Wall Street Institutions pay billions of dollars annually to convince the investing public that their Economists, Investment Managers, and Analysts can predict future price movements in specific company shares and trends in the overall Stock Market. Such predictions (often presented as “Wethinkisms” or Model Asset Allocation adjustments) make self-deprecating investors everywhere scurry about transacting with each new revelation. “Thou must heed the oracle of Wall Street”… not to be confused with the one from Omaha, who really does know something about investing. “These guys know this stuff so much better than we do” is the rationale of the fools in the street, and on the hill (sic).
What if it’s true, and these pinstriped super humans can actually predict the future, why do you transact the way you do in response? Why would financial professionals of every shape and size holler “sell” when prices move lower, and vice versa? Would this pitch work at the mall? Of course not. Now lets bring this phenomenon into focus. Hmmm, not one of these Institutional Gurus ever doubts the basic truth that both the Market Indices and individual issue prices will continue to move up and down, forever. So, if we were to slowly construct a diversified portfolio of value stocks (My short definition: profitable, dividend paying, NYSE companies.) as they fall in price, we would be able to take profits during the following upward cycle… also forever. Hmmm.
Let’s pretend for a (foolish) moment that broad market movements are somewhat predictable. Regardless of the direction, professional advice will always fuel the perceived operative emotion: greed or fear! Wall Street’s retail representatives (stock brokers), and the new, internet expert, self-directors, rarely go against the grain of the consensus opinion…particularly the one projected to them by their immediate superior/spouse. You cannot obtain independent thinking from a Wall Street salesperson; it just doesn’t fill up the Beemer. Sorry, but you have to be able to think for yourself to stay in balance while pedaling on the Market Cycle. Here’s some global advice that you will not hear on the street of dreams (and don’t get all huffy until you understand what to buy or to sell as well as when to do so): Sell into rallies. Buy on bad news. Buy slowly; sell quickly. Always sell too soon. Always buy too soon, incrementally. Always have a plan. A plan without buying guidelines and selling targets is not a plan.
Predicting the performance of individual issues is a totally different ball game that requires an even more powerful crystal ball and a whole array of semi-legal and completely illegal relationships that are mostly self serving and useless to average investors. But, again, let’s pretend that a mega million-dollar salary and industry recognition as a superstar creates Master of the Universe quality prediction capabilities…I’m sorry. I just can’t even pretend that it’s true! The evidence against it is just too great, and the dangers of relying on analytical opinions too real. No one can predict individual issue price movements legally, consistently, or in a timely manner. Face up to this: the risk of loss is real; it can be minimized but not eliminated.
Investing in individual issues has to be done differently, with rules, guidelines, and judgment. It has to be done unemotionally and rationally, monitored regularly, and analyzed with performance evaluation tools that are portfolio specific and without calendar time restrictions. This is not nearly as difficult as it sounds, and if you are a “shopper” looking for bargains elsewhere in your life, you should have no trouble understanding how it works. Not a rocket scientist? Good, and if you are at all familiar with the retailing business, even better. You don’t need any special education evidentiary acronyms or software programs for stock market success… just common sense and emotion control.
Wall Street sells products, and spins reality in whatever manner they feel will produce the best results for those products. The direction of the market doesn’t matter to them and it wouldn’t to you either if you had a properly constructed portfolio. If you learn how to deal unemotionally with Wall Street events, and shun the herd mentality, you will find yourself in the proper cyclical mode much more often: buying at lower prices and, as a result, taking profits instead of losses. Just what if…

Come to the edge, he said.
They said: “We are afraid”.
Come to the edge, he said.
They came.
He pushed them… and they flew.
–Guillaume Apollinaire
I don’t normally wax poetical, but - for me - this quotation captures three elemental things about the human condition:
1. How FEAR keeps us in small lives
2. How COMPULSION is an audacious way to overcome fear.
3. How our fears turn out to be unfounded
For me, this is very powerful stuff, and it sums up what I see most in my coaching practice.
What keeps many of us in small lives is fear. And what lies beyond those small lives is not what we’re afraid of - but wonderful things - among them the realisation that we ourselves are wonderful. But the fence of fear is often real enough to keep us in the small lives and away from the wonderful ones for all of the years we live.
Have you ever heard about this acronym of FEAR?
False
Expectations
Appearing
Real
I like it, and the next time you feel fear, I suggest you recite it to yourself.
The fears which keep us where we are do not generally reflect reality - they reflect the internal models of reality we hold in our heads. They don’t really exist - so we are held captive by imaginary walls.
African lions, tigers and elephants are caught by men holding up large sheets of cloth. The animals see those sheets as impenetrable walls, and so feel they have nowhere to run except into the waiting cages. If those animals knew about the nature of the cotton walls, their actions and their outcomes would be entirely different! But they don’t know - and their fear prevents them from finding out.
So - fear is a hugely powerful limiter on our actions and our lives. So - what’s to be done?
Well, the second element I drew from the quote was compulsion, and it’s an interesting one. This is not normally a tool we use on adults to help them out, but in the quote - fear was overcome by the removal of choice. He pushed them! He removed their choice to stand back in fear of falling, and he pushed them out of their comfort zone, and into the unknown. Once there, they discovered that their fears were unfounded - and that they had wings. But their own resources would not have allowed them to make that discovery alone - because they were ruled by fear. An external resource was necessary to make the jump - literally.
Of course, we do use compulsion - or something very close - on adults in their lives to make them accomplish big things.
Think of your job. Do you have any real choice about showing up each morning? Can you leave when you like? If the phone rings - can you safely ignore it? When your boss gives you a new task to do - do you have the option to decline it? Conventional employment amounts to a large and sturdy framework in which you - the employee - are compelled to behave in numerous ways in order to accomplish what they pay you for.
This is why you accomplish so much at work - you can’t do otherwise and expect to keep your job. Of course, you may enjoy it - in parts at least - but it is the removal of choice which keeps you focused on the task in hand for eight hours a day, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year - and for 30 years or more. Now that’s an impressive investment!
Compare that to your efforts at building a better life for yourself. You have limited time, many other pressures and there is no compulsion. We have choices - and we tend to choose not to do a whole raft of things which would turn our lives around. This doesn’t make us evil, of course - it makes us busy human beings in a modern world.
Coaching brings an external resource to your aid. It offers a framework which helps us to maintain focus and positive energy - to make better life choices. That’s why coaching works so well.
But you can achieve some of the benefits by applying coaching principles for yourself. Here’s my 4-step system for you to use:
1. Magic Wand
Set aside fear and doubts and pick up your magic wand. Decide what’s going to happen when you waive it - what do you want? Ignore “reality” and suspend disbelief. Stop being “realistic”! Realise that your magic wand will make all fears unfounded - ask yourself what you would have if you knew you could not fail, and that no harm would come to you - with complete certainty. Take time over this.
By de-coupling fear and limiting beliefs in this way, you can connect with what you really want - not just with what you suppose you might be able to have - “things being what they are”. Now you have your dream. Actually, there’s lots of work you can do to make sure you have the right one, but this is good enough for now in the space available. Write it down, and do not permit yourself to downgrade it! Consider it a tablet of stone.
2. “Reality Check”
Now you have your immutable dream, re-connect your fears and “what you know about the world”. List the fears you have in complete detail and with complete honesty. Include the things that you would never dream of admitting to anyone else. Write them out in full - don’t just jot a couple of words. For example, don’t write “fear of public speaking” write “I cannot speak in public because I fear that I will make a dreadfully embarrassing mistake and that people will openly laugh in my face, and I will become hysterical and cry, then leave the stage in tears”. Go on - go nuts!
3. F.E.A.R. Assessment
Now look at your list of fears, but from an external perspective - pretend someone else wrote them, and they’ve asked you - as a wise friend - for your feedback. For each fear, assess it’s rationality. In many cases, you’ll find yourself smiling at how unrealistic the fears are. Others will still seem real enough. Give each fear a score from 1 to 10 - where 1 means this fear has evapourated and 10 means it’s still very frightening. This exercise will give you a much more rational assessment of your living space, and of your potential for change.
4.Start Walking
Here’s a hard part, and it’s one where your coach is invaluable. You have to act in ways which your fears will not like. You have to do stuff you just don’t do. This is where choice is your enemy and compulsion would be your friend.
Weekly coaching sessions are - among other things - a mild form of pressure or compulsion, but you can emulate this by fixing a meeting with yourself once a week. Put a date and time in your diary and don’t over-book it. Get yourself a quiet venue. In your meeting, evaluate your new dream and look at what you did last week, and what you’re going to do next week to make it happen. Feel the fears, and recognise their power. Then recognise that fears are False Expectations Appearing Real - crush them and do what needs doing anyway. This will feel wrong. You’ll resist is strongly, but give it all you’ve got. Coaches have a raft of tools to help here, and an impartial external perspective.
But you can meet up with a friend who is also trying to make something wonderful happen, and you can buddy each other. If you can find a group of 3 or more - that’s OK too. (my coaching circles are a great way to do this, by the way - and see the tele-seminars item on the left).
Remember that permanently changing your life is a significant project, requiring a degree of discomfort, lots of action, some failure and huge determination over time. All of these are reasons why we fail so often - and reasons why people with coaches do so much better. But with this 4-step system and especially with your own support group around you, you can make it happen.
Good luck!

Can Vitamin D really help prevent you from developing cancer?
Once only associated with strong bones and teeth, new scientific
research is finding that Vitamin D can cut your risk of
developing common cancers by as much as 50%.
Says Sara Hiom, head of health information at Cancer Research
UK, “There is evidence to suggest that the vitamin (Vitamin D)
plays a role in keeping cells healthy.”
Researchers in the U.S. have found that the “natural” form of
Vitamin D, D3 or cholecalciferol, can dramatically cut our
chances of getting breast, ovarian, colon, and prostate cancers
by up to 50%.
As a matter of fact, researchers are telling us that they have
known about the link between Vitamin D and a decreased cancer
risk for years.
Well my question to them is this… what has been taking you so
long to tell us?
They say that up until just recently, they did not know the
levels of Vitamin D necessary to provide this decreased risk.
What current research is now finding is that the optimum amount
of Vitamin D necessary to reduce your risk of developing these
cancers is 1000 IU. This is two and a half times the Recommended
Daily Allowance of 400 IU set forth by the Food and Nutrition
Board of the Institute of Medicine here in the U.S.
Many experts now believe that the current RDA of 400 IU for an
adult is too low and does nothing more than help ward off
chronic bone diseases such as rickets and osteoporosis.
Recently, an article appearing in the American Journal of Public
Health, after reviewing 63 independent studies, concluded that
thousands of lives might be saved each year and thousands more
cancers prevented by folks taking supplemental Vitamin D.
Professor Cedric Garland of the University of California in San
Diego who led a major study on the relationship between Vitamin
D and cancer risk said this, “A preponderance of evidence, from
the best observational studies the medical world has to offer
has led to the conclusion that public health action is needed.”
This public health action he advocates is the education of the
public concerning Vitamin D.
What form of Vitamin D is Best?
Remember that your body has the ability to manufacture its own
Vitamin D through direct exposure to sunlight. This form of
Vitamin D is called Vitamin D3 or cholecalciferol. This of
course is the best form of the vitamin.
The synthetic form is Vitamin D2 or ergocalciferol. This is what
is used to fortify milk for instance. It is estimated that it
takes twice as much D2 to get the same benefit as Vitamin D3.
Vitamin D3 can also be found in oily fish such as salmon (3
ounces = 530 IU), sardines (3 ounces = 231 IU), and Mackerel (3
ounces = 214 IU).
Unfortunately not all of us can get the required amount of
sunlight necessary to produce enough Vitamin D3.
Some of us have fair skin and need to use sunscreen when we
venture outdoors. Some of us have dark skin and do not produce
as much Vitamin D3 due to our skin pigment.
And of course, the cold parts of the year can keep most of us
indoors or bundled up when we do head outside.
And also unless you eat lots of oily fish, you are not going to
get your 1000 IU there either.
Professor Garland warned about the dangers of overexposure to
the sun, “Dark-skinned people, however, may need more exposure
to produce adequate amounts of vitamin D, and some fair-skinned
people shouldn’t try to get any vitamin D from the sun. The
easiest and most reliable way of getting the appropriate amount
(of Vitamin D) is from food and a daily supplement.”

So, you’ve just realized that someone has stolen your identity and is racking up debt left and right, and you want to put a stop to it, but you don’t know what to do. Well, keep reading, because in this article you will learn exactly what to do when you are a victim of identity theft. Once you have absorbed this information, act quickly, because the sooner you start fighting for your identity, the sooner you will win.
You will probably receive a phone call from a creditor stating “you” just either made a large purchase and they suspect fraud or you open your credit card bill as you do every month and be amazed at some extra charges that are on there. Call your credit card company immediately. Rarely, will you be liable for charges over $50, and many credit card companies wave the first $50 in the case of fraud. Check with your bank, you will usually be given a choice to close your account and reopen a new one or some banks will put a “watch” on your account and you will have to log into your account and manually approve every charge and check before it is cleared. This usually goes on for a period of 30-60 days. The latter isn’t the best choice as it is labor intensive to do and your account isn’t protected from fraud as it would be if you simply closed it out and reopened a new account.
After you have done all the initial damage control. The next thing to do when you realize that you are a victim of identity theft is to notify the credit bureaus. Report the situation to the three major credit reporting companies- Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You can do it online or in writing, and you must tell these companies that your identifying information has been stolen and is being used by another person fraudulently in your name. Ask them to flag your file with a fraud alert, and ask that all creditors call you before extending credit in your name. A consumer statement will be put on your file and it will alleviate your fears of bogus accounts being opened for about 3 months.
Due to provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you can only place an initial fraud alert for 90 days. The credit bureaus will then send you a notice displaying your rights as an identity theft victim. As soon you receive this, write to each of the three credit bureaus to request two things; An extension of the fraud alert to seven years, and a free copy of your credit report. Remember to include an identity theft report when you send your letter in order to authorize the seven year alert. Whenever you communicate with the credit companies, you should refer to the number given to your credit report and always use verified return receipt mail. Also, make sure you save all credit reports and related information for your records.
As soon as you get your three credit reports, carefully examine each one. Report all fraudulent and inaccurate information in writing to the credit bureaus, as well as to the credit issuers, following the instructions that are provided with the credit reports. As soon as you notify the credit bureaus about the fraudulent information, the bureau is required to strike that information from future reports. The bureau will also notify the credit grantor of the fraudulent account(s). If it isn’t included in the report, ask the credit bureaus for the contact information of the credit grantors.
Also, tell the credit bureaus in writing that you want them to remove all inquiries that have been created due to fraudulent access. You should also ask the bureaus to contact anyone who has received your credit report in the last six months so they can be informed about the fraudulent and inaccurate information. Numerous inquiries can lower your credit score, so work diligently on getting those inquiries removed from your personal credit report.
Though these measures should set you back on track and protect your credit from the fraudulent information, they may not completely stop it from happening again. Because of this, be sure to monitor your credit reports, there are many online services that will help you monitor your credit report. We recommend Experian Triple Advantage. Along with getting your credit report online with credit score, you also get 30 days free credit monitoring service. With this service you can start the dispute process online! Often times, once you have started the process you will be able to obtain a second free report from the credit bureaus, and in many states you will be able to access your credit report more frequently. If you notice that the fraudulent information is still happening, notify the proper bureaus instantly. If the problem persists for very long, you may want to consider freezing your accounts for awhile if possible to prevent any more damage.
Identity theft is an unfortunate event when it occurs, but you can fight back and get your life back quickly!

I read the other day that the majority of American’s regularly
have sex in just a few positions. Well, if that’s true, its time
to shake things up! This article is on g spot positions.
These are our favorite ways of hitting the g-spot during sex.
If you like boring, normal sex, that lasts just 5 - 10 minutes,
don’t read this page. If you’re feeling more adventurous,
and are ready to blow your mind then please, proceed!
So, the first step in hitting your g spot during sex is to know
where it is! For a refresher course, check out this page on the
g
spot location. You also may want to try a
finding the g spot exercise first.
>From here on, we’re going to assume that you (and your partner)
know where your g-spot is, and how to best stimulate it to give
you pleasure.
Now that that’s all taken care of - lets focus on g spot
positions. The first step is to recognize that the g spot, or g
spot area, is small and not always in the same place. So,
throughout your sex you’ll both need to be communicating. What
works, what feels good, what doesn’t, a little to the right, a
little to the left, etc.
In the beginning, as you explore different g spot positions, its
likely best if you agree not to have orgasms. We’ve found
this makes it easy to have a sense of exploration and play.
And, without further delay, here are our three favorite g spot
positions. Enjoy!
Ride ‘Em Cowboy (Woman on Top)
I have to say there’s something so sexy about a woman being on
top, in charge of finding what feels the best. Really,
this position is ideal because it allows the woman to control
the depth, intensity, and speed. It gives you the ability to
play, and explore, and notice how much more pleasure comes from
subtle differences.
As you are on top, experiment with what feel’s best to you.
Move, shift, tell your partner what feel’s good, rock back and
forth, take it deep, keep it shallow, etc. This will likely work
best if you are already aroused and hot. (This is true with all
these g spot positions)
Now, as the guy in this position, you’re not just laying back
passively (thought that is fine to do - just not now!). What
will help your partner most is if you tilt your pelvis as
much as possible. The more you can do this, the better.
You’ll also get a great workout! : )
Unfortunately, if you are anything like me, you’ll get super
tired super quick. In the beginning we used to use alot of
pillows to try to angle my hips. Lately, we’ve really been
enjoying something called the wedge, its a liberator shape. This
small shape puts your pelvis in the perfect tilted position
without you having to do any work.
I know it sounds crazy, but the small, subtle positioning this
enables, makes all the difference. If you want to find out more
about liberator shapes, their website is www.liberatorshapes.com
.
Doggy Style (Crouching, Man Coming from Behind)
This is one of our favorite g spot positions. Not only do you
have great g-spot access, but there’s just something so
primal andsexy about **! from behind.
Now, guys, in this position you can take it easy and let her do
all the work. In this case, ladies, use your thighs to press
back and find the depth, thrust style, and position that works
best for you.
However, guys, if you want to be more active, you can easily
adapt this position. Push your woman down, and lay more
on top of her (still coming in from behind)
Now, for the best g spot stimulation, position your legs outside
of hers and put more of your weight forward, so you are
riding her from up higher.
This puts your penis on more of a downward angle, and helps you
hit her g-spot more directly. You can also experiment with
having her legs more open, or more closed to see what feels best.
We’ve also been using the liberator shape - the wedge - in this
position too. We found if we put that underneath my girlfriend,
it gives her hips a particular tilt that totally amp things up.
Your Highness (Man Kneeling or Standing, Woman’s Legs on
His Shoulders)
We love this sex position. With many g spot positions you can’t
look each other in the eyes. With this one, we recommend it.
Also, when you want to hit the g spot, having your legs high and
wide is the secret ingredient. Sometimes putting your
feet on your partner’s shoulders can be the most comfortable
(its also just super sexy!)
Now, you can do this position in lots of ways. You can do it off
your sofa, a chair, or your coffee table (we won’t tell!). Or,
you can modify it to work off your bed by kneeling vs standing.
The only real key to this position is that your partner is
angled upward, with her legs spread wide or on your
shoulders. You can achieve this combination in lots of
different ways (be creative!)
Well, these are our three favorite g spot positions, and I hope
you try them out and enjoy!
