Many people have been taught that you cannot get ahead without debt. We are also inundated with advertising telling us we can have anything we want. All we need to do is put it on our credit card.
We have become an impatient society, we want it right now. We have lost the ethic of working for what we want.
It is not how much money you make; it is what you do with it. By living without debt you can actually have a higher income since you are not paying out interest, you are actually getting paid interest on invested money.
All debt is not created equal. We will classify them as good debt and bad debt.
To simplify the classification we will say that good debt is a loan for something that you could sell at any time and repay the debt. This narrows down good debt to a home loan and possibly a home equity loan.
A bad debt, of course, is a loan on anything that will lose value.
Let’s take a look at some debts that we would consider bad debt.
Home equity loans are in the gray area. They could be considered good debt if they are used to repair or improve your home, but you would be a lot better off to just save up the money for the project. Home equity loans become bad debt when used for purposes other than home improvement or maintenance. In other words a bad home equity loan is for anything that does not add to the value of your house. Do not jeopardize your home by taking out a home equity loan on unnecessary items.
One possible good use for a home equity loan is when the interest rates are low. You can use a home equity loan to refinance your mortgage. Home equity loans generally have lower costs than conventional home loans.
We consider school loans bad debt. If you finish school, get a good high paying job and then attack the loan like mad, a school loan may work out. The problem is that there are too many things that can go wrong. At best, even if you do graduate and get a good job there are always a lot of other expenses at this time in ones life. You are really behind financially when you start your working life in debt.
Auto loans are bad loans that have become common practice to us. We pay interest on a vehicle that will only be worth one half of its original purchase price in five years. Lately it has also been common for us to borrow more than a vehicle is worth. We can trade a car in that we still owe on, and roll that owed amount over into another vehicle. This gives us a loan amount that is higher than the value of the car that we drive away. We have lost our capacity to say NO.
Co-signing is a bad debt that usually and unfortunately involves family. If someone cannot qualify for a loan at a regular lending institution, they should not get a loan. The fact that they can’t qualify for a loan elsewhere should tell you that they are a huge risk. Use this opportunity to teach them how they can get what they want by working harder for it and delaying the purchase.
If you want to get off of the debt treadmill, you must run as far away from debt as you can. You cannot use debt to get out of debt. Even if you do, you have not changed your habits; you must change your lifestyle.

Change Your Password Frequently
For maximum security it is advised to change your password
frequently. In today’s online environment, there are plenty of
people that are searching for easy marks to steal data, personal
information, and money from unsuspecting computer users. Anyone
that owns a computer usually has a password of some kind.
Whether it is an email password, Paypal password, or web hosting
password, you should always try to be as secure as possible in
order to protect your information. A big part of security is
creating good passwords and changing them in a timely manner.
Most people who use email and other non critical online
components would usually be OK if they changed their password
once or month or at least quarterly. For people of critical
information and security systems, you should think about
changing your password either daily or weekly depending on the
situation.
When changing your password you should not make it easy for a
person to figure out. You should usually make it over six
characters, 8 being optimal. Your password should contain both
letters and numbers and should not include simple words such as
a password that is “password”. If your system allows case
sensitive passwords then by all means create a password that
some characters are either lower case and some characters are
upper cased. Using these quick tips will make your information
more secure.

It was my hip and trendy cousin Riya, fresh from a throbbing life in Mumbai who came out with a rather opinionated statement–”there’s not much of nightlife in Kolkata”. And there stood I, the sucker for the tastes and essences of Kolkata, glaring at her ignorance of the new avatar it has come up with. “Well”, I grinned, “if City Center, the plush Shoppers’ Stop or Metro Plaza has not taught you what a metamorphosis our city has gone through, you had better jived out at one of our discotheques to eat up what you uttered right now!”
In fact, what we wanted was an out-and-out experiential fun event. And in our quest, we landed up in “Tantra”, the idyllic hotspot of lovers and pals, foot-tapping teenyboppers and lustful party-animals. The electrifying dance floor at Tantra was hot, reflecting enough of style, panache and oomph. My cousin Riya was flattered to see the hippest crowd of Kolkata dance into the wee hours, which, in a way pampered her flamboyant lifestyle. Cherishing the coquetry and live music, I went on tapping my feet at the celebrated hub, the Mecca of the DJs and VJs performing at each weekend. Being in the media, I had already swallowed plenty of juicy scoops of how and why “Tantra” happens to be a plain titillating experience and a provoking “singles’ corner” for umpteen members as well as non-members. Some girls I knew keep harping on how lucky they have been to bump into their “prince charmings” at the dance floors. And there I was, tasting every bit of the bragging clubbing circuit of the City of Joy, wild party animals rocking the disc floors, DJs spinning the turnables, and last, but not the least, hot models creating a stir with their plunging tops tickling male fantasies. All these make for good scoop for the illustrious Page 3’s, huh? And coupled with a glimpse of a hot celeb action, who can say, the next MMS story may originate right over here?
Jokes apart, what I liked in particular that night at Tantra was an amazing ambience to replicate the abundance of fun and frolic existing in Kolkata, the proverbial City of Joy. Besides, there were the custom sound systems tailor-made to suit the required ambience in each area. With a superb dance floor perfect for some wild partying, it was great to see the go-go dancers add color and gaiety to the mélange of green and orange. We had gala time with a classic selection of wine and beer at the Onyx Bar, while I really regretted not being a member of the Bodhi Bar, which frequenters say, is simply exquisite.
All said and done, we witnessed an upsurge of young souls, with a song on their minds, a spring in their steps, while some money was still there in our wallets. Swinging legs until four in the morning, I chuckled while my beautiful cousin ate up her words and acknowledged that this dance club attracts the city’s hippest crowd. “Kolkata has really grown up, you see”, was all I said.

Regular maintenance is the key to keeping your home gutter system intact. Making sure that your gutters have no bent areas is one suggestion made by those who help you prepare your home for sale.Clean and well maintained gutters add to your home’s sale-ability.
Most home improvement experts suggest that you clean your gutters twice yearly. If your gutters are clogged with debris such as leaves and twigs the rain will not run off or drain properly. It’s important to make sure that the rain isn’t spilling over the top of your gutter and onto your foundation. Over time this can cause damage to the home’s foundation.
It is suggested that you clean your gutters in the Fall after all the leaves have fallen from the surrounding trees, and in the Spring. While you’re cleaning your gutters you will want to inspect them for any holes or rust through. Make sure there are no loose nails. Check to make sure the gutters are securely fastened to the house.
After you have removed all the debris from the gutter you’ll want to rinse any remaining debris down the gutter and into the downspout with your garden hose. This will also help you to make sure that your downspout isn’t clogged with debris. If you find the water not running into the downspout you can remove the downspout, clean it and then replace it.
Make sure that the water running out of the downspout is being properly diverted with the use of a plastic or concrete diverter. You don’t want the water emptying out on the ground where it will cause erosion.
Gutter guards have become very popular and do away with the problem of having to clean your gutters, although they will still need twice yearly inspection. For a do-it-yourself type installing gutter guards isn’t a big deal, and, it could save you thousands of dollars over having the gutter guards installed by professionals.
Some people think that gutter guards are very expensive and not worth the money. While gutter guards prevent large leaves from entering the gutter they do not stop much smaller natural debris such as seeds, buds, small pieces of bark and twigs or evergreen needles. All this type of natural matter breaks down over time to form debris in your gutter. Also, debris can build up over the gutter guard screening that will have to be manually cleaned off. Some have found that gutter guards actually cause them more problems.

Always having been a budget conscious person (well, some have called me a tight-wad), I know all about the simple pleasures. Sure it would be great to take long cruises, go to any event I wanted, buy anything I wanted — WAKE UP! Unless you are a multi millionaire you can’t do all that It definitely doesn’t fit in my budget. Instead of being negative because you are “deprived”, think of what you can do.
Take a walk on a bright, sunny day. Notice the flowers. Notice the trees. Don’t just notice the other walkers. SMILE and say “hi” to them. Enjoy the benefits of exercise. You will feel better. It will help you get in better shape. Get out there and move. And, guess what, it doesn’t cost anything. It is absolutely FREE.
Here is another very rewarding thing to do. Volunteer at a child’s school. Offer to tutor a neighborhood child. There is nothing like the pleasure that comes from teaching a child. Other places to help out kids are: Boys and Girls Club, any programs for troubled youth, any youth recreational leagues. If you have a special talent (art, singing, writing) ask at the local middle and high school if there is any way you can help. Help the kids. Doesn’t cost you anything, but how rewarding it is!
At the other end of the age range are senior citizens. Many can certainly benefit from more attention. Many assisted living facilities will allow volunteers to come in. You don’t need any special abilities….except the ability to listen. Having someone to talk to can be the highlight of their day.
I hope this short article will make you stop and think. Don’t be negative because you cannot have all the things you want. Enjoy life! Share with Others. Help Others. You will be rewarded.

If you’re a business owner, you know that repeat business
is critical to your success. It also makes your life much
easier because you can count on ongoing business without
having to continuously find new prospects and convince them
to hire you.
Here are seven ways to keep your customers coming back:
1. Take time to build a relationship
Learn to “visit” instead of being so professional that you
appear rude. Pay attention when you meet with your
customers. Learn about them and their lives. Notice what they hang on their walls and place on their desks. And don’t just notice, comment on them. For instance, if your prospect or customer has a huge marlin hanging on his wall, you could say, “I’ll bet there’s an interesting story that goes with that fish.” Your client will be thrilled to tell you about it, and he’ll be flattered that you asked. And it would be like ignoring the elephant in the room if you DIDN’T comment on it. Learning about your customer will pay off every day of your relationship.
2. Set realistic deadlines and either meet or beat them.
Nothing impresses a client more than when you follow through
with what you say you will do. Do it fast. Do your best. And
do it right. Clients always want it “yesterday,” but if you
know it can’t be done that quickly, or it won’t be done
correctly because there’s not enough time, then speak up
right at the beginning. It’s better to set a realistic
deadline and then beat it by a day or two, than accept an
unrealistic one and make the client wait.
3. Make it easy to work with you.
Extend your service hours to cover when your customers want
to talk to you. If your business is tech support or Internet
marketing, remember that peak Net usage is 10 pm. If you’re
a night person, you can impress your customers by being
available during their “off” hours.
4. Offer credit card payment options to make it easy for
your clients (and the government!) to pay you.
Today, businesses need payment options. If you’re able to
allow them to pay with credit cards, you’ll have more
clients. And if you’re interested in government business,
this is an easy way to get some of it since most government
agencies are now using credit cards for purchases valued at
less than $2,500.
5. Be flexible–offer to meet for breakfast.
Just like you, your clients are very busy. They have
meetings all day and often during lunch, so it’s hard to
find a time to get together. Offer to meet for breakfast
when you and your client are both fresh, or meet after normal work hours to accommodate their schedule.
6. Provide added-value service at no charge.
Give them something they aren’t expecting. If you go the extra mile, your customers will notice. You’ll soon be the one they turn to when they need a problem solved. It works when your vendors do it for you, doesn’t it? It sure does for me! For example, I recently began doing informational teleseminars with industry experts, and I not only needed a bridge line to do them, but I also needed someone to record the seminars for me so I’d have a good finished product to sell through my website. I got one-stop-shopping with Dan Janal at Great Teleseminars, which was perfect. And, when he confirmed the information, he sent me a free copy of two of his ebooks to teach me how to do a good teleseminar! Now that’s added value.
7. Refer business to your customers.
If you send business to your customers, it shows how much
value them. Connect one customer with another, if possible.
It’s the ultimate thank you.

Football crazy a meaning of many meanings, number one is either crazy over the game or secondly going crazy for every time the word football is mentioned. When you have two sons cheering on their favourite teams i.e. Liverpool and Manchester United under the same roof it is hard to ignore. Ignorance on my part on the game has left me with a feeling of emptiness.
The times I screamed at the top of my voice to turn the television off, grown men kicking a ball into a net what next toddlers playing rugby.
Not sure of the trophy at stake for the big match playing on the screen but the cheers could be heard all over for every time goals were scored. The adrenalin rush became unbearable for me at times sending shivers down the spine with all the near misses of penalty shoot outs.
It all fell into place and made sense as to why football was so popular after the lads had explained the ins and outs of the game.
Over the years there has been sadness where fans have lost their lives due to unfortunate events at football matches. Then we have the violence where an innocent victim was on the receiving end of an unprovoked attack all because they batted for the other side.
Football is a game of skill where players battle it out on the pitch scoring goals for their town or country. So I say to the football hooligan leave the dedicated fan to cheer their team on in peace and let the battle with a reason behind it continue on the pitch. .
I still struggle to understand this off side ruling where one player has to be in front of the other before a pass. Without doubt this is a game of skill where physical fitness and endurance prevails but it seems that skills are also required in the mastermind department. For e g the football player takes control of the ball while under attack then on top of having to retain possession he has to seek out another player to pass the ball to in hope that he is not offside.
My rendition on this may be a little offside with my explanation of what I think this ruling means, maybe this is why I can not quite get my head round it.
Regardless of the rulings and referee decisions I will continue to support this very entertaining sport. I have regrets in my ignorant years where I missed out on the pleasurable moments as in i.e. sitting in the armchair fully adorned in woollen hat scarf and rattle. To think I used to scream to turn the television off when there was match on only to find myself screaming to turn it on.
I support no particular team, my attitude is may the best team win on the day but should Steven Gerrad bless us with his presence on the pitch then I say he can rattle my rattle any day.
My life has changed dramatically since I was first introduced to football, my sons lives have been turned upside down because I get to sit up front which entitles me to possession of the remote control when the match is in play.
To become a proffessionl footballer you need skills just like any other dream you are persuing. By futhering your education to climb the ladder of success then take a look at this site for amazing results http://www.allaboutonlineeducation.com

Ebooks are part of the new frontier of cyberspace.
They are an entirely new medium for sharing marketing
information, ideas, techniques, and expert knowledge.
Each day the number of people accessing the Internet grows,
causing the exposure of your ebook to increase incrementally.
It’s obvious why electronic self-publishing has become so
popular so quickly.
The publishing industry, I hope, does not intend to forever
banish the printed word to the dustbin of history. Books in
print have their own special qualities and merits, and the world
would be diminished by their disappearance.
Having said that, let’s look at what makes ebooks so important
and so unique. Ebooks have certain abilities and qualities that
other mediums do not possess.
For example, ebooks are fairly easy to produce, and their
production cost is inexpensive. Just think about it: you don’t
need a publisher, an agent, a printing press, offset film, ink,
paper, or even a distributor.
You just need a great concept, the ability to write it or to
hire a writer, and the right software.
Additionally, ebooks are easily and rapidly distributed online.
They are also easily updated; they do not require a second print
run. All you need is to go into your original creation and
modify the text or graphics. Because of this flexibility, ebooks
can change and grow as fast as you can type.
Ebooks are also immediately obtainable. You don’t have to go to
a bookstore or search through endless titles at an online
bookstore. All you have to do is download it from a website, and
presto! It’s on your computer, ready to be read.
Ebooks are interactive. This is one of the most unique and
specific qualities that ebooks offer. You can add surveys that
need to be filled out, order forms for customers to purchase
your products or goods, sound and video that draw your reader
into the virtual world of your ebook, even direct links to
relevant sites that will expand your ebook outward. The
potential is virtually limitless.
Ebooks have a particular kind of permanence that other mediums
do not possess. Television shows and radio shows air once, and
then may rerun a few times. Ebooks remain on your computer for
as long as your choose, and they can be read and reread whenever
you choose to. They can even be printed out and stored on the
shelves of your traditional home library.
Another wonderful quality is that ebooks have no barriers in
terms of publishing. You don’t need to go through the endless
process of submitting your manuscript over and over again, and
then once you land an agent, having the agent submit your
manuscript over and over again. Nor do you have to shell out
thousands of dollars for printing a self-published book. All
ebooks require is a writer and appropriate software.
Figure out your market, write your book, post it on your
website, and with the right business savvy, your audience will
come to you.
Finally, you have creative control over your ebook. You don’t
have to compromise with an editor or the publishing trends of
the time. You don’t have to haggle with a designer or wait for
copyedited galleys to arrive by snail mail. You are in complete
control of the design and the text.
How to Use ebooks for Marketing and Promotion
There are innumerable ways to use ebooks to promote your
business and drive quality traffic to your website. Once posted
on your site, you can turn them into a daily course, which
brings your customer back to read the next chapter. You can use
them as a free gift for making a purchase or for filling out a
survey. Put your ebook on a disc, and you will have an
innovative brochure. Blow your competition away by inserting the
disc into your sales packages.
The most effective marketing products are those that are unique.
Copyright your ebook, and immediately, you have a powerful tool
that you, and you alone, can offer to the public. People will
have to visit your site to acquire your ebook, which increases
the flow of quality traffic and the potential of sales and
affiliate contacts.
Make sure that you keep your ebook current. Update it frequently
as the market and trends change. Add new advice and techniques
to show your prospects how your goods or services can enrich
their lives. By constantly keeping abreast of new trends and
techniques, you can continue to see profits from your ebook for
years after your original creation.
Another phenomenal advantage of ebooks is that you can test
their marketing potential without putting out hardly any cash at
all. You can even produce an ebook one copy at a time, each time
you receive an order, eliminating the need for storage and
inventory. By this method, you can gauge the saleablity of your
ebook, and make adjustments as necessary until the orders start
pouring in.
Ebooks allow you to learn about your market and customer habits
and motivation over a period of time, without risking your
precious financial resources. They also provide you with an
invaluable way to gather marketing information, which you can
use in many different facets of your business.
Use your ebook to discover what the specific goals and problems
are in your specific industry. Then figure out how to solve
these problems, and publish an ebook with this invaluable
information. This will increase the value of your business,
upgrade your reputation, and get you known as an expert in your
field.
You can extend the value of single ebook by breaking the book
down into chapters for a serial course, into special reports
available on your website, or into audio or visual tapes. Ebooks
can be broken down into several different promotional materials
by excepting some of the articles and using them to promote your
product.
You can include a catalog in your ebook to promote all the
products or services you sell. You can include a thank-you note
for reading your book and an invitation to download a trial
version of your product.
Or you can include a form for your audience to contact you for
further information or with questions, thereby building your
business relationships and your mailing list.
Using ebooks in this manner helps to cut the cost of
individually producing separate promotional materials. You can
use a single ebook to entice new prospects and to sell new
products to your current customers.
No other medium has this kind of flexibility and ability for
expansion. Think of your ebook like a spider spinning a
beautiful and intricate web. Now go and create that web, and see
how many customers and prospects you can catch!

The Shawshank Redemption is consistently voted as one of the best movies of all time. Originally a story in a Stephen King book, the Different Seasons, known as Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, the story was adapted and the movie created. The movie was directed and the screenplay written by Frank Darabont. The movie was his first major production.Interestingly Stephen King has written two stories about prisons, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, which happen to be the first two movies that Frank Darabont directed.
The story is a cruel one, in which Andy Dufresne, an educated and kind man is wrongly convicted of his wife’s murder.During his time in prison he befriends several people, who are criminals, whereas Andy is not.His life is changed forever, as he deals with the troubles of incarceration.
Stephen King’s excellent character portrayal is not limited to his horror stories, and the characters in this story are some of his best. One could even believe this was based on a true story, but it is not, King has confirmed. The story is upsetting, puzzling and warming, and the movies popularity confirms people association with the story.I think it will always be a classic.
When released at the theatre The Shawshank Redemption did not achieve great success, despite the great buzz already generated by the Hollywood industry due to the great story. This was in part due to great competition at the time, and also the fact that the story is about a prison, which put many movie goers off. However, after the release to DVD the Shawshank Redemption sold in huge quantities making it a firm favorite.
The other stories from the Different Seasons book are
The Body - which became the movie, Stand by me
The Apt Pupil - which also became a movie called The Apt Pupil
The Club - which has yet to make it to the big screen
I would recommend the book to anyone who is a fan, as it is a great collection of stories. The Shawshank Redemption is a very popular story, whether read in a book or watched as a film.

Darren Lambert is a big fan of the Shawshank Redemption movie, as well as other Stephen King stories.
