Building Business Credit

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

Most businesses want to be able to borrow money when they need it, without the owners having to guarantee the loans personally. This means less risk to the owners. But wanting to get credit for your business and actually getting it can be two different things.

One company recently approached us because over the past two years they had created a successful business, with over twenty employees. But they couldn’t get a business loan because they hadn’t taken the time to build a business credit profile and didn’t know where to start.

You may have seen marketing hype about how a business credit profile can overcome a bad personal credit file. In most cases, however, it’s important that small businesses have both good business credit, as well as solid personal credit on the part of the owners. This is especially true in the current environment where investors and venture capitalists aren’t handing money out to just anyone who can breathe and has a business idea! Even established businesses will find it necessary in some cases to provide the business owner’s personal guarantees on some loans or credit cards.

Building business credit is completely different from building personal credit, though your personal credit may be linked in some ways. For example, credit reporting giant Experian sells a business credit score that is based on both the risk of the business and the personal credit of the owner of the company.

In addition, you don’t have the same credit protection laws with business credit that you do with personal credit. So you want to make sure you start out on the right foot, or it can be difficult to make corrections.

The key to properly establishing business credit is twofold:

1. Set up the proper business structure and take basic steps to ensure your business appears “real” and stable to the business credit bureaus. That means getting the proper occupational licenses, and a phone number that is listed with directory assistance in the businesses’ name, among other things. Your business will generally need some form of corporate structure to effectively build a business credit rating.

2. Borrow or buy products and services from companies that will report your credit history to the major business credit reporting agencies such as Dunn & Bradstreet and Experian.

Unlike personal credit ratings, where you can have a small income yet get a top FICO credit score, the best business credit scores are reserved for large stable businesses, those with several million dollars in sales a year and 25–50 or more employees.

But don’t let that stop you! By taking a few careful steps, you can start small and still build a decent business credit rating to get you the borrowing power your venture needs.

A few warnings:

1. Don’t try to “buy” good credit! Some companies will offer to “sell” trade references for a large sum of money. This is a rip off and if the credit reporting agencies find out, they will purge those references.

2. Don’t spend large sums of money on a shelf corporation from a company that “guarantees” you will be able to use it to get loans. More often than not, the company won’t have the kind of credit rating you’ll need to be successful.

3. Don’t try to get business credit as a substitute for bad personal credit. If you have damaged personal credit, work on rebuilding it while you’re building business credit.

Entrepreneurs are usually hard-working, creative and willing to get the job done. Fortunately, those are the same qualities that will help you through the process of building strong business credit. Animal Crossing for Nintendo Game Cube: Why My Husband Can’t Play

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

It’s been almost four years since it’s debut and Animal Crossing is still a very popular title for owners of Nintendo GameCube. It’s adorable animal characters and evolving world make it a great game for kids and grownups (well some, say me) alike. But never, ever, under any circumstance play Animal Crossing with your husband. Take it from someone whose been there, some games are better left unshared

If you have never played Animal Crossing and are a fan of the ‘cute and simple’ games like Harvest Moon and Spyro the Dragon, this is a really fun game. You take on the persona of either a boy or a girl who decides it’s time to leave home and strike it out alone. Somehow you end up in a town inhabited by (talking) animals. It is a lovely little town and you decide to stay. In the town there is a shopkeep (Tom Nook), who is also a slum…er… landlord on the side. He will be happy to sell you one of the four homes he owns in trade for doing some odd jobs. Working hard you eventually pay off your home and can have an even bigger one made if you desire. At Tom’s shop and around the town you can find TONS of items and furniture to decorate with. Fun!

After having your basic needs for shelter and a cute coffee table met, you decide it’s time to get to know your neighbors. Have I mentioned they are talking animals? This town is a habitat for so many different types of wildlife, you ask yourself how they can possibly coexist as they do. They make it work and some eventually become friends of yours, or at least tolerated neighbors. You can visit their homes, give them gifts or just hang out with them. You can even design clothes for your toon or an animal friend to wear. Because everyday in the ‘real world’ is also a day in the Animal Crossing realm (say it’s September 17th here, it will also be Sept 17th in the game) there will be interesting things for you and your animal friends to do. You might pick fruit, fish, collect butterflies or attend a holiday festival. There is even a post office where you can write letters to the animals to let them know how much you like them so they don’t feel lonely and move away(it’s always sad when an animal feels neglected and leaves town).

I played Animal Crossing happily for many months, enjoying the changing of the seasons and the holidays. There is no violence or crime in the Animal Crossing world. The worst damage you can do to a resident is to hit him on the head with your butterfly net until they get angry and stormclouds brew over their heads. It was a peaceful existence I had with the animals and I cherished each moment. Until that one fateful day when my husband moved in.

My landlord had three other homes for rent so I thought I’d extend the offer to my husband. I wanted him to share in the lovely world the animals and I had created. I should have known early on, when the animals asked what his name was and he replied Jerk-Face that things would get ugly. But I have never been good at seeing red flags.

Jerk-Face worked hard to pay for his home. In fact, he had a much nicer home than I did within days. He toiled for Tom Nook and I admit to being a bit envious. He had not, however, made friends with any of the animals yet and I felt he was missing out on the comaraderie of the town. I urged him to venture out and meet his new friends. Although four people can live in the Animal Crossing town, only one person can play at a time. I had a long week at work so I told him that he was in charge of keeping the animals happy while I was away. On Friday I asked him how things in the Animal Crossing world were going. He smiled wickedly.

I had seen that smile before. We had played Sims together for awhile and this was the same smile he had when my sim-girl up and left my house to marry his evil, scientist sim, who made her work all day while he made potions. I think the scientist’s name was Jerk-Face, too. Why hadn’t I learned my lesson then?

I grabbed the controller and logged in my character. I quickly saw what he was grinning about. All of the animals were bringing me letters that Jerk-Face had written them. They went something like this…
Dear Cow….Sleep with one eye open you stupid buttwipe. I’m having steak for dinner! mwahahaha…Love and Kisses, Jerkface

The animals were also wearing new clothes, Jerk-Face exclusives. They were bright red and black nightmares with pictures of devils and skulls painted on them. I glared at my husband and he shrugged.

But, perhaps, the very worst thing he had done was to chase the animals with the butterfly net all week, hitting them so many times that a few left town without saying goodbye. He was quite proud of himself.

“What have you done to my town?!” I asked, wanting to find a butterfly net of my own to beat him over the head with.

“I’ve cleaned out the rabble.” He reported happily.

My face reddened. The animals had coexisted together but the whole town was in mayhem because Jerk-Face had moved in.

“You can’t play anymore.” I said to him, comforting a camel. That would teach him to destroy my fantasy world.

“Thank you.” he said, kissing my cheek and heading to his computer to turn on Grand Theft Auto.

I played AC after that, but it was never the same. I missed my friends that had moved away, and weeks later animals were still bringing me the letters Jerk-Face had written. Without anything to capture, beat, kill or zap my husband had been bored. Though we were both gamers our tastes differed greatly in genres. He had given mine a try, but in the end it played out his way.

Health Insurance Companies: How to Make the Right Choice

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

Shopping for health insurance can sometimes be overwhelming. If you don’t have employer-sponsored insurance, weeding through your options for individual health plans can become time-consuming and confusing.

No one wants to dump their hard-earned money down the drain. But they also don’t want to pay huge sums for doctor’s visits, medical tests or hospital stays if and when they become ill.

The key is to find the best balance possible between the two: coverage and rates.

A great health insurance plan starts with a great health insurance company. So what’s the best way to find one, without becoming totally overwhelmed in the process?

Well first of all, don’t jump into anything. Spend some time shopping around, checking out insurers, and talking to family and friends about their experiences with particular health insurance companies and agents.

You might be surprised what you find out…and it might just save you considerable time and money!

But beyond that, finding a trustworthy health insurance company is a matter of research and planning. You should look for a company that is honest, helpful, financially stable, and offers you choices in doctors, hospitals, billing procedures and other services.

Where can you find this information?

Through industry watchers like A.M. Best, your state insurance department, the Better Business Bureau, and even the doctors and hospitals in an insurer’s provider network. These professionals can give you a wide variety of information on particular health insurance companies, such as:

  1. Customer satisfaction levels
  2. The number of complaints lodged against them
  3. The speed and efficiency with which they pay claims
  4. Their financial stability over the long-term
  5. The type and frequency of rate increases you can expect while your policy is in effect

These facts will help you make comparisons and choose the health insurance plan that’s best for you.

Your local chamber of commerce and the Internet are also valuable resources for this type of information. With a few minutes, a little research, and access to the World Wide Web or a telephone, you can find out anything you want to know—things no business can keep secret.

If you don’t know what to ask—or you’re not confident walking through this process alone—find a good local agent who can help you. Consumer shopping services like InsureMe.com can connect you with a local agent who will listen to your concerns…or, if you’re more comfortable doing so, you can ask your friends and family for their recommendations.

Whatever else happens, sitting idly by without health insurance coverage is the absolute worst thing you can do. So log on, pick up the phone, or grab a friend or family member and get the facts.

Before long, you’ll be happy, healthy and covered—for the long-term.

How Your Allergies Can Benefit From Hepa Filters

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

Hepa filters are the most effective air cleaning systems sold
for home use. They are used in hospitals and doctors recommend
them above other air filtration systems for patients with asthma
or severe allergies. They aren’t energy efficient for whole
house filtration systems due to the amount of energy needed to
run them. For this reason, most are intended to treat one space.
You may need to purchase one for the bedroom and another for the
living area.

Hepa is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air filter.
This method is more effective at removing small particles from
the air than any other filtration media. They can be used alone
in an air cleaner or combined with another method, such as an
electrostatic air purifier. These filters are sometimes used on
another appliance, such as a vacuum cleaner or humidifiers in
cold weather or a dry climate. Effectiveness of Hepa Filters The
effectiveness of a filter is measured by the size of the
particles it can remove from the air. This is stated in microns.
The smaller the number, the more particles will be removed from
your air. In general, you should look for a filter that will
remove 99.97% of all particles 0.1 microns or larger.

These filters remove a wide variety of contaminants from the
air. They are very effective at removing dust mites and pet
dander, which are two very common allergens in homes. They also
reduce smoke, pollen and mold spores from the air.

For the air cleaning system to be effective, it needs to fit the
room. Most air purifier models are marked for the number of
square feet they cover. Find out the square footage of the space
where you intend to use the purifier before you go shopping.
Choose one that works for a slightly larger area for best
results. For example, if the room is 300 square feet, look for a
system that will treat 400 square feet. A purifier that works
for only 300 square feet will be less effective at removing all
the particles in your air.

In most cases, these filters are disposable. For the system to
be effective, the filter must be changed as needed. Follow the
directions from the manufacturer for how often it needs to be
changed. The more the air cleaner is used, the more the filters
will need to be changed. In general, you will need to change it
every three to six months. Hepa Vacuum Cleaners If you have an
air cleaner, but you use a traditional vacuum cleaner, the air
won’t be as clean as you would like. Dust and other particles in
the carpet is kicked up into the air by vacuuming. This causes
more irritants in the air for you to breathe. Hepa filters are
being used in vacuum cleaners. The filter traps particles
inside, leaving fewer irritants in the air.

Some vacuum cleaners use a single filter, while others use multi
stage or multiple filters. These filters are cleanable and need
to be replaced yearly. For the system to be effective, you
should look for a filter that is capable of catching small
particles. When replacing filters, be sure to buy the right size
for your vacuum.

A Sober Introduction to Instant Cash Advance Lending Rates

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

One of the most serious recriminations by detractors of the no fax no credit check cash advance industry concerns the annual interest rate ordinarily charged on a short term payday loan which can swell up to hundreds of percents. (If you’re interested, you can check out the payday advance online here.)

This annual percentage rate (aka APR) can be defined as a simple metrics to tag the entire amount of interest a borrower will be paying for a full year. It provides the support structure for gauging which solution displays a higher/lower costs informing the deal, along with other costs required.Decidedly the annual rate of interest is acknowledged to be a unquestionably commodious algorithm bearing upon financial engagements traversing a span of at least twelve months .On the other hand, respecting 2 week fast cash advances the p.a. rates are indisputably hardly suited.

Maybe we should liken a payday loan to jumping a taxi to get home from the railway station. So let’s assume it will set you back by 40 dollars to get home this way. Indeed, 40 dollars is quite a bit of money to spend on merely getting home nonetheless people do it daily as it is convenient and caters to a demand. Right, we all know the alternative: hire a car for a whole day for 40 dollars to drive as many miles as we need to.

Now let’s just say we do that– i.e. hire a car and drive 400 miles during this single day we’ve rented it. Of coursethe champions of APR would most likely advocate that you must annualize to get a true comparison… Ok, so we take the amount we’ll have to pay for the taxi ride (i.e. $2 per mile times 400 miles) which leave us with eighthundred bucks. The “annualized” correlative of the car rental solution vs the taxi hire equals $40 against $800. Of course, as everyone should have realized that renting a car was not exactly the world’s best option, in spite of how much more expensive the annualized rate of interest would have tallied up in this specific case.

The same applies to payday advance loans. Let’s not forget that payday advance loans are restricted to two weeks only, they’re not annual loan arrangements. The obviously high annualized lending rate are no reliable indicator due to the fact that this particular breed of loan does not stretch across the full year. The interest rate charge amounts to close to fifteen to twentyfive percent for the entire loan. A national cash advance is a pretty penny contingency measure not to be taken without duly reviewing all viable alternate possibilities.

No doubt they can be extremely helpful in times of financial necessity. Note, however, they are not implied to constitute long term liquidity instruments.

Diabetic Fruits

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

Fruit gives you energy, vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Examples of fruits which are recommended to Diabetics include:

• Bananas

• Apples

• Fruit Juices

• Strawberries

• Raisins

• Oranges

• Mango

• Guava

• Papaya

Basically, for diabetics,One small apple, one-half cup fruit juice, or one-half of a grapefruit all considered one serving of fruit each.

Some of the healthy ways to eat fruits:

• Eat fruits raw or cooked, as juice with no sugar added, canned in their own juice, or dried.

• Buy organic fruits, which are basically nutritious.

• Eat pieces of fruit rather than drinking fruit juice. Pieces of fruit are more filling and fibrous.

• Drink fruit juice in small amounts.

• Save high-sugar and high-fat fruit desserts such as peach cobbler or cherry pie for special occasions.

High in fibre and very low fat, fruit has many health benefits. This makes fruit a recommended source of carbohydrate for everyone but especially diabetics.

If you make your own fruit juice don’t filter it, retain the fruit pulp, this is the fibre content of the fruit and it slows the fruit juice’s conversion to blood sugar.Fiber is the non-digestible carbohydrate found in plant-based foods. It keeps you feeling full longer, and may also help lower blood sugar and blood fat levels. Choose whole grains and cereals, and eat lots of fruits and veggies, to help you reach a healthy goal of 25 to 35 grams of fiber per day.

Sell More By Showing Consequences

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

It’s a well established fact that customers buy solutions to
their problems or what they perceive will add value to their
lives. The marketer must therefore go beyond the usual feature
listing for their product or service to show what will be the
final consequences to the customer.

For example, knowing that buyers would rather not suffer loss
than gain more you must show what will happen if the customer
refuses to buy your product. It’s all about consequences.

Now here is the point at which most businesses fail in their
marketing efforts. Let’s say that you are trying to sell a
garden tool. This tool will cut a hedge fence much faster and
easier than any other tool on the market. Along with listing all
the new features of this tool and how effective it is at cutting
hedges, the smart marketer must take this to the logical
conclusion.

I mean, what is the customer really buying? It’s not the garden
tool at all. It’s not well manicured fences either. If there
were no neighbors to admire that fence your customer wouldn’t
care less about your garden tool innovation. Your customer is
really buying admiration from others.

Knowing this then you must promise what they are really buying.
You must make every effort to show how your new garden tool will
cause your customer to be the “envy of the neighborhood” because
of the immaculate hedge fences.

The same applies to any product that claims to make the prospect
more money. Nobody is interested in money. People want what
money can bring-power, security, influence and the things money
buy. So the marketer should show the consequences of the
increased income by showcasing the lifestyle that the money
brings. Such as vacations, luxury cars, dream home, relief from
the calls of debt collectors.

After studying several online sales letters I observed that such
websites that showed the owners enjoying the good life because
of their increased income had high conversion rates. Do you get
it? Even if you are selling a product that has nothing to do
with lifestyle you must show that your product will somehow
allow the customer to enjoy an improved lifestyle.

It’s all a matter of how far you go in showing consequences.

Your sales material must pass the common “So what? test. This is
a little tool used by copywriters to determine whether something
should be mentioned or not in a sales letter. It is also used to
show consequences as well.

Let us return to our garden tool example and apply the “So
what?” test to force us into showing consequences.

Copy: “The Maxpro garden tool will cut your hedges in half the
time of the leading garden tool.” [So What?] You will spend less
time cutting your hedges. [So what?] Now you’ll have more time
admiring your hedge fences rather than cutting them. [So what?]
That’s less time working in the garden and more time to spend
with your family. [So what?] Sharper hedges and a happier family.

You can see when we apply the “So what?” rule then it forces us
to follow through to showing the real benefit that the customer
is after-a happier home life.

You cannot assume that your customer will make the connection
either. Of course everybody wants more money but not many people
can connect that money to the deepest needs of their soul.
That’s your job as the marketer. There are many people with lots
of money who still live unfulfilled lives.

Now we started this article by saying that people are more
motivated by fear of loss than the desire for gain. This means
that we have to also show the consequences of not getting our
product.

Returning to our fictitious garden tool we can show how the
prospect who refuses to buy our tool will continue to cut hedges
the ‘old way’, spending a lot of time in the hot sun and still
not getting the sharp edges that our new tool will bring. We can
show how much more hours they’ll spend per year cutting hedges
compared to using the Maxpro hedger. And this brings us to
another point of quantifying consequences.

There are few marketers today who uses this powerful tool; that
of quantifying their product benefits. Using this simple
strategy will help the prospect to visualize what your product
can do for them.

For example, we could show that a well-kept hedge may require
cutting 3 times per month or 12 X 3 = 36 times per year. If the
Maxpro hedger saved you 1 hour per cut then that’s 36 hours per
year. Now if your time is worth $20 per hour to you then that’s
$720 per year. Compare to the cost to the Maxpro which is only
$199, using any other hedger will be really throwing your money
away.

Notice that instead of showing the money they will save by using
the Maxpro we are now showing what they will lose if they don’t
get it!

If you try to show final consequences and show not only what is
gained by having your product or service but what is lost by not
making the purchase you’ll make more sales.

And more sales in your business means … [consequences go here!]

Always show final consequences if you want to make more sales.

eBay Explained: Escrow

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

Some eBayer users on eBay insist on a service called escrow to complete a transaction successfully. If you use eBay at all you should really be aware of what escrow is, and how to use it properly.

So, What is escrow?

Escrow is a service that adds security to auction deals that involve higher amounts of money. Escrow acts as a middle party, between both the buyer and seller.

Basically, as a buyer you will send payment to the escrow service instead of directly to the seller. When the service receives payment, they will email the seller and tell them they can saftely dispatch the item to the buyer.

When you as the buyer receives the goods, you are able to log into the escrow service and release the funds to the seller. Only you can release the funds to them, & only they are only able to release them back to you.

In most cases, you’ll probably have some terms of the sale, that allow you to inspect the goods first before you release the funds.

Overall, it’s a very safe method of dealing with high value items.

Like eBay, Escrow does however attracts fraud & scammers. Many scammers have been know to setup fake escrow websites & then insist on this service being used after the auction.

In these cases the seller, will insist you send payment though their own service claiming it is safe as they do not have access to the funds until you release them. Of course in reality once you send funds they are sent direct to the scammer & you have lost your money.

Alternatively, if you are selling the item(s) the buyer may insist on their own escrow service. They’ll normally tell you that the funds have been sent via the escrow service and you’ll even get an email from the website informing you payment has been made. You recieve such an email & feel you can now ship your goods securely.

Of course the website is fake as well, no funds have ever been deposited and once you send off your item your unlikely to see it again. The website will simply disappear.

eBay only recommends one secure escrow service. This is escrow.com & is one of a few verified escrow companies. To stay safe online if you need to use escrow, follow eBays advice.

Increasing Your Web Site’s Visibility Through Improved Positioning

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

One of the greatest challenges facing website owners is marketing their website. Many believe that they need deep pockets in order set their site apart from the rest, but that is not the case. If you are willing to work hard at it, marketing on the web can garner great results at a minimal cost.

Writing Articles

Viral marketing is a very powerful tool if you can capitalize on it. Writing articles is a great way to encourage people to pass your information on to the next person. By writing articles and including your information, along with a link to your website in the byline, you are building rapport with the reader (IE: showing your knowledge of the topic(s) in which you are writing) and also providing a way for the reader to easily click over to your website. If someone enjoys your articles they will forward them to others they know and/or include them as content in their e-newsletter or website. Website owners and e-newsletter publishers are always looking for content and by writing a number of credible articles they will certainly use these within their online publications. You can also submit your articles to websites such as Article City who will offer them to others who are need of content.

Search Engines

Search engines are a wonderful way to drive targeted visitors to your website, however most find it too difficult to achieve high rankings. There are two approaches to Search Engine Optimization: on-site and off-site optimization. On-site optimization, as the name implies, involves changing your current site. Examples include: inserting the keywords within the title portion of your website, changing the page links to directly relate to the keyword/key-phrases that you are optimizing (IE: if you are optimizing the key-phrase golden lamps, changing the page name from “xyzcompany.com/lamps.html” to “xyzcompany.com/golden-lamps.html”), increasing keyword density on your website (the percentage of times that a keyword appears on your page), and including the keywords in the meta-tags and alt-tags.

Off-site optimization has two main elements: your domain name and incoming links. If starting from the beginning, research has shown that choosing a domain name that contains your main keywords separated by hyphens can improve positions. If your current site’s domain name is not keyword-rich, you may choose to build an “informational website” that is optimized to rank well for your targeted, most competitive terms. Building links, either for the informational web site or your current site has been shown to have a strong direct correlation to improved search engine rankings. The greater quantity and quality of links that you have to your web site the better. Ideally, links coming to your site from other web sites will have your targeted keywords in the anchor text, that is, the text that is underlined and clicked to get to your site.
Let’s re-cap On-site and Off-site optimization and then I will go into more detail that should help you properly develop an “info-site”.

On-site Optimization

• Include the keywords within the title portion of each page (IE: in the upper left most corner of the browser window)

• Change the page links. More descriptive page links that include the specific keyword/key-phrase that you are optimizing for with hyphens between each word favors positively for the search engines.

• Keyword density is important in ranking high on the search engines because if the keyword/key-phrase appears a high percentage of time within a page, the search engine sees this page as important and this will increase your ranking for that keyword/key-phrase. A recommend keyword density percentage is between 3-10%. You can easily find the keyword density of a web page by utilizing this tool: Live Keyword Analysis. An additional note: search engine crawlers also place additional weight on keywords/key-phrases that are hyper-linked, keywords/key-phrases that are in bold, and those that fall between the tags (IE: Keyword goes here).

• Include the keywords in the meta-tags and alt tags. Although meta-tags do not carry the dominate weight in search engine rankings as they once did, it is still very important to include your keywords/key-phrases within the meta-tags of your site. Also, be sure to include the keywords in the alt-tags on your site.

Off-site Optimization

• Exchange links with other websites that are relevant to yours. Be sure that these sites have a Page Rank of at least 4. Google’s search engine crawlers measure the popularity and relevancy of those sites that link to you.

• Be sure to include the keywords/key-phrases within the anchor text of the hyperlinks that lead to your site.

• Building an “info-site” to lead visitors to your main website. This is a powerful tool for increasing the number of targeted visitors to your site. This includes both on-site and offsite optimization techniques.

Below are the steps to lead you through the process.

1. Register a domain that contains the exact keyword/key-phrase that you wish to optimize and separate these keywords with hyphens. Remember: it does not matter if this domain is long because visitors will be clicking over from the search engine to your site, not typing out the URL. For instance, if our website sells web marketing consulting services and we wish to optimize the key-phrase web marketing consulting we may choose a domain such as: web-marketing-consulting-resources.com

2. Be sure to include text links to every page on your site with the page names displaying the keywords that you are optimizing. Many sites bury the page links within images and the crawler cannot read these. By including text links to each page you can overcome this problem. As far as the names of your pages, include the keywords within the page names. For instance: web-marketing-consulting-resources.com/web-marketing-consulting-portfolio.html

3. Each page should have a keyword/key-phrase density of 3-10%. Be aware that if you go much higher than this your pages can be red flagged as “over optimized” and may be punished by the search engines. Also, be sure to include the keyword/key-phrase within the title portion of each page (the upper left most corner of the browser window).

4. Include a resources section within this info site that provides articles and links to other relevant sites that you have traded links with (they should have a Page Rank of at least 4). Write as many articles as possible and include them on this page along with a brief bio and a link to your website. The remainder of the articles should come from other credible resources within your industry.

5. Include a graphical link on every page that links over to your main site. For instance, going back to our web marketing consulting business: If our company name is XYZ Web Marketing, we would include a link on every page that states “We recommend XYZ Company for all of your Web Marketing needs”. Somewhat like a sole advertisement for your business contained within this “info site”.

6. Continue building your Resources page until it is packed with articles and quality links. I recommend having over 100 high quality links and at least 35 articles directly related to your industry.

7. After and only after you have fully completed these steps should you submit your website to the search engines.
