good deal – how did they buy a property for $50,000 and fix it up to make $70,000? There’s a simple trick that can help you improve your success if you’re looking to invest in real estate: volume bidding.

Most people will only look at one or two houses when they’re planning their investments. They don’t want to take the time, or they feel like once they’ve already spent the time investigating a house they need to go ahead and invest in it. Often, this forces them to up the price above what they would really be willing to pay – they feel committed, and they don’t want to lose all the work they’ve done. The trick to making a good profit is not to make this mistake. You can’t let yourself get dragged into this process – if you psychologically commit to buying a house, you’re not going to get a good deal. You need to set a price that will give you a good profit, make the offer, and walk off to the next house to do the same thing. This won’t get you all the houses you want – in fact, many will reject your offer as too low. But if you do it multiple times, eventually someone’s going to take it. If you make sure that every bid you make is one you’d be glad to accept, you’ll end up getting the good investment deals even if you only get a couple of owners to sell to you.

Teve Torbes is an awesome owner of a advantage flea control site, who knows a whole lot about flea treatment stuff. He has also created a valuable flea bites resource.
