You can expect to receive a high income as a diesel mechanic or service technician. The majority of jobs in the U.S. are located in densely populated cities which trucking companies, bus lines, and other fleet owners have large operations in place, although positions are available in all areas of the U.S. These companies work closely with the school to place graduates in the job trade.
Diesel Mechanic students are able to learn online while continuing to work at their jobs.
An online Diesel Mechanic School will certify you to work on large equipment vehicles, buses, and trucks, in a well-paid profession. You will learn how to fix diesel fuel and ignition systems as well as automotive engines through a distance-learning program. Diesel Mechanic students can expect their curriculum to contain coursework in hydromechanical diesel fuel injection, truck/bus system computerization, emissions, powertrains, brake/transmission systems, and much more.
Each school is different and the length of degrees can vary, but for the most part you can expect to attend school anywhere from half a year upwards to two years. Those that complete the programs are rewarded with certificates, diplomas or degrees as Diesel Mechanics, Diesel Service Technicians, Diesel Truck Service Technicians or Auto-Diesel Mechanic. Certified Diesel Mechanics have the qualifications necessary to apply for employment at automotive repair shops. And a Diesel Mechanic can gain the skills and the confidence they need to start their own business with only a few additional years of hands-on experience!

Auto entry tools and lockout tools are widely available through
a variety of manufacturers for the security professional and the
locksmith that specializes in lockouts.
Opening Locked Cars - Auto opening can be a lucrative part of
any locksmithing business. For some, it’s the only source of
income. Lockout specialists can command anywhere from $30 - 90
per hour!
Bill Phillips, author of LOCKSMITHING explains vehicle opening
in detail. “In order to understand how to open a locked vehicle,
you need to understand how vehicle locks work. In most cases, a
locked vehicle can be opened by lifting up or pushing down on
the lock pawl, pulling the lock rod up, puching the lock rod
forward, lifting the lock rod button, or by picking the lock.
The lock pawl can generally be manipulated with an L-shaped
tool. Doors with vertical lock rods can usually be opened by
using a tool to hook the lock rod and pull it up.
Doors with horizontal lock rods can usually be opened by using a
tool to hook the rod and pulling it forward.”
Naturally, a security professional or a locksmith will use auto
opening tools that are not available in the local hardware store
to do the job right.
There are a lot of manuals available on the subject of
automobile opening. Some of the publishers also sell lockout
tools and kits. The manuals are full of invaluable information
for the lockout specialist or security professional and the lock
opening information is updated regularly to keep up with all the
new models of cars coming onto the market.
Typical multi-tool auto opening kits will contain several L
tools of different sizes, several different sizes of tools for
lifting a lock button rod and generally a wedge of two. ProLok
makes some excellent auto opening (lockout) kits.

A lot of people know about using a slim jim as they are often
sold in auto supply stores. It wasn’t that long ago that almost
any locked vehicle could be opened by inserting a flat piece of
metal into the door between the car window and the weather
stripping, then moving it up and down and left to right until it
caught something that unlocked the door. Times (and automobile
locks) have changed considerably. Automobile manufacturers are
making cars much more difficult to open. Manufacturers are
building lock systems with more anti-jimmy components. The flat
piece of metal isn’t nearly as effective as it used to be…nor
is the wire hanger we’ve all used at one time or another to try
to pop the lock. Our advice? Don’t try to get into a locked
vehicle without the key unless you’re a pro. You can do some
real damage to your car and destroy the weather stripping…at
the very least. Using a slim jim, homemade or otherwise can
severely damage a car’s locking system that may prevent the
operation of the car door locks with the key. Learning to use
the newest auto entry tools, or paying a pro to do the job will
save you and your family a lot of headaches.

If you are moving across the country or just across town, using
a truck rental may be an option that you have looked in to.
Renting a truck to move with can solve so many problems before
they even occur, weather and theft are just two of the pitfalls
of moving. However, there are a few things to consider before
you visit the rental company.
1- First and foremost, you need to figure out how much space you
will need. A loose general rule is that a typical room of
household furnishings will require approximately five feet of
cargo space inside the truck. Your personal needs will vary
depending on how much stuff you actually own, as compared to the
normal household.
2- Once you know the approximate size of the truck you will
need, you can then start to call rental companies to inquire
about the sizes they have available for you. Some of the most
common sizes that may need to be reserved early are the cargo
van and the small cargo trucks.
3- When you are ready to reserve the truck, it is best to avoid
the busy times, thus allowing yourself the widest range of
vehicles and options to choose from. Try to avoid the end and
the beginning of a month, most leases end and start at these
times; avoiding them will help ensure that the vehicle you want
will be there for you.
4- Check your personal insurance policy to ensure that you will
be covered for a truck rental; many auto policies do not include
this. If yours excludes this type of rental, it is a wise idea
to accept the insurance that is offered by the rental company.
5- Finally, before you pull out of the parking lot after
renting the truck, ask if there are directions available for the
use of the vehicle. If there are, be sure to read them. If
possible, try to get someone from the rental company to
personally show you anything that you will need to know to
complete your trip safely.

When you are having your valued items shipped, it is important
to find the best hauler for job, not necessarily the cheapest.
Customer service, reliability, and trustworthiness are all
important factors in choosing a transport company. An
unscrupulous trucker can cost you money, damage your property,
and cause you a hard time.
Recommended Steps to take before hiring a transport company:
- Ask Questions - When you first contact a hauler, you should
ask as many relevant questions as you can regarding the care
they will take with your property, scheduling, contract issues,
what type of equipment they have, licensing, insurance, and take
some time to get a feel for the type of people you are dealing
with. The vast majority of truckers / haulers are reputable
business people that simply want to help you, the best way to
weed out the few that aren’t is in this first stage. - Get
References - Most haulers should be prepared to provide you with
several references in regards to RECENT jobs they have done. If
time allows try to contact every reference and ask questions
regarding the type of service they received from their hauler.
Remember, that no one is perfect all of the time, so if there
are any less than perfect reviews, follow up with a question to
see how the hauler resolved the issue.
Sample questions to ask provided references: - What did you have
__(company name)___ haul? - When did they haul it? - Did they
keep you well informed of their pickup / delivery schedule? -
How well did they keep their original promised schedule? - Did
they take good care of your (car, boat, horse, furniture,
etc..)? - If any problems occurred, how did the hauler resolve
them? - How would you rate your overall experience with this
hauler? - Would your recommend this hauler to others?
Use the above questions in an e-mail or as a template for a
phone conversation with the provided references, and you will
have a very good idea of what to expect when you use the hauler
yourself.
- Check Licensing - Your hauler should be able to provide you
with his DOT number, and MC, Number. You can check the validity
of their DOT number at the FMCA website:
http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_carrquery.prc_carrlist
- A DOT license lets you know that the hauler has filed the
proper paperwork and pays the proper taxes and fees when hauling
your items.
- Check Insurance - It’s important for you to know that your
carrier has adequate insurance to cover potential damage to your
property. If you choose an uninsured or underinsured transport
company you risk not being compensated for loss or damage of
your (car, boat, horse, furniture, etc..).
- Check FindAHauler Profile - If your hauler has a profile in
the FindAHauler.com Directory: http://FindAHauler.com/directory/
you can view any feedback left regarding the hauler by other
visitors to the site.
- Read contracts carefully - Many haulers will have you execute
a transport contract prior to hauling your (car, boat, horse,
furniture, etc..). Make sure that you read the contract and
understand the provisions of the contract. If there is a down
payment required, make sure you know the conditions under which
it will or won’t be refunded. Is the down payment due prior to
the pickup of your property, when is the full payment due?. It
is generally not advisable to pay a down payment prior to pickup
of your property. If it is practical, you may want to negotiate
the full payment upon delivery of your property.
If you follow the above advice, you should have an easy and
stress free experience having your car, boat, horse, furniture,
etc… transported. Thousands of people have had their cars,
horse, boats, trailers, livestock, etc… shipped using
FindAHauler.com since September of 2002, and it is very rare for
any of them to have a problem with a hauler they have found
using our site. We have a very aggressive stance on any users of
our site not operating in an ethical and straightforward manner,
and do our best to provide an easy and safe environment for all.

Catalytic converters, the longtime companion of Chrysler
vehicles in trimming down their carbon monoxide emissions, have
been getting a lot of buzz this week. News about catalytic
converters giving off toxic metals must have been the reason for
all of this noise. Add to that the heightened alarm brought by
news about carbon monoxide poisoning. Because of these recent
events, we have found it necessary to review once again the role
that Chrysler catalytic converters play for Chrysler vehicles.
Catalytic
converters are emissions-control products designed to
reduce or to clean up the harmful exhaust emissions in
gasoline-powered vehicles. Since 1975, most new gasoline-powered
vehicles, including Chrysler petrol-powered vehicles, have been
equipped with catalytic converters. So far, the invention has
been functioning well. In fact, a majority of the catalytic
converters installed in vehicles today can efficiently reduce
vehicle carbon monoxide emissions by as much as 80 percent.
There are many types of catalytic converters. Among those that
can be seen often in Chrysler vehicles is the three-way
catalytic converter. Three-way catalytic converters got their
name from the fact that they are designed to reduce three types
of harmful engine emissions–carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and
nitrogen oxide. Because of this, the structure of these
converters are quite complex although easy to understand.
Three-way catalytic converters are made up of two catalysts: the
oxidation catalyst and the reduction catalyst. The reduction
catalyst is usually made from platinum and rhodium and its main
function is to convert nitrogen oxide emissions into less
harmful products like nitrogen and oxygen. The oxidation
catalyst, on the other hand, is made up of platinum and
palladium. This catalyst is responsible for converting carbon
monoxide and the other hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide. With
both the oxidation and the reduction catalysts present in a
single emissions-control product, three-way catalytic converters
can efficiently filter out the engine’s exhausts and convert
them to less harmful substances.
Because of their importance in controlling emission levels in
vehicles, Chrysler
catalytic converters have long been used as standard
components for Chrysler vehicles. Aside from these original
components, there are also aftermarket Chrysler catalytic
converters that may be used as replacements to the original
equipment.
Among those companies that continuously provide Chrysler owners
with solutions for all of their Chrysler catalytic converter
needs is Auto Parts Wholesale. Auto Parts Wholesale is a major online auto
parts supplier of high quality and high performance Chrysler
catalytic converters. The online company also offers a lot of
other Chrysler parts and
accessories, including Chrysler electrical parts, engine parts,
exhaust parts and others.
But as news about catalytic converters giving off toxic metals
continues to circulate, the company is bracing itself for a
reduction in catalytic converter demand. This should not happen
though because catalytic converters remain to be the most
dependable product for carbon monoxide emission reduction.
Further, advance studies are yet to be released about the toxic
metal findings in catalytic converters.

Almost every financial organization has a workout department. Their names are as varied as Problem Loan Administration; Central Loan Department; or Special Assets Department. A dealer may be assigned to one of these special departments, or a member of the department may start appearing at meeting with the dealer’s regular bank officer.
The courts have consistently upheld the rights of lenders to have workout teams and to have those teams, within broad parameters, take affirmative actions to protect the lenders’ interests.
Matching the average dealer’s experience with work-outs, to that of the lender’s experience, would be equivalent to matching a high school football team against a professional team. The professionals have played the game hundreds of times. They have seen and heard hundreds of presentations, arguments, excuses and reasons for a dealership’s problems, while the dealer, lacking experience, is encountering the trauma for the first time. Realizing the dealer will probably be a neophyte, with respect to workouts, the following rules are provided the dealer, as a plumb line, to be followed throughout the workout procedure:
1. Do Not Confuse Friendship with Business. Factories and lenders have seen and heard most of the workout plans any dealer could suggest. The have probably seen versions of each plan which have been refined over generations by some of the best minds in the business. Their experience, however, cannot help the dealer get the best benefits for the dealer.
Employees of the factory/lender have an obligation to their corporation and in turn to its shareholders, to get the best contract for their corporation. There is nothing wrong with that; they have a legal duty to their shareholders and creditors to protect them, not you.
They will, however, indicate whether or not you workout plan is “acceptable” or “unacceptable” to them.
If the proposed plan is “unacceptable”, one of two things can happen. The dealer can keep proposing plans, until one is accepted, or the factory/lender might suggest an acceptable alternative.
If the factory/lender suggests a plan acceptable to them, it means just that: the workout plan is acceptable to the factory/lender. It does not mean, and should not mean, the factory/lender will not approve some other plan, which may be more beneficial to the dealer, if the dealer knows what to request and how to structure it.
2. Do Not Confuse Optimism with Confidence. Optimism means expecting a plan will work. Confidence means knowing what to do if it does not. Never act without confidence.
3. Do Not Value a Dealership by the “SOT + Assets” Formula. The odds against that plan working are about the same as the odds against winning the lottery, except the ante is higher.
4. Do Not Say “SOT”. Sometimes a dealer talks in terms of SOT (Sold Out of Trust) or OT (Out of Trust) with the factory or lender, when the dealer actually has SAU (Sold and Unpaid) units. Once the dealer refers to an out of trust situation, it puts the factory/lender in a precarious position. All sorts of rules then come into play, both legal rules and company rules, which would not have had to take effect if the dealer used the phrase SAU. The factory/lender can’t read minds to know the dealer really meant SAU, instead of SOT. From the moment the phrase SOT is used, the only thing the listener knows for certain is, if there is a law suit and the listener were asked if the dealer said he or she were SOT on such and such a date, the listener would have to answer “yes.” Don’t put them in that position.
5. Do Not Lie. Don’t lie to yourself; don’t lie to the factory; don’t lie to the lender.
Dealers, who lie to themselves about their problems, how they got there, or their ability to solve them, base their entire solution upon a lie and, without exception, compound and complicate the original problems.
A lie to the factory/lender will alienate the only entities which have both the ability to help and the most to gain, besides the dealer and the dealer’s family, in finding a workable solution. When in doubt, remember what Mark Twain said: “I never got hurt by anything I didn’t say.” He also said that when he was ninety, he recollected he had worried about a lot of things in life, most of which never happened.
6. Do Not Panic. There are many challenges in business, and being short of cash is but one of them. Numerous dealers have been there before and numerous dealers have survived.
Analyze the problem as if it were someone else’s problem, and compose a short letter as if you were giving advice to another dealer. The advice should be to get professional help. A storm at sea, calls for seasoned sailors. No one would want a crew with little experience in storms, unfamiliar with navigation, no charts, no radar and no one to call upon for advice. A dealer with a SOT problem is in a big storm, except it won’t go away with time. Without help, the dealer’s family, friends and employees will all be affected. The dealer has to make tough decisions, or time will make themand the dealer will not like the decisions time makes.
At the time the lender has the second meeting, referred to above, wherein the lender wants the dealer to sign the work-out agreement, the dealer should be prepared to structuring of the work-out plan, the handling of a keeper, the method of repayment and such.
As soon as you know you are OT, your first call should be to us (or someone as experienced as us) and your second call (after visiting with us, your attorney and accountant) should be to the credit company. Telling the credit company you have sold and unpaid units before they tell you, is vital to establishing a foundation upon which to build a work-out plan. At the same time, Automotive Advisors’ experience is vital to the dealer and the dealer’s attorney and accountant, in providing constructive suggestions and in planning and recognizing realistic options.

I hear excuses all the time about why more people don’t restore their cars, I can’t afford it, it’s not practical, it’s just a car, but no I won’t sell it, I’d rather see it rotting in the back yard, or sent to the car crusher.
It’s better if nobody has it, if I can’t, I don’t want to see a person get who would actually care about it own it, or the most common one, nobody wants that old piece of junk any way, I’ve had it for years, and I don’t want it.
Believe me somebody is looking for just the car that you have to sell, it’s just a matter of putting you and them together, I realize that can be a hard thing to do, but do you remember how excited you were when you first got your car, it can do the same thing for another person to.
I look for people to buy cars from all the time, so I research the cars that are on the market, and the places where I can find them, and believe me, I’m not the only person who does this sort of thing.
A little later in the article I will tell you about some of these places that I have found to help you sell your car, or to buy one of course, but for now I will keep harping on the fact that you should not just let your old classic car rot away.
The first point is fairly obvious, they don’t build them anymore, and it’s getting hard to find one that’s in good shape, people are always looking for the classic American cars, and as long as their still around, people will always want them.
The second point is this, if these cars just disappear, we lose out on all the class and style that they have, every one of the old cars has it’s own look, and it’s own style, unlike the new cars, that all just seem to look alike.
Here’s point three, what if we wake up one day, and all the classic cars are just gone, like the dinosaurs that once roamed the earth, this can’t be allowed to happen, what a boring life that would be, if every car looks like the imports do.
All I can say is yuk, don’t let it happen, if you have a classic car and you don’t want to restore, then please sell it, but think about this, don’t look at it as your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, think about what you have, and the condition that it in, and please sell accordingly, most classic car buyers aren’t idiots, and you can’t slip one by them.
So do your research before you sell the car, and sell without trying to rip somebody off on it, you do yourself a favor by being honest, and you do them a favor by selling them just the car that they want.
Now about those places to buy or sell your car, first check this out Online Classic Car Sales .
And take a look at these places on the net, and this is just a few of the one that are available. Muscle cars for sale
