Is your new site sitting in the infamous Google “sandbox”? There is a way to get it out fast, as well as getting all of your other pages indexed!
How?
Write an article on your site topic and upload it to your website. You can either put it on your index page, or place a snippet of the content with a link to your new article on your index page. Then - submit your article to all the free article directories you can find. It doesn’t even have to be a long article - just as long as it offers value to the reader.
Submitting your article to the free article directories also means that you get instant valuable back links to your site which is vital if you want to rank well in Google.
How do I know whether my site is in the Sandbox?
If your site is in the sandbox, if you do a search for http://www.yoursite.com in Google, you will probably just see this kind of information displayed on the results page:
http://www.yoursite.com
If your site is indexed in Google, the results page will look like this:
http://www.yoursite.com
Your site description and what your site is about will appear here.
Google can show you the following information for this URL:
Find web pages that are similar to www.youresite.com
Find web pages that link to www.youresite.com
Find web pages from the site www.youresite.com
Find web pages that contain the term www.youresite.com
You can also do a check at http://www.uptimebot.com to see how many of your pages are indexed by the search engines.
Proof that this method works?
I recently registered two new websites and linked to them from one of my sites that have PR. Doing a search for them showed that both of them just showed up as http://www.mysites.com which means that they were not indexed yet. Checking on Uptimebot it showed that Google had one link for each of them, but no additional pages.
After writing an article related to the one site, I uploaded it to my site and submitted it to the various article directories. The next day’s search showed that my site was in the Google Index because it was showing the additional information about my site, and a check on Uptimebot revealed that I now had all of my pages (20) indexed in Google.
Now that I know this method works, I will be doing it for my other sites as well. Don’t you think you too should get writing?

Ever wondered how one search engine is dominating the entire web. In any business, you have so much stiff competition. Is there any business that you can start that has no competition ? Whether you decide to open a restaurant or a real estate company - you are going to have a lot of competition. And picture the competition that you will have - you will have 100’s or probably 1000 other people doing the same business. But in search engine competition, you can probably count in your fingers as to how many search engines there are. But still people are hesitant to go into this field.
Ever wondered what is the market of having your own Search Engine. As of today, this is a multibillion dollar industry and it is being dominated by one search engine. Imagine ten years down the road - when everything is moving towards the internet - what huge advantage it would be to have a search engine. Why do you think, companies like Microsoft are jumping into this market.
In order to break the monopoly of one search engine, Objects Search has introduced a concept of topic search engines. They believe that if there is a search engine on a specific topic - people looking for information on that topic would prefer going to that topic search engine rather than going to a general search engine like Google. For instance- say if there is a search engine exclusively for music. If a person wants to search something on music, would he prefer going to a specific music search engine or google.
Objects Search hosted solution allows you to run your own search engine. You can have your own special search engine such as travel, games, animals, medical, software, sports, music, cars or any other category you like. They create and host custom search engine for you by indexing only those sites which meets your selected category. You can also select to index the whole web instead of some specific category.
It is a very bold concept. Right now people are very hesitant to step into this field. They think it is not possible to compete with giants like Google or Yahoo. Well look at it this way, even if you dont compete with google and yahoo, but just by being in that industry - you wud end up getting a small piece of the multibillion dollar industry pie which would amount to a lot.

Yesterday you should have read the third course out of 6 courses that will help you get a TOP rank in the search engines and get EXPLOSIVE LASER TARGETED TRAFFIC for Free. Today we move on to course #4 and study off-page Optimization. Please read today’s course very carefully and take some time to test what I’m about to tell you on your own webpage. Alright let’s start!
Off-page Optimization
Unfortunately optimizing your WebPages is not enough; the search engines have developed a “system” where the ranking of a website is determined by its “Link Popularity”. This system was first developed by Google and now many other search engines like yahoo search and msn are doing the same. So to get a top page ranking you must get as many websites linking to you as possible. Before I tell you how to increase your link popularity I have to tell you about the other major factors in off-page optimization.
1) Anchor Text: This is the text that is hyperlinked to send people to your website. Anchor text MUST contain a few of your main keywords because google uses it to determine your websites relevance to a particular topic.
2) The website that links to you: If the website that links to you is related to your site then that’s a huge bonus to you. So look for websites that are related to your website’s topic.
You now know that it’s vital that you use an anchor text that includes your main keywords. For example if you remember from day2, the title that I chose was “Yo Mama Joke | Blonde Joke Online”. Now a good anchor text that can include my main keywords would be that title! You also should know that in order to get a good ranking you must seek out websites that are closely related to your own website and get them to link to you.
To get your website on “its feet” you can start by submitting your website to popular directories. These directories are free but you can always pay for a guaranteed placement ($$). Now I have here some links that should be more than enough to get you started.
http://info.vilesilencer.com/main.php?rock=seo-friendly.php
This website has links to hundreds of Search engine friendly free directories that you can add you link to. Beside each directory you can see the PR, this is very useful.
http://www.dmoz.org/ (PR 9!) YOU MUST submit your site to the Open Directory Project.
http://www.zeal.com (PR 8!) YOU MUST submit your site to Zeal, by being in their directory you will be indexed by LookSmart.
Now the next step is to look for link partners. I can’t stress this enough, you have to find partners with websites related to your own website. What I have here are four link-exchange directories that you can sign up to and start exchanging links with people. These are great and will get you hundreds of sites that may link to you. I suggest you install a link directory script on your website and add all the websites that you want to exchange links with. After adding their link just send them an email and approach them professionally. You can use an email like this:
————————————-
Hello my name is Ahmed Omran. I am seeking out possible link partners that our visitors would be interesting in visiting. I’ve found your website to be a very good fit for our visitors. I have already gone ahead and added your link to our links page at: http://youdomain.com/links

Getting your website up and running is hard enough. After spending hours getting the HTML code just right and trying to make sure that you provide a great user experience, the last thing you want to do is change everything around in order to get your site ranked higher on the search engines. Follow these tips from the beginning and you’ll see the benefits.
1) Not changing the title tag from page to page. A lot of people realize the importance of the title tag. But few sites change the title tag from page to page. If you have a large site with a lot of different pages targeting different keywords, then change the title tag to reflect the keywords of the particular page. Keeping the title tag the same throughout the site may optimize the site as a whole, but you are limiting the amount of search terms that you can use. The shorter the title the better, you don’t want to get caught stuffing the title tag with too many terms. Just change it from page to page.
2) Not using a H1 tag. Use a H1 tag. Really. No, it’s no 1996, but search engine bots love the H1 tag. They view it as “hey, this is so important, it’s in the H1 tag.” Everybody got carried away with putting neat graphics and flash on their site and have neglected this tag. In fact a lot of sites use a graphical banner where their H1 should be. While these certainly look good, search engine bots can’t read graphics, they are just bots. Use the H1 tag and use your keywords in it. It will help the visiting Search Engine bot determine what your site or page is about.
3) Using “Home” as a link text. Everyone uses “home” as the text to link back to their index page. However, this might not be the best choice. After all, it is a link. We all know how important links are in search engine rankings. When you use the word “home”, the search engine bot will chalk up another point to “home” for your site. Why not use a keyword as this text? If your site is about hubcaps…why not use “hubcaps” for the link text? This will help you in that it a)adds a link within your site using “hubcaps” and b) help the search engine bot figure out a little better what your site has to offer.

Search engines index millions of web sites to generate the search results they return for key words. They do this using “spiders”.
Most search engines have their own spider that crawls around the web looking for web pages. Spiders are also known as “robots” because they are simply tiny little programs that run automatically, looking for web pages and recursively traveling through the embedded text links to index them.
Most robots look for a robots.txt file in the top-level directory of your web site, also known as the “root” where your home page is located on the web server.
The robots.txt file is a simple text file created in a basic text editor, like Notepad. It allows you to control what the spider is allowed to access and what it is not allowed to access or index.
The format of the basic robots.txt file is pretty simple:
User-Agent: [Spider Name]
Disallow: [File Name]
For example, to allow ALL robots complete access to your web site, your robots.txt file will look like this:
User-agent: *
Disallow:
The asterisk is a “wild card” character that represents ALL robots. Leaving the Disallow line blank indicates to the robots, that nothing on the site is disallowed.
The next example bars all robots from the cgi-bin (where your scripts are typically located), images directories, and the portfolio directories:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /images/
Disallow: /portfolio/
Note: You should use a separate Disallow line for each directory or individual file.
In this example, you may wonder why you would want to disallow a robot from indexing your portfolio directory.
If you are a photographer and you have thumbnail images on a portfolio page that link to enlargement pages launched in a pop-up window, you may not want those pop-up pages indexed. These are called “dead-end” or “orphaned” pages because only the enlarged image appears on the page with no contact info or menu links back to the main site. If the visitor entered your site on one of these pages, they would have nowhere to go and no way to contact you.
For a live example, check out www.AnJPhotography.com and look at her wedding portfolio. When you click on an image, it opens in a new window. The page in the new window is a “dead-end” page. A robots.txt file can keep search engines from indexing these “dead” pages so you don’t leave site visitors stranded.
This example keeps googlebot (the Google spider) from getting at the
private.htm file:
User-agent: googlebot
Disallow: private.htm
When you create your robots.txt file it is extremely important that you use a basic text editor (like Notepad) and NOT a word processing application like Microsoft Word. Applications like Microsoft Word can insert hidden characters that may make your robots.txt file unreadable. After you post your robots.txt file to the web server, you can validate it to make sure it is properly formatted. There are several free validators on the web. Here is one:
http://www.searchengineworld.com/cgi-bin/robotcheck.cgi
There are several advantages and some disadvantages of having the robots.txt file in your root directory. Protocol requires that all search engine robots start indexing your web site with the robots.txt file. This is the default entry point for robots if the file is present. Major search engines will never violate the Standard for Robots Exclusion. This is the primary reason it should be there. Beyond that, it can help with your search engine rankings when used correctly, and it can keep dead pages on your web site from being indexed. The primary disadvantage is that the robots.txt file may be viewed by nefarious individuals on the web, so you never want to use the robots.txt file to try to hide sensitive pages or directories on your web site (like passwords or private information).
For more information about the robots.txt file and complete list of robots, visit the following web site: http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/robots.html

For anyone looking to enhance their Google Page Rank (PR) to get a better place in the search results, we now have software that makes finding good links so much easier.
In case you didn’t know, to get your PR rating up it is essential to have a significant number of good quality links to your site (the techy bit)… to make a link count, the page who is linking to you needs to have a PR of 4 or more (the higher the better). That’s not all though… Every link that page has to another site gives some of the PR away, and every inbound link gives it more, so to know if having a link from another site is going to benefit you very much, you need to look at the PR and then find out how many inbound and outbound links is has! phew!
Not easy I would say, so that’s why we now have special software - you give it a URL and the keywords you have optimised for, and it crawls its’ way round the web looking for pages to link from and analysing them. You end up with a CSV or HTML file that saves you hours in searching and tells you which links are worth having.
Here’s an example of the output for 1 potential link:
Keyword-to-Link search. Used keyword(s) “web site designer”.
http://www.1234-find-web-designers.org/
Rank: 7 Estimated: 3 Outbound: 369 Backward: 2460
This tells you the PR of that site is 7, 369 links to other pages, 2460 links to that page, and it would give you a boost of 3 out of a potential 10 for getting a link.
We offer 2 services - 1 where you supply the keywords you want analysing, and we supply the file back to you with the hard work done, ready for you to approach the sites for links. As an introductory price for August / September this is only £99 + VAT.
We also do the complete link building and optimisation service.
Call for more information - 01202 242200.

Google use a very complex function to determine which search results to return, Google is always changing and Modifying that function to better Serve the Search Engine User. The one constant is quality back links. These are pages linking to you without you linking back to them.
1 - Post to Newsgroups
Many Newsgroups will allow you to post links especially if they are related to the topic or question being asked.
2 - Post to Forums
Forums are Similar to newsgroups but they are typically broken down by topic
3 - Add Comments to a Blog
Many Blogs will allow you to post comments. Find 10 or so blogs a day that are related to your web page and post a comment about your web page. Be sure and use Pingomatic to ping the Blog after you post your comment
4 - Give Testimonials
Send in unsolicited testimonials for products and services you use. Make sure and say You have permission to use the above testimonial.
5 - Circular Linking
There are many strategies involving circular linking. As a simple example you own or operate 2 Web Sites, called Site-1 and Site-2. You can offer a link partner a link on Site-1 if they agree to link to site-2.
6 - Buy Text Ads
Many e-zines are not only sent out via e-mail but are posted on the Internet. By finding an Ezine that keeps that past articles online you can often buy a text ad for a few days get back links
7 - Submit Articles
You can Write and Submit Articles. This might be perhaps the most viral way to get back links. It is not unusual to have your article re-printed in 25 on 50 Web pages the same day you submit it. As other people read these 25 or 50 pages they in turn decide to reprint your article. It is like a snowball rolling down a never ending hill. The More it Rolls the bigger it get and the faster it go’s.

Its a matter of here today, gone tomorrow at the moment with Google so don’t get complacent if you are on the first few pages of the searches.
Its great, you are making money and think now you can relax and forget about it for a while. No chance, Keep up with linking and adding the odd page every week or two or you will disappear in a twinkling.
Here is one instance, No names mentioned that wouldn’t be ethical, but my daughter emailed a webmaster whose website was no1 on Make Money Online and no 1 on Work at Home, She explained very nicely that she could not find her link on his site and she would have to remove his if it wasn’t replaced within two weeks.
The webmasters response was, Go ahead and take it off, I am doing very nicely thank you and making a good living.
One week later the site was nowhere to be found on either search. It cheered my daughter up immensely as she is working hard to get her own website up in the searches and she thought that was a very selfish reply.
Always be civil to fellow webmasters, If you are asked for a reciprocal link exchange but you do not think the site is suitable, or it is not up to standard, then just answer politely and explain the reason you will not link.
A few tips will not go amiss as it is probably someone new trying to make money like you are doing.
Talking about linking Are you one of those webmasters that turns his nose up when someone asks you for a reciprocal link and his site has no PR.!
Think carefully before your refusal. In a few months it is almost certain those websites will be 4 pr or even higher as their owners are working just as hard as you did to get their websites in the searches. You may even want them to link to your next new website.

Webmasters today spend quite some time optimizing their websites for search engines. Books have been written about search engine optimization and some sort of industry has developed to offer search engine optimization services to potential clients. But where did this all start? How did we end up with the SEO world we live in today (from a webmaster standpoint seen)?
A guy named Alan Emtage, a student at the University of McGill, developed the first search engine for the Internet in 1990. This search engine was called “Archie” and was designed to archive documents available on the Internet at that time. About a year later, Gopher, an alternative search engine to Archie, was developed at the University of Minnesota. These two kinda search engines triggered the birth of what we use as search engines today.
In 1993, Matthew Gray developed very first search engine robot - the World Wide Web Wanderer. However, it took until 1994 that search engines as we know them today were born. Lycos, Yahoo! And Galaxy were started and as you probably - two of those are still around today (2005).
In 1994 some companies started experimenting with the concept of search engine optimization. The emphasis was put solely on the submission process at that time. Within 12 months, the first automated submission software packages were released. Of course it did not take long until the concept of spamming search engines was ‘invented’. Some webmasters quickly realized that they could swamp and manipulate search results pages by over-submission of their sites. However - the search engines soon fought back and changed things to prevent this from happen.
Soon, search engine optimizers and the search engines started playing some sort of a “cat and mouse” game. Once a way to manipulate a search engine was discovered by the SE-optimizers they took advantage of this. The search engines subsequently revised and enhanced their ranking algorithms to respond to these strategies. It was clear very soon that mainly a small group of webmasters was abusing the search engine algorithms to gain advantage over the competition. Black Hat search engine optimization was born. The unethical way of manipulating search engine resulted in faster responses from search engines. Search engines are trying to keep the search results clean of SPAM to provide the best service to customers.
The search engine industry quickly realized that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as an industry would not go away, and in order to maintain useful indexes, they would need to at least accept the industry. Search engines now partially work with the SEO industry but are still very eager to sort out SPAMMERS that are trying to manipulate the results.
When Google.com started to be the search engine of choice for more than 50% of the Internet users it was highly visible to anyone in the industry that search engine spamming had reached a new dimension. Google.com was so much more important to the success of a website that many webmasters solely concentrated on optimizing their sites for Google only as the payoff was worth the efforts. Again - Black Hat SEO took place, pushing down the honest webmaster and their sites in search results delivered. Google started fighting back. Several major updates to Google’s algorithms forced all webmaster to adapt to new strategies. Black Hat SE-optimizers but suddenly saw something different happening. Instead of just being pushed down in the search results their websites were suddenly completely removed from the search index.
And then there was something called the “Google Sandbox” to show up in discussions. Websites either disappeared into the sandbox or new websites never made it into the index and were considered in the Google Sandbox. The sandbox seemed to be the place where Google would ‘park’ websites either considered SPAMMY or not to be conform with Google’s policies (duplicate websites under different domain names, etc.). The Google Sandbox so far has not been confirmed or denied by Google and many webmasters consider it to be myth.
In late 2004 Google announced to have 8 billion pages/sites in the search index. The gap between Google and the next two competitors (MSN and Yahoo!) seemed to grow. However - in 2005 MSN as well as Yahoo! Started fighting back putting life back into the search engine war. MSN and Yahoo seemed to gain ground in delivering better and cleaner results compared to Google. In July of 2005 Yahoo! Announced to have over 20 billion pages/sites in the search index - leaving Google far behind. No one search engine has won the war yet. The three major search engines however are eagerly fighting for market share and one mistake could change the fortune of a search engine. It will be a rocky ride - but worth watching from the sidelines.

OK. So you’ve created a nice website with lots of interesting products and information. Now all you need is visitors.
No problem.
This is what online marketers call “getting traffic”, and it definitely is a problem. In fact, probably much more of a problem than you realized when you got into this online selling stuff. You probably figured it was just a matter of creating a nice site and waiting for people to discover it. Get listed in a few directories; “submit” your site to a bunch of search engines, and you’ll be on your way.
Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.
Why it doesn’t work that way
The reason is pretty simple. Most new internet entrepreneurs have no idea how important the big search engines are — especially Google, MSN, and Yahoo. And they have no idea how these big search engines work. If they did, they would probably tear their beautiful websites apart and start over.
And guess what? That is exactly what most online entrepreneurs end up doing. If they are persistent enough, they eventually learn about the search engines, and they rebuild their sites the way they should have been built in the first
place.
What they think they have learned
The reason they rebuild their sites is because they learn a little bit about something called “Search Engine Optimization” or “SEO”. The mysterious art of SEO starts from the premise that search engines analyze websites in terms of content and subject matter. Their automatic “spiders” look over your pages and use hints within those pages to determine what they are about. If they see lots of words about “golden retrievers” on a particular page, then they assume that page is about “golden retrievers”. These are known as “keywords” — the words that indicate what your content is about.
SEO takes this fairly obvious fact and says, “Since the search engines are going to draw conclusions about the subject matter of your pages based on keywords, then you should make sure they see the correct ones.” In fact, there are all kinds of little SEO techniques that try to exploit the way spiders draw
conclusions about your pages.
Why this is not enough
Unfortunately, no matter how much SEO you do, it is still not enough to ensure you a high ranking in searches for your most important keywords.
Especially if you are chasing popular keywords like most of us are. For instance, it really doesn’t matter how much “optimization” you do for a keyword like “Real Estate”, since you will be competing for search engine results with literally millions of other pages which are also optimized for that term. Why should they choose your humble little page?
The fact is, they don’t choose yours. And the reason is pretty simple. Your page is just not important enough to rank a high position for a term like “Real Estate”. You have to do something to give it some importance.
Making your pages “important”
The most effective way to make your pages “important” in the eyes of the
search engines, is to get other sites to link to yours. When the search engines see a link pointing from an outside site to a page on your site, they assume this means your page is important enough to be considered a resource worth looking at. The more links you have pointing at your page, the more important
your page is considered and the higher it will rank when people search for the type of content your page is about.
It is also important to understand that not all links are considered equally valuable by the search engines. The most valuable links come from other important sites that share your area of interest. For instance, if yours is a Real Estate site, then the most valuable links are from other real estate sites that have already achieved some importance in the eyes of the search engines.
To put this all in “link strategy” terms:
The best way to enhance the importance of your web pages in the eyes of the search engines, is by getting as many links as possible from relevant sites that are considered authoritative in your area of interest.
